I saw the medical assistant longer than I saw Cundiff and Cundiff didn't even bother to look at my throat or at my sinuses despite me saying my throat and sinuses hurt. This was a Friday and I was initially told that they'd call in a script for me, something I've taken before, because it should help the breathing trouble I was having. But, without notifying me, they changed that to an inhaler that my insurance didn't want to cover (and eventually 2 weeks later, they fully denied coverage of it). I had to call the on-call doctor, who was apparently in Arizona, to ask for what I was originally told they'd write a script for. I found out later that this on-call doctor, who I obviously was not examined by, "diagnosed" me with COPD. COPD has never been brought up by any doctor I've ever seen and, despite me telling Village Medical to remove this false diagnosis from my records, it's still there. The medication did not fix my breathing issues. The medical records they have show me taking that inhaler despite never even being able to pick it up. The level of communication with Cundiff, the clinic staff, and the regional management has been ridiculous. I would never recommend people going here. I picked Village Medical because they were supposed to be really queer and transgender friendly but they are not. The issues I had with being misgendered and the lack of compassionate care should really make anyone reconsider coming to any Village Medical center.

I asked did my doctor take my records with her? After many phoone calls it was worked out, but they insisted I was informed. I was not. I went for my yearly check up. The new doctor, who is very nice, asked me about how I was feeling. I told her I have seasonal alleries, but I had it taken care of. I told her what I was doing, and what I was taking. She said if I needed more help to reach out to her. That was it. They billed me $59.02 for that because seasonal allergies are not covered under the yearly check up. Now I know they go through everything word I say so they can code it and bill me, I will not go back. I was told if I don't like it, to take it up with my insurance company. This used to be a great practice. Since Village Medical took over it is horrible. I will never go back, and I will not recommend them to anyone.

Everyone was professional and kind - the receptionist at check-in, the MA, the anesthesiologist, the pre-op nurse Julie, the nurses in Short Stay, and the man who transported me to my car. The nurse who wheeled me back to the OR even made me laugh before I was out. I truly felt cared for and treated with respect. I liked the atmosphere so much that I decided to volunteer here.

The staff seemed pretty friendly and helpful. They poked me for an IV that they didn't end up using. That was a bit of an annoying. After a few hours they discharged me with a blank workers comp form which I discovered later after I returned to my job so I could speak to my boss and pick up my vehicle. I returned to the hospital regarding the blank form. They took the form then advised me the provider had already left for the day so it would be updated later in the patient portal. I thought ok fine. I left the hospital and returned home. I woke up in the evening the same day to discover the pharmacy closed so instead I went to the pharmacy in the afternoon the following day. The pharmacist advised me they had received only one of the two prescriptions I was ordered. When the pharmacy reached out the ER they were told that I was allegedly given a paper copy of the prescription therefore no digital order was sent. I say allegedly because I reviewed my discharge papers and everything given to me during my visit and found no prescription hard copy. To top it off the pharmacy advised me they no longer accept physical prescription copies. I then called the hospital to get it straightened out only to be passed around to different departments before finally speaking to the ER. They informed me the provider was in and that it would be sent to the pharmacy digitally. I thought great. I waited approximately 45 minutes before calling the pharmacy. The pharmacy then advised me they still had not received anything from this hospital. I'm very disappointed. It was my first visit to this brand of hospital and I gotta say after this experience I'm very disappointed. I've never had issues like this at any other hospital especially when it came to prescriptions. They really let me down by how disorganized they were and the way they handled my care. I'm currently looking for a pcp and have a new patient appointment scheduled soon with a provider through this network. I'm seriously reconsidering looking at other providers outside of UCHealth because they did not leave a great first impression with me.

Each time I saw him, he always had some derogatory remark about women, Hispanics or African Americans. When discussing an MRI on my back, he once told me that I was the "wrong color" to get disability (I am white). He also told me that he dabbled in dermatology and then pushed expensive derm products to me. I stopped seeing him when I was able to see a female clinician at a health clinic, but when she was unavailable, I was forced to see him again a year later for debilitating pain. He gave me a cortisone shot and did not tell me that it would not be billed through insurance. I was charged the full amount and when I questioned it, I was told, "there's a sign in the room" (which they refused to show me or let me take a picture of this "sign"). I then contacted my insurance and they told me that it was illegal for me to be charged without any submission to the insurance. I called the office and could not get a return call. They can expect a compliant through DORA.

I want to update my review of Dr. Kirk, after receiving more care from two other ophthalmologists…read more Where Dr, Kirk first failed was in not listening to me, especially to my descriptions of symptoms. When I first told him about my blurry vision (Jan. '25), he said that it had to be from Dry Eye because that was the only thing that would come and go. I tried to explain that it wasn't on and off - but like looking through a cloud or fog, with patches of lightness and darkness and varying degrees of clarity. He interrupted my description (and wrote "blurriness comes and goes" in my chart). Dr. Kirk did diagnoses of Glaucoma and Central Retinal Vein Occlusion (CRVO). He treated the glaucoma with some (though not lasting) success. He did not treat the CRVO, but recommended observation. And he continued to state that the blurriness was not due to either of those conditions, but solely due to Dry Eye, and that I should increase my use of lubricant eye drops. Now I have been to two other opthalmologists, the second one being a retina specialist. I have received more extensive diagnoses, including scans and pictures, and more extensive treatments. I have learned that Dr. KIrk erred in two ways: While he did diagnose CRVO, he deemed it only necessary to observe it. Not a good call. And he continued to tell me that my reduced vision was not related to the two conditions but solely to Dry Eye. THIS WAS NOT TRUE. While I continued to increase the lubricant drops at his recommendation, my vision continued to worsen. My new docs say that they will probably be able to stop that progression, but damage has been done that will not be entirely reversed. I repeat: Do not trust Dr. Kirk with your vision.
