Dr Brandow is the BEST! I want to sincerely thank you and your incredible staff for everything you…read moredid for me during my recent surgery. A few months ago, I came to you with back pain and concerns about feeling top-heavy. You recommended removing my silicone gel implants--which, I learned, you don't use for good reason--and suggested a breast lift with liposuction in the surrounding area. I really appreciated your patience as I struggled with the decision, especially about whether to replace the implants with smaller ones. During the surgery, we discovered that both implants had ruptured--it was a much more complicated procedure than expected, extending from a planned 3-3.5 hours to 5.5 hours. I realize now that I waited far too long to remove them, and you were absolutely right to be cautious about this type of implant. They could have leaked into my body and caused serious harm. You truly saved my life, and I am beyond grateful. You are a brilliant doctor, and I can't thank you enough for performing my surgery. Your entire team has been amazing--supportive, responsive, and kind through every step. I appreciate each and every one of you.

He will listen to your needs, he will consider your opinions, and then suggest what he thinks is right for you. I trust him implicitly. The upper eyelid surgery and the face peel that he performed gave me an additional 10 years of a youthful appearance at age 73. After the surgery, I was also gifted four facials with lymphatic drainage. I do not know of any plastic surgeon in this Philadelphia area who does that! I highly recommend him.

I…read morelove the massage therapist I have set people ( Benita / Roxanne) like go to and for my facials(Elisa). The service providers always get me relaxed and have me glowing. I believe there are new owners this past 6 months to a year. They have upgraded the interior decor and the rugs As to a nice atmosphere. New front staff and some new massage therapist and estheticians. As I stated before I have my people I go to for my services. My issue is with front desk. Although everyone is very pleasant it seems as though they are not trained fully on what needs to be done. My last few appointments there has been hiccups: ---- On my account it was noted asked if client is using gifts cards. When i was check me out the young lady informed me that I use x amount of packages and I had a balance for the additional services. I stated that I didn't want to use any packages but use my gift cards and pay whatever is left what's a credit card. The young lady just kept stating to me I have so many packages why do I want to use the gift card. Got to the point where they had to call the manager who stated she would adjust it the following day. I did call the following evening to ensure that my packages was returned and that they used to give cards that I provided. -- the next hiccup was that I booked a 90-minute massage. But it was cut short to a 60 Minute massage because the person who scheduled my appointment did not realize that the extra 30 minutes was cutting into the massage therapist break. My question with this where are the checks and balances on upcoming appointments. I was disappointed that I didn't get a 90 minute but what I did get was amazing. -- There was I had an issue with my credit card. I had to provide a new credit card because my old one which was applied to my membership payments stolen. The new cc was applied it to an old account. When I went to pay for service they said I had no credit card available. Later finding out that it was applied to an old account. So moving forward I'm going to be extra mindful of my appointments. Like I said service providers are great the front desk Personnel like I said are Pleasant but need to be more knowledgeable. I have a few appointments over the next few weeks we'll see how these transpire hopefully it will be smooth sailing from beginning to end.

I booked services for myself and my partner. I went back first, assuming he'd be taken soon after. Instead, he sat in the lobby for almost 40 minutes completely ignored. Not one staff member checked on him or even acknowledged his presence until I was finished. When I brought it up, all I got was a flat, insincere "sorry." Then came the payment issue. The FSA card I always use at other Hand & Stone locations didn't go through here. I was told after the fact that this location "doesn't accept FSA," which would've been nice to know beforehand. The charge ended up declining once I left and instead of handling it professionally, they actually threatened to call the police over a simple payment issue caused by their own unclear policies. Imagine that...a spa threatening a loyal customer over their own mistake. And let's talk about the service itself: subpar doesn't even begin to describe it. My provider never introduced herself, barely spoke, and didn't even bother to walk me out when it was over. No care, no connection, no effort, just a rushed "take care" and gone. I didn't even get her name, which tells you exactly how impersonal the experience was. This location has zero professionalism, zero accountability, and zero sense of customer care. I left feeling frustrated, disrespected, and honestly, embarrassed for ever giving them a second chance. Do yourself a favor. And skip this location entirely. There are plenty of Hand & Stone spas that actually value their clients. This one clearly doesn't.

I would also like to commend Spa by Claudia for not only responding to my post on yelp but for actually working on the problem I spoke about in my review. I have had over five sessions since my last review and I haven't run into any of the concerns or issues I spoke about in my last review. On the other hand, I've been late myself and I've been accommodated for my lateness. With that being said, I would like to commend Jerri the new aesthetician from South Carolina. She gave me a very pleasant and swift service today. She was extremely professional and friendly at the same time, I couldn't have asked for a better service. Kudos!

I had to sit in hour and wait for a 2pm appointment. While waiting, someone walks in, states they don't have an appointment and was taken right back. This is poor customer service and dishonesty. The receptionist Serene, was rude and not helpful when I questioned what I witnessed. If I wasn't pressed for time, I would have left and went elsewhere.

However, my experience with him was extraordinarily disappointing and I would not recommend him to anyone, particularly anyone who has large numbers of moles. I have seen 5 dermatologists over the past 10 years, bringing my total body photography (print and digital images of all my moles) with me, and most doctors spend a good 20 - 30 minutes looking over each image and checking it against the moles on my body. These days they mostly look at the digital images, enlarging them on a computer screen and comparing them to particular moles. During my appointment with Dr. Sherwin, he spent a maybe 5 minutes looking over my moles (I have hundreds of moles all over my body) and dismissed the use of magnifying lenses or other examination tools. When I asked why he had not competed the moles to the images and used a magnifying glass or the magnifying lenses he was wearing, he stated that his 44 years of experience were better than any of those tools. He was extremely dismissive of my questions and worry, and spent most of our appointment attempting to impress me with stories about his Ph.D. research at Penn in the mid 1970's on cancer and HIV, how his mentor should have won the Nobel prize. This might have been true but I did not see how it applied to my moles or worry that he was not taking my cancer risk seriously and notably, his discussion of HIV was incorrect, I know this because I happen to be a professor who does HIV research. Further, this was my first appointment, yet unlike any other dermatologist I have seen, he did not ask about my use of sunscreen, hats or other lifestyle choices that affect cancer risk, only asking if I was careful about the sun, to which I said yes, and then he cut off my follow up comment with more stories about his research. Overall, I have a lot of anxiety about my cancer risk, because it is high, and nothing was said or done to discuss ways to mitigate it. Overall, I left the appointment feeling rather small, with no sense that I had been properly examined or thought about. I suspect Dr. Sherwin is a good practitioner, has he been in practice for a long time, has an excellent pedigree and I know people who speak well of him. But my experience was almost wholly negative, and I will not be going back. In addition to his dermatological examination I was frustrated that he removed his mask several times while speaking 2 - 3 feet away from me, was not wearing it properly when it was on (not over the nose). I understand that masks can be uncomfortable, but they are an important protection against COVID-19 these days and I was really surprised to see a medical professional who interacts with many people in small rooms each day being so cavalier about my health and potential exposure.
