I keep wondering what they have to offer at this Halal meats grocery store. Sometimes small markets…read moreare sparsely stocked... but not this place. The shelves are jam-packed with Middle Eastern foods including dates, Turkish apricots, baklava, halva, and other dried fruits, nuts and pastries. The canned goods are plentiful from tuna, sardines, pickled fruits and vegetables, hot sauces, spices and so much more. There's a good selection of cold drinks, yogurts, mango lassi, juices and cheeses. There are coffees and teas, and even a frozen food area with meat dishes, flatbreads, pitas and more. The highlight of this market were the two men working there. When we first walked in we stopped at the meat deli case which features chicken, beef, lamb and goat. The prices are very reasonable compared to the grocery stores. T-bone steaks for 7.99 per pound, Ribeyes 9.99 and filet mignon for 12.99. We weren't there for more than 10 seconds when the man says, "we've got the freshest meat in Winston-Salem. Come, follow me!" He took me through their kitchen/meat butchering area to the walk in cooler where they have sides of beef and lamb hanging in the cooler. It was nice to get a behind the scenes tour and the place was very clean as well. The other man at the register seemed less confident in his English, but when checking out, I picked up what looked like a stick in a clear package. Not knowing what it was, I put it down. He picked it up, cut it open, began shaving the bark off the outside and handed it to me. He said "My God says, use to clean teeth. Toothbrush." And he gave it to me. Obviously I had to hop on Google to find out it's name: The miswak (miswaak, siwak, sewak, Arabic: سواك or مسواك) is a teeth-cleaning twig made from the Salvadora persica tree (known as arāk, أراك, in Arabic). It is reputed to have been used over 7,000 years ago. Yeah, they have those there too. If you find joy in wandering through Super G Mart, Super Compare Foods or any international foods market, you'll like this place like I did. I just wish they had fresh made foods for a quick lunch.

The person who cut the full bird asked me "how to cut" and just disproportionately slammed into multiple Pieces and I ended up discarding crushed bones at home! He turned out to be very impatient! Wasted my $11. Won't return after all!

This is an excellent restaurant with very tasteful food containing most of the great Indian dishes…read moreand cooked in the same manner, using the tandoori oven, as used in India. I have eaten at many Indian restaurants around the United States, including many in the LA California area. I can say this one comes close to the Best One where I regularly ate in the LA area ( Chameli, mostly vegetarian, but did have butter chicken, coconut chicken, and Salmon). If you have never had salmon cooked in a "Tandoori Oven" then please do so for a Tandoori oven provides the best of cooked salmon plus how they prepare the salmon before it is placed in the Tandoori oven. Also, they make fine masala chai tea. They offer the meals in mild, medium, and hot. I started going there a year and a half ago when I first moved to Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Sharda, who is from India but has that down south hospitality, ensures all goes well with your dining experience. Also the artwork they decorated the place is amazing. Paul Henry Farris

Nice grocery with friendly staff inside. We got some snacks and also some samosas from the hot bar,…read morewhich were delicious with homemade chutneys. The green chutney was spicy and I think it was actually jalapeño, which is a different take. Enjoyable if you like spicy, which I do! Store was empty and had a slight sulfuric odor to it. Bajaj Almond Drops says it's a hair oil... and sure, fine, you can put it on your hair. But…read morelisten...on the skin?! ELITE. Supreme. Five-star behavior. I've been using it for a year and my skin is smoother than my life decisions. No greasy mess, no weird smell, just soft, glowing, "what lotion do you use?" energy. Great store with great prices! This store specializes in Indian and south east asian grocery goods…read more There are so many wonderful products available that are twice the price in most grocery chains. I'll purchase many of the spices I need for day-to-day cooking here. Most recently I got a huge bag of peppercorns for about $10 and ended up with the equivalent of $50 of fresh ground pepper after grinding and storing them. Also, they have bulk quantities of rice, beans, chickpeas, and other dry staple goods. I haven't found anywhere else that gets close to the value they have on a 10lb bag of red lentils. Also, they have fantastic frozen meals and lots to choose from in the freezer section. The store is daunting to navigate for someone unfamilar with the cuisine. However, it's well worth your while to do your homework in advance and come in with a list. The staff is friendly and will help you locate what you need. They have some tasty to-go food in the front of the store. Typically, they have samosa and various savory puff pastries. I always buy a couple of these tasty treats when I'm checking out so I can have a car snack! Overall, I'd absolutely recommend popping in, even if it is your first time in a specialized grocery store. You won't be disappointed!
