There was never any problem or delay with communication when it came to arranging for the delivery. However, after I unpacked, I found one item from a spinning wheel that F&G should have placed in a box had been damaged. (Other items, such as glassware and a picture frame, also arrived chipped or broken, although I was not as concerned). More importantly, other items from storage did not arrive at all - including a Husqvarna chain saw, food processor, blender and KitchenAid mixer. (F&G packed up these items for me.) I emailed my contact, Pegi Q, twice to inquire about filing a claim, with no response. I wish I could write a more positive review, but I view the lack of follow-up support as unprofessional, and I hope that F&G will do better by others in the future as a result of this review.

The best way to sum things up is F&G is sadly "normal", meaning they suffer from the same societal disease diagnosed as lacking above and beyond customer service. You have to manage them - they won't manage you. Their communication, after the sale, was lacking expectation. Once paid in full, F&G never communicated again. Never told us "who" the contracted carrier was or how to reach them with questions. Never tracked our delivery or called to inform us the delivery date was extended (again) 2 days - a total of 3 days late. They were hands off with no attempt to illustrate an "extra mile customer service effort". We now wish we'd gone with the other, lower cost, local mover who we also used previously.

They changed the appointment a few times so at this point it aligned with the day I was packing a Uhaul to move out of my house. They parked the massive tractor trailer in my driveway leaving me no space for the Uhaul. After someone had already come out and checked out the items that needed to be moved, they sent only 2 guys. Long story short, it needed a 3rd person. We waited well over an hour for that 3rd person to show up. Did I mention that I'm also trying to move at the same time they are taking up the whole driveway? Time is money. Once they got the items on the truck, they were on their way. The guys doing the moving did a fine job. I negotiated for storage at their place. As others have noted, they really care mostly about the money. I had a handful of times been overcharged or charged for things that were not in our contract. They always gave me the credit back but who wants to sit there and monitor their account everyday because they cannot trust a local company? The storing of the object was fine. We did not have any damage and when we were ready to move all of them out, they were helpful.

They did okay with my move. It was just from one apartment to another about ten minutes away, so…read morenot a big job for them. They were friendly and easy to communicate with. I left them alone and let them do their thing for a few hours and just told them to text me when they were ready, which they did. After they were all done and I was setting up in my new apartment, the first thing I looked for was my air conditioner. It was a hot day and if I was gonna be working on setting up my new apartment I needed cool air. I couldn't find it anywhere, I couldn't even find any of my many fans. So I went back to the old apartment and found them all there. Why leave those? I told them the only things I didn't want them to move, the air conditioner and my fans were definitely not on that list. I understand saving those for last so you can have them running while you work, but why just leave them at the end? It's so strange. They left a number of other things I had wanted them to get as well, but easily the most annoying thing was the air conditioner. It's a big heavy one that sits on the floor, I was pretty annoyed that now I had to bring it down two stories of stairs when I had just paid these movers $1200 to do it. So that loses them three stars in my rating. I should also mention that days after our move we got an email from them offering us a $25 gift certificate to L.L. Bean in exchange for a positive review. I chose to write an honest review instead.

Our new home is LESS than 10 minutes away from our current home, yet they wanted to charge us over $200 just in travel fees alone! Then, they charge $231 per hour on top of that with a MINIMUM of 6 hours. UNREAL!!!! So, to move just a few large items less than 10 minutes away, which probably would have taken no more than 2 hours, it would have cost us nearly $2000 (the quote they provided us was $1700). What a joke!!!! We have since hired another local moving company, who will only be charging us a little over $400 for this move and have told us that it may even be less if they are able to do it faster, which is FAR more reasonable and is exactly what we expected to pay for this move. These people are Liberty Bell are greedy price gougers!!! No way would we ever pay that much for a local move! Hell, we have friends who moved almost 800 miles and they didn't even pay that much!
