I ended up getting to a point in said project where I needed more serious equipment versus the typical Home Depot-esque line of rental gear. This is where the Talisman Rental guys at the Canton location saved me. I had called ahead to make sure they had what I thought I needed. When I arrived and I discussed what I was actually doing versus just getting a tool and heading on my way, the two fine gentlemen working advised a better solution and explained why I needed such an item. They helped me load the piece of equipment into my piece of a car, and off I went. I spent the entire evening using the tool so that I could return it the next day. Yes, the machine wore me out, but that's the nature of the beast given the project I was attempting to DIY. Lesson learned. I wouldn't hesitate to use these guys again. They are knowledgeable, courteous, and we ended up chatting about things we had in common. Cool.

We just left the gate open for access and closed when we realized they left. As someone who loves to be in control of everything, that says a lot! Ok this could be a long review but I'll try to keep it short. I've rented equipment from several…read moreplaces around Hiram/Dallas/Rockmart, and have had various good and bad experiences. (Let me add I'm not a heavy equipment user, so I was fairly new to using most of the equipment I rented). I first started coming to Nickell in Hiram about a year ago. We had a pool installed in the backyard and the contractor did a horrible job of providing adequate drainage, and left my yard an absolute muddy and mountainous mess. Mud was sliding down into the new pool, they also almost killed several of my trees by leaving huge mounds of mud and dirt and rocks around them. Anyway, I went to Nickell to see what equipment they had. After finding out their awesome prices and selection, I ended up renting an excavator for a weekend to try to level up and move around some of the mountains of dirt the pool guys left, and then came back and rented one of their Toro "dingoes" to crunch up, strain out rocks, and generally level the whole yard. That dingo is amazing. Not only was the equipment exactly what I needed, they were in good shape, ran well, and of course they will deliver to your house if you need. The prices are unmatched at any other place I have used (I won't name names but we all know who rents equipment around here!). The managers and staff are great, very knowledgeable, and they will give you lessons and tips on what you need and how to use it. I can't express my thanks enough to these guys at Nickell. I'm about to do another driveway this month and guess where I'm coming to rent my equipment?!? You bet, already got it reserved. I've posted some before and after photos.

I called Sunbelt on the day they were suppose to pick up the lift and said, "can you please wait till the end of the day to pick up the lift?" They were so kind they even let us have it over night for no additional fee. You wont get that kind of consideration from Home Depot!!! You will find that prices are a little lower at Home Depot but the employees at Sunbelt are much more helpful and friendly and in the long run you will come out better price wise.
