A few days ago I reviewed the small branch hat Notes has inside Canay Wharf station and the other day, I finally had the chance to visit the bigger and newer branch in the Crossrail building. And yes, at Notes they take coffee seriously. Because it is awfully good!
This bigger branch offers two of life's greatest pleasures: coffee and wine, as well as baked goods throughout the day, wine, craft beer, cocktails, sharing plates and tapas in the late afternoon/evening.
It is a very nice place, big and airy, with floor to ceiling windows and wooden benches and tables. It feels cosy inside, although a bit cold when I visit (but it was a horribly cold day outside!)
The team is really nice and they know what they are doing when preparing your coffee. Excellent temperature (I hate when my coffee is boiling hot and have to wait 20 minutes to drink it!) and excellent taste. And if you are looking for a pretty coffee to Instagram, excellent foam art as well!
I didn't try any of the food, as I was just looking for a hot drink to warm me up (and wake me up!) but I'll definitely be back in the evening to taste the food and have a try at their cocktails!
