The reception desk is in the middle and while the staff are nice enough, they aren't the most personable. The office layout consists of (what appear to be) two separate hallways of offices with a waiting area for each hallway. The problem is, if the area closest to your doctor's office is full, you have to wait in the other and hope you hear your doctor call your name. Perhaps because this practice doubles as a walk-in clinic, the staff don't call each patient and take them to the exam room, which has always been the norm with my previous GPs. It's also not the cleanest waiting room. My doctor is great, if a bit shy and quiet (then again, so am I). I have seen one other doctor in this practice and he was efficient and personable. I would recommend this practice as the three-star rating is more for the pre-appointment experience; I have had nothing but pleasnt experiences with the GPs.

Parkland is where appts are booked along with a walk in clinic until 4 pm. Parkwest is open 9-9 daily seeing all walk in patients. It is open 7 days a week. Varying hours on weekends and Holidays. The doctors are always there to help along with the nurses. Proffesional and kind are the two words I would use to describe the doctors and facilities.

He arrived at 9 am, when the website said they opened, to find a room of people and a confused receptionist. He asked to see a doctor, expecting to wait a while, and was told she "wasn't sure" when the doctor would be in. He inquired some more and she said definitely he'd be in after lunch. He found this odd but returned home and told me he'd go back after lunch. We're not sure what those other crowds of people did...since the doctor was missing. Around 1 pm he headed back over. Still told no doctor. Told to come back that evening. He returned home and when I got home from work I offered to take him over (although I suggested a different clinic because it worries me when they don't know where their physician is!) so I brought him over, during normal hours, and they were closed. No sign, no explanation. Just closed. This is ridiculous. First they send sick people running back and forth because they've lost their doctor and then they randomly close without warning. We will never go back to this location. It was too much of a hassle. And don't worry... I took him to another clinic I usually use and he's feeling much better!

Just a pay check here. After all that I found out the doctor I was sent their to see 5pm the following night cancelled at 7pm. No call to let you know and their is no need to wonder why. With the shortage of Doctors in N.S they can treat you if they want to and how ever they want to. I only needed antibiotics but only one doctor is aware of my situation and how to treat it. They need to be an expert in their field and you need to pray and hope the sun, moon, and stars all line up for you. Good luck.

I didn't even take off my jacket. after, I asked to see if my ankle is worse due to cartilage lost and a new pain I haven't felt before and all he said is i should "take rest because i'm healing slower" when I referred again to the fact it's not a sprain, it's worn down cartilage (that will not heal or regenerate) he doubled down that I simply need to rest more than previously. it all felt like a huge waste of time and effort. I would've preferred waiting 8 hours in an emergency room to see a doctor who will actually check me out so that I can confidently know if I was fine or not. I will not be going ever again. Already as a black woman I must advocate for my own health time and again because people do not believe me or take me seriously, this was one of those moments.

I went to a different clinic afterwards and was diagnosed with pneumonia and needed antibiotics and a puffer. I would avoid this walk-in at absolutely all costs, they are incompetent and disorganized.

I always arrive at 7 to be given a number at 8:30 to maybe be seen at around 10:30. It's a long process, but much faster than other walk in clinics in Halifax from my experience. It really sucks that it takes out so much time from a day, especially if you're looking for prescription refills or small / quick procedures or check ups. The service is fine. The doctor is kind and efficient. It's nothing to write home about, but again- I can imagine everyone working in this field being overwhelmed and having to put up with a lot of impatience and harsh words. I try to redirect my frustration at the overall health system we have in place rather than the individual. I was unimpressed with the amount of ants everywhere - I don't know if this is because of the clinic being inside of Superstore, the trash not being taken out, or some other reason. It also doesn't smell clean, which is off putting for a clinic. When I wait for so long, especially to have someone look after my health, I want to feel... clean? Sanitary? I have come here a few times, but was unimpressed with my most recent visit due to the ants and state of the clinic.
