Taz Flynn - The repair work on our ceiling. He made such a mess that we told him it was fine just to get him out of our house.

We must preface this review by revealing that we did end up with a good roof by the time the job was finished. However, there were many things that made this job extremely difficult for us and we would not hire him again. Taz is a good roofer but he is not a good business man. He knows how to present himself in order to get the signed contract. Once the contract was signed, everything changed with him. Before the contract was signed he was polite, told us that he had a crew, start time was 7am, and that the job would be finished in 2 or so weeks. He also told us he would provide us with an additionally insured document that we requested to be in our hands before the job started. He was very communicative and got back with us almost immediately when we emailed or texted. Once the job started, he was abrupt and argumentative, had no crew, and showed up at 7am twice. On one particular Friday he told us he would be here on Monday at 7am. He showed up on Wednesday after no communication the entire time telling us that he had opted for a trip to California instead. The job took 7 weeks. He also asked for $6,000 in the middle of the job, which was not how the contract read. We gave him half of it and told him we would give him the other half when we received the additionally insured document. He became angry and asked what he had done for us to lose our trust in him. To this day, we have never received the additionally insured documents...which makes us wonder if he is insured at all. Not only did we have to work through his difficult and unreliable personality, he left our roof open to the weather and chose to go to Spokane for a weekend rather than dry us in. We were hit with a rainstorm resulting in inside damage to our ceiling. He did a good job on the kitchen repair, but the dining room looks horrible. In the process of his repair work, he pointed a fan to the ceiling to dry it more quickly. By the time all was said and done, we were left with a house that had dry wall dust in every room. It took us 3 days to clean it and an additional $200 to clean our slipcovers and area rugs. Knowing and doing business with him has not been a pleasant experience.

Great sales job to get the signed contract, starts out like gang busters but goes downhill fast…read more Taz has problems with being consistent in work hours. Worked several nights past 9pm. When asked to do something a certain way fights with homeowners. He then began to be aggressive, and whinny. Even said in early April, "I just want to be away from this negativity." The only negativity he incurred was when we asked for a certain peak structure over our front door. We had a pile of lumber we said he could use some. He used it all. Left garbage. Used a 2 by 4 that had cuts in it for a deck roof, that would not hold up to snow. When we were gone away camping, my house sitter found him passed out in his car in our driveway. House sitter called cops as Taz told her earlier that day that he had surgery recently. She was distressed and called the cops. Taz was angry that the house sitter called the cops. wAgain he thought we were not at home, parked his car at the neighbors and came over the fence to work on our house after we told him his services were no longer needed. All we can say is avoid the headache and stay away from Titan Builders

Pigman is very budget conscious, and was open and honest on the costs of our high end finishes. If you're in the Bitterroot valley and looking for a spec. build or a custom design, I'd talk to Pigman first.

Looks nice on the outside but as we watched the construction every day…read morewe pointed out issues that they ignored until further into the build so previous work had to be redone. Windows were cheap, you can hear wind howling through. Load bearing porch beam was only sitting on 1/4 of its pier on one end of porch, the other end was supported only by the sheeting from the garage. Since my husband is in construction, we added additional supports after workers left. There are no braces in the floor so the floor bounces as you walk on it, but we'll go down into the crawlspace and add the 2' braces. Roof trusses had up to 1 1/2" gaps with the room framing which left the ceiling with a crack. Communication was so-so and there was no supervisor inspecting anything except a couple times during the build. You would think that since they knew my husband would be living on site, they'd take care to do things right the first. Fortunately we took pictures during each stage to document issues. I feel sorry for the buyers who don't get to see the bones of their house. Really sorry we used this builder. We've now lived in the home for a year. At least it's insulated well.
