I was also told the age of my tires might be leading to dry rot. (5 years) When I got out on the highway, the vibration was WORSE! I had to drive at a slower speed to a Subaru dealer in VA. They told me I had a bubble in one tire, & they were "feathering". I had them check the brakes, & they MEASURED the brakes pads at 3 mm, which indicated they needed replacing. Tires were on sale. So I replaced! My Master mechanic son-in-law, When he had taken a look at my tires & heard my story, said: "You need to find a new place to take your car." Wasted $175!

The last time they performed this, some of the lugs were just hand tightened. When I checked today, they were not 130lbs again SAFETY CONCERN. Next, when I was checking the torque, I noticed one of the lugs did not match the others. It was a 13/16 and not a 7/8 like all of the other ones. Just great, it had I gotten a flat tire in my truck, I would not have the appropriate socket to get the tire off and put the spare on. I called the store and talked to Joe, he said that they replace the lugs when they are rusty. Not a single one of my lugs has rust on it. I don't know why they would've switched it out. I hope the thread patterns are the same and not cross threaded now. Joe told me to come back into the store and he'll get me the correct size lug. Unfortunately, I can't do it today because that would be another hour round-trip. Had I had a flat tire, I would not have been able to get that tire off because I did not have that socket in my truck. I would've been stuck calling a tow truck. Staff are friendly and they always get me in right away. They need to work on their attention to detail. Peoples lives are at stake.

It is an end spot up near the street by the Spice/Tea Place, I started to pullout and thought I was by the nose of the curb and when my back tire tracked in, I caugght the curb just right 3 blocks later....I am changing my tire. I get the donut put on and of course nothing is open and I am supposed to be headed to Charlotte at 5 am, not happening. So I pull out my old trusty YELP app and look for tire places, BLACKS is all over town but, one place caught my eye. "Aspen Tire" 5 stars (Shut the front Door, No one gets 5 stars out side of restaurants) with 25+ Reviews, what have I got to lose. I get there at 10 till 8am and the bays are already hopping with the Tech's and management in the lobby, so I tried the door, crap still not open (8am on the Dot), so now I am going to be here till at least 10am and way behind on my scheduled trip to Clt. So go up to Trey at the counter and he is lackluster as you would expect for 8am lol, but he lets me know that he has some appointments ahead of me and he will get to it when he can. So I decided to go across the street to get something to eat, a coffee and hang out for about 15mins, come back across and have a seat for a long wait for my car. The it hits me, I have entered bizarro world, it is 8:28 am and Trey calls me and says my car is ready??!!!! I Look towards the front door and it is sitting right there. This is the way business should be done, set the expectation low and when you get it in advance of the expectation, you finish sooner and you look like a hero, and ASPEN is My Hero! The store is very presentable and they keep their lobby in pristine condition for customers who are waiting for work to be completed, but I didn't have to wait very long. I had to get the money situated to cover the tires, so they put the tires on hold for me up to a day, and offered a quote. I believe they even offer payment plans. When they lifted up my car to replace the tires, they reminded me that my steering wheel shaft was sketchy. I had been aware of the problem because my wheel stopped working at times, but they showed me the parts of the shaft that had come apart and explained in detail why it was unsafe and began to help me search for a place that could replace the part, or pieces of the part if I couldn't afford it. I wound up getting an incredible deal and I couldn't be any happier with how it drives now in comparison to how I used to prep myself for steering issues while driving. The employee who helped me with my search was quick, dedicated, honest, and focused. Another employee who helped me further the search had been working on cars for many years and had a wealth of knowledge on the topic. He worked very quickly and did an impeccable job! The whole stuff was funny, friendly, and great to speak with. Besides new tires they said we needed ball joints, struts, tie rods, sway bar links, bushings, trailing arms. We left without doing the work since our car ran fine. We brought it to another garage for tires which we did need and asked for them to inspect steering. They did not see anything wrong with any of the other recommended repairs and said we were scammed. Just to be sure we brought the car to our local Chevy dealer and gave them the list from Duke's. We were told that there's absolutely nothing wrong with our car! Beware if they fail your safety inspection and want to do repairs.
