we had a very poor experience with frank …read more our experience with frank began after he responded to my inquiry about a house on zillow. he spoke with me for roughly a half hour on a Sunday . I was very impressed he took so much time to speak with me on a weekend. he had a very friendly attitude and was very understanding and informative. he gave off a great first impression. after we decided to go forward with frank as our realtor , we were lucky enough to find an amazing house right off the bat. at this point we decided to put in an offer on the house. during this process , there was a few things frank did that made me uncomfortable . - even though we were very upfront with frank about the amount of money we had to put forward, he continued to pressure me to come up with more money by any means. he at one point told me to "go to the well" and borrow some from family. this was not something I was comfortable doing . - he pressured me to close on the house ASAP and told me I should not worry about burning a bridge with my current landlord. I told frank very respectfully that exiting my current house in a responsible and respectful manner was very important to me. he continued to tell me how I'd never speak with my landlord again and he didn't care about us etc. after being somewhat forceful, frank apologized and admitted he had perhaps crossed a line. - frank was very difficult to communicate with and get a hold of after the initial offer was put in. even when I sent him a text telling him I had something I wanted to discuss, he would refuse to call me and text me back saying there was nothing to discuss. because of very small and unfortunate details our deal on this property fell through. we told frank that these details were small and temporary and we'd be interested in looking at more properties . at this point , frank told us that it was pointless to look at any more properties unless we were going to be putting in an offer immediately. he told us that any house we liked would be bought by someone else if we didn't put in an offer immediately. at this juncture, I felt as if frank was lying to me. my feeling was that he felt we were not worth his time. I did not believe his story that he didn't want to show us houses because they'd soon be scooped off the market. this point was perfectly illustrated by the fact that all the houses we had been looking at were on the market for 6+ months. with frank unwilling to show us any houses, and my wife and I both having a strong desire to continue looking, I felt it best that we simply part ways. at this point , we had a 6 month exclusive deal with frank. I politely and respectfully requested that he let us out of the contract so we could continue our search with someone else . frank did not respond to my request and did not return my phone calls. he did however , call my mortgage broker twice in this time frame seeking information about our financial situation. four days after my initial request to simply part ways. I was finally able to get a hold of frank. I told him calmly and politely that I totally understood and respected his position that a lengthy search for us would not be in his personal best interest. I repeatedly told him that I understood his need to make a living and did not expect him to do anything that he felt was wasteful of his time. I continued to try to explain to frank that my only request was not to force him to do anything he didn't want to, but simply to let us out of the contract so that we could deal with someone who was willing. frank continued to aggressively and condescendingly tell me that I just did not understand the business, etc. I was really baffled because at no point did I ever try to force frank into showing us more houses when he was not willing to. all I ever asked was to be let out of the contract so we could explore other options. this conversation confirmed my initial suspicion that frank was refusing to show us houses because it was not in his best financial interests. though I totally understand that point, I was very upset that he lied to us, and told us the reason was because the houses would sell too quickly for our timeline. after contacting his corporate headquarters, frank did finally let us out of our contract. the managers at his company seemed much more understanding and did not exaggerate or complicate the situation frank did. overall, we would absolutely not recommend frank. we were very upfront and honest with him throughout the entire process. we did express , politely , at a few points when we had concerns. frank called this "combative." at no point did we ever raise our voices, become aggressive , use foul language , or do anything else that I would consider "combative." his issues seem to be with us being forthright, and anyone who has an issue with this is not someone I would ever recommend doing business with .
