I noticed I got 1 wart on the bottom of my left foot and 2 warts on the bottom of my right foot…read more The 1 wart on my left foot started paining so I decided to stop by the Chicago Foot Care Clinic and have Dr. Thimesch check them out. This practice does not accept Medicaid and unfortunately that is the medical coverage I currently have so I had to pay from my pocket for my treatment. For the initial consult I paid $150 where Dr. Thimesch looked at the warts and explained what they were and the fact that they have to be removed via laser treatment. A week later the staff of Dr. Thimesch got me on the schedule for laser treatment. On the day of the laser treatment I paid $525 and was called in shortly to receive anesthesia via a syringe around the warts so my feet would temporary loose sensation for the laser treatment. The Anesthesia Injections were painful - my left wart area needed anesthesia more than the right side due to the location of the wart. The treatment went smoothly and my wounds are in the healing process - Dr. Thimesch and his team did a great job! After the surgery the staff wrapped my feet up and dressed the wounds with the medical socks for easier management of the wounds. I was told not to shower, stay off my feet as much as possible and the possibility of the wounds bleeding due to the depth of the incisions. About 24 hours later I have had very minimum pain thanks to the antibiotic which was prescribed by Dr. Thimesch and Tylenol. Dr. Thimesch called me yesterday as well to follow up which was nice and to see if I have any questions - great customer care! This morning the staff called me as well to see how I was doing as well! Very amazing customer service from the Doctor and his staff. I have my follow ups for the next 6-8 weeks so Dr. Thimesch can clean my wounds and make sure my wounds are healing well. Definitely recommend this clinic to all Chicago Public for amazing care and service. 5/5

He has a great sense of humor and from his professionalism and over 20 years of experience he obviously knows what he is doing. His staff was friendly and made sure I was comfortable. Yes, he did have to stick a needle in the bottom of my foot - wasn't too bad - I will survive. But the best part about the visit was when he said that I might benefit from orthotics, but get this, he would contact my insurance company first to see if it was covered! Oh, and also the fact that my foot feels much better! I am so happy that I found a podiatrist in my area that I actually like!

My husband David has been suffering from severe foot problems for 2.5 years. We met Dr Jason Kalk…read moreabout 5 months ago when David was hospitalized at St Francis Evanston with sepsis and MRSA. Then things changed, more than the treatment David had been receiving for 2 years. The previous doctors took a wait and see what happens attitude. Dr Kalk immediately assessed the situation and began treatment that has solved the problem. Office visits are always friendly and helpful. The staff at his office is terrific. Knowledgeable and friendly. David has also recently had some skin cancer removed from his head leaving a large wound. Every time we have seen Dr Kalk, weekly since David's hospitalization, Dr Kalk inquires about the head wound and looks at it. The last time David was seen at the Northwestern Hospital dermatology surgery clinic, we were told to come back in three months. I cannot say enough good things about Dr Kalk except that I wish we would have found him 2.5 years ago. I sincerely doubt that David would have undergone the two years of trouble he had before meeting Dr Kalk, maybe not the 2 surgeries he had, and the 2 emergency hospitalizations for sepsis that almost killed David. Dr Jason Kalk, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I had a an impromptu phone conversation with Dr. Stavros Alexopoulos prior to scheduling my…read morehusband's podiatry appointment with him. I knew this was the doctor my husband needed, but the doctor didn't yet know how true that was. Importantly, the doctor listened to me. I explained that my husband is not a good patient. I mean he is not good at reporting his own condition, he's not likely to ever schedule any kind of doctor's appointment, and he's most likely to resist suggestions, especially from me. I explained all that to Dr A, asking him if he would master the situation so that my husband would see himself as having a man to man conversation. This is the type of relationship my husband will respond to, and I know he will do what the doctor says if he has this kind of one-on-one. I was blown away watching this seasoned physician (who had treated my elderly father with such expert care and sweetness) take on the role of the gentle shaman, advising my husband about taking stewardship of his own physical wellbeing, improving his ability to enjoy the latter part of his life with more relaxed mobility and in better health all around. People complain a lot about doctors who don't listen, so that's already something that sets Dr. A apart. But his agreement to take extra measures to work with a patient's particular psychology is giving "above and beyond" a new definition.
