He said my pain should be alot less, immediately, and it was. Then on Wednesday my range of motion was worse and pain was worse. After doing all of the instructions, i.e. ice, ibuprofen still didn't help. I called and Deanna the nurse told me that I could come in at 1 pm and it was noon. I am in Sierra Vista so it would take me more than an hour to get there. She said well the only other option is for you to go to urgent care. I said is there any way he can see me later today or tomorrow and she said, "unfortunately, no" so now I have to go to urgent care (because AZ Pain Centers don't offer stronger meds) and that is probably what I needed to do. I am very disappointed. Being in pain in my dominant arm is bad enough but not being able to be seen because of this is terrible. I went there thinking this was the answer because of their commercials on tv. I will go somewhere else that if I need a little stronger pain meds than ibuprofen or Tylenol to get me through this then they will give it to me. At least for a few days to see if the pain subsides!!!

This did not help my vertigo weakness or migraine at all. After the extensive paperwork I was sent back to the room where the first lady I saw started filling out my information. It took longer than usual to get everything in the system as the system would not allow things to be entered. The lady who does the physical exam was very nice spoke to me like a human being and was able to provide me with information that may be wrong with me. I told her I'd been suffering migraines for 13 years and this is the first time somebody was actually paying attention to what I was trying to tell them. she even confirmed, I have TMJ. Though I've been telling people for years I may have TMJ, I have been denied this. I did not know the office was an injection only company until the doctor came in and advised that he will be doing a series of shots in my neck and back to see if it would help the migraine and vertigo. I was immediately sent back and they did the injections in my neck a little nerve wracking but not as bad as I expected. he was even nice enough to put music on to make me feel better. After it was over we went to the front to schedule more appointments but the system would only allow one appointment to be inputted. I was told I would have pain for about a day and a half and to take the ibuprofen as prescribed. Unfortunately, I am now on the third day and have extreme weakness in my back, muscles and also have extreme pain in other areas, that didn't hurt as much before. Also after contacting the main number I found out they do not prescribe any type of medication whatsoever I was trying to get vertigo and nausea medication and was advised they do not prescribe anything and I must get it from my family doctor. Of course when I called my family doctor they said they would not prescribe it and I had to get it from the office I got the injections from. When I called back the office they advised to contact a certain doctor which actually happened to be my own doctor and told the manager that they will not prescribe nausea and vertigo medication for me. This is been a very stressful experience and even if they did inform me of all of the information I wish I would have waited on the injection and got in the second opinion first. Now I am sitting here with pinched nerves body pain and still have the vertigo.

They finally started giving me medication about 2 years ago, one of which actually worked, but stopped working after 9 months. Then they gave me an additional medication on top of the 1st one. The 2 together does blunt the pain a bit, but it's still around a 7 on the pain scale. Today I tried to refill one of my pills, but the pharmacy said I had to wait another day! As of tonight, I am out. I have 2 appointments tomorrow morning and I won't be able to go to the pharmacy until tomorrow mid afternoon! 2 pills I will miss because Dr Yang wouldn't let me have my pills on day 29. She doesn't care about my pain! I will avoid her in the future, and I suggest that others do too.

It took most of the next day calling and leaving messages to try to get something for the pain. Never got to speak to a doctor, but was prescribed some Tramadol which barely helped. The day of the procedure, Dr Yang was late, gave me a five minute explanation of what was next and afterwards stood in the doorway of the recovery room and said it went well. Apparently, it didn't go well and the pain continued. Spent the next day in agony trying to reach someone there for help. One one thier Lackeys finally called back and said Dr Yang wanted some X-Rays and prescribed a pain pill called Journavx​ which my pharmacy doesn't carry. I called Pima Pain Center and was told that I would have to find it on my own. On the day the stitches were removed I asked Dr Shiller what was next and was told that was all they could do and good luck. So, if your goal is to visit a Medical Industrial Complex with horrible communication and one phone number, this is the place for you. Personally, I'm now going to Barrow Brain and Spine to see if they can actually help me.

I'm so glad I finally found the Pain Clinic of Southern Arizona as they have truly helped me to at least partially curb my pain without subjecting me to some of the intrusions other pain clinics impose. Due to the current political atmosphere surrounding pain medications I understand the necessity of frequent appointments and month to month prescriptions (as opposed to 90 day supplies). Like all pain clinics you are randomly selected to supply a urine specimen to prove you are taking your meds (unfortunately, as opposed to selling them). The staff and professionals are always friendly and appear to genuinely care about your condition. I've never had to wait very long beyond my scheduled appointment time before being called in to the exam room. Unlike some clinics they have never pulled any of the unethical practices other clinics do such as treating my pain for a few months and then saying its time to wean off pain medication altogether while offering no alternative to management. In fact, they have frequently offered to increase the dosage of my meds without my even asking. I cannot guarantee everyone will have the same positive experience here as each patient presents their unique set of circumstances and unfortunately there are many out there seeking these meds for both abuse and profit. As for myself, all I can say is that the Pain Center of Southern Arizona has definitely changed my life for the better.

He ended up discharging me from the clinic after he did that I had a life threatening situation occur for being under treated so I went to the ER and they were puzzled why I was discharged from the practice with my long history of a genetic disorder.
