My husband had surgery at the gateway surgery center, it was very unprofessional and I was not…read moreallowed to go back with him, or sit with him before surgery. He said when he got back there no one greated him and Dr. Boggs was chatting it up with the staff, came over and made a mark on his foot and left. My husband's pain tolerance is difficult as he's been on pain medication for ongoing issues, and was prescribed the lowest dose of medication possible. We addressed this with the anestesiologist, and the nurse at the surgery center who completely agreed that the medication would not work for pain and to speak with Dr. Boggs staff about this. He spoke with Nickki, who was extremely rude, unsimpathetic, and he told her the medication was not working, she said to double up the dose, ice it and see if that works. She made him feel like he's a drug seeker, She didn't care, and on the sheet of paper they gave us it said to call the doctor directly if your medication doesnt work. Thats what he did!!!! I called back and advised that hes in excrusiating pain and ice, and elevating it and the medication is not working, and he's been doubling up on his dose, she said well who told you to do double the dose, really you just told my husband to do that. So long story short they are not going to do anything, and I said well this is a waste of time, and I guess hes just going to suffer and be in pain and ended the call. She called back, spoke to my husband and said I thought we were on the same page? Really???!!! No not at all, your not helping. You make him feel like a criminal, and drug seeker and doctors are clearly scared to prescribe pain medication, but it's for a surgery. We are very unpleased with WWMG, and Dr. Boggs staff, and if we couldd go else where mid treatment we would. It's hard enough to see my husband in misery, and awful pain, and then to see him hurt by making him feel like he's a criminal and drug seeker. We will never do business with Dr. Boggs, or WWMG again. Very dissappointing that you leave your patients in agony! I've called my insurance company to make them aware of the complaint as well, and the BBB. Beware, if your having surgery and have a pain contract, you will be left in misery and be made to feel like a drug seeker and criminal.

I have been having foot troubles for 5 years straight...the last year has been impossible…read more Couldn't walk more than a quarter of a mile without being in horrible pain, swelling, etc. Looked every where for a doctor that would take my insurance....but my insurance company is so awful out of 30 some doctors no one would take me as a new patient. I had seen Dr. BOGGS online and wanted to see him but he wasn't seeing new patients (with my insurance) either. I ended up going to my shoulder surgeon begging for her to try something or at least give me direction after reading my xrays and MRI's. She gave me an injection in my foot and referred me to Dr. Boggs. I was able to get in because he was part of my existing surgeons. His staff has been great, on the phone setting up appointments, checking me in, the ladies that work in the back with him (T and Nyckki---she's the super rock star!!!), from check ups to xrays they are the best. Super efficient, helpful, and personable. Dr. Boggs did a few injections to determine his plan of action, and we eventually agreed on surgery. He and his staff were able to schedule me ASAP, and I had foot surgery in May. They have been great getting all my appointments scheduled and keeping me on track for recovery. I appreciate Dr. Boggs's honesty, and realistic expectations, goals, etc. He definitely knows what he's doing and is quick to put me at ease. If you are looking for a great foot doctor/ surgeon that has a reliable, friendly staff...check them out. Convenient parking, easy to access, and does surgeries at Gateway...not dirty hospitals.

It's been several months since I recovered from the surgery, and I am pain free!! So happy with the whole experience--from initial consultation to final recovery!!

I was referred to Dr. Edward Chestnutis and made an appointment. It was several weeks away, so I asked to be put on the cancellation list; they said they obliged. However, I never got a call. So, three days before my appointment, I get a call at 4:52 pm from Jessica at the practice, asking me to call her back so that I can reschedule my appointment because the doctor can no longer see me. Now, considering I was on a cancellation list, I was displeased that not only did I never get a call--when she said "80% of the time, people are able to come in earlier," but especially because they wanted to schedule out another two weeks--which I couldn't do because I already have holiday plans out of town. I asked why my appointment had to be rescheduled, but Jessica simply said, "I just do what I'm told." Oh, okay, it's one of THOSE places, where people are robots and fear their boss. I asked Jessica to simply ask to find out and also ask if someone else could be bumped given the weeks' long wait (someone could have been bumped with much more notice than I was given) and my inability to come in two weeks later. She said she would ask and put me on hold. But like any good robot, she had no guts to actually ask and instead transferred the problem to someone else, the Office Manager, Jo. Jo said that the doctor scheduled a surgery during my appointment. I asked why he didn't just schedule it another time, and she said it was an emergent surgery and had to be coordinated with other facilities. Okay, that's fair, but let's talk about squeezing me in or bumping someone else? She said she would "absolutely not" do that "just because [I] was 'going out of town'" (as if it were going out of town for the holidays were a snobbish thing to do; little did she know I haven't seen my mom in three years and my mom almost died two weeks ago--it's not like I'm flying to Vegas for indiscriminate fun every other weekend). I stood up for myself, which was not the best way to push harder for what I wanted, but was in line with my self respect. However, that turned into, "How about this? I'm going to just cancel your appointment and tell your PCP that we won't see you, period." Not exactly a robot like Jessica, but Jo certainly isn't a good--or compassionate--person if she judges you for wanting to solve pain that accompanies you with every step and do so within a reasonable amount of time from your original appointment. Worse yet, she clearly has issues with you having a life beyond hers, as she condemns you for going out of town. She's the person who needs to scan Facebook memes about kindness and never underestimating others' hardships. Bottom line: Dr. Edward Chestnutis doesn't have amazing healthgrades.com scores anyway, so along with my review, save yourself from the headache of being put last when health *care* should put patients first.
