Not a great service. I had requested a luxury sedan for my daughter and her groom on her wedding…read moreday, to take them from the venue, to the church, and back. I specifically asked for one I saw on the website. Tami stated that "it was the oldest and smallest but if that is what I wanted, that was fine". I said I did not see other sedans, only an SUV, which I did not want. She stated they were getting a newer one in soon. I told her that would be great. What picked up my daughter on her wedding day was a small crossover SUV. So plain and small, just an ordinary car. It was ridiculous. But of course, you are required to pre-pay the whole amount, so there is nothing you can do. The day after the wedding I emailed to express my disappointment. Tami asked what they could do to make it right. I requested a 50% refund. She agreed. I never got it, even though I have emailed two more times.

**review specifically of the notary office here***…read more Very friendly staff here at the notary office in Topeka. Every time I called, I got a live person (not a voice service) who was very informative, eager to help and friendly. I did everything over the phone and by mail to get my birth certificate Apostille, for dual citizenship purposes. Very straight forward and easy process . . . a piece of cake compared to the state of New Jersey (TRAIN WRECK) I was even able to request a new birth certificate and get it apostilled at the same time all over the phone/email. .. . remember you still must prove identification by drivers license AND PAssport (used in my case) which I faxed over to the office. I think it was $7.50 for the apostille and around $10 for the birth certificate this state was by far the easiest to get something apostilled and the cheapest ... NJ was the most expensive and the worst . . . but we'll save all that for another review

I was ready to love this hotel after seeing in our room the rain shower head. Hadn't tried one…read morebefore. It was a fail for me. We are both tall but it still required me to use a toothbrush holder to change the spray setting. Awkward. End results were poor at best. Desk clerk said as I checked out he thought the head would provide only the inner hard spray OR the light outer ring spray. Also he confirmed all rooms have this ceiling rain shower head. Showering took forever. Also the provided rectangle conditioner bottle was extremely difficult to squeeze to get any out and it is not a screw off cap for some odd reason. Last thing about the shower I swear - cleaning staff needs to give the walls a 2nd look before finishing their cleaning as I saw 2 sets of hairs on the shower's back wall at the 3-1/2 feet height. Very nice hotel though as it is kept in great condition and has a lot of amenities! Breakfast provided had all the usual selections from cold to hot offerings (cereal to waffles). Checking in I requested a hard floor pet room and was promptly switched. Very friendly and helpful clerk at the desk upon our arrival Hotel is located about 2 miles out from restaurants and shopping which we prefer so it was a very quick drive back down 6th to have supper.

I'm conflicted on how to rate this place. It's somewhere between 3 to 4 stars. If I could rate 3.5…read morestars I would. I can see that they're trying but there was just a lot of little things that added up to a reduced score. It's by no means a "bad" place to stay. There's just some things to keep in mind: - The beds are very firm. Some people may prefer that but my back started to hurt in the night. - The shower heads are not all rainfall (maybe some reviewers misunderstood). - Reservations and pre-paid room selections are picked out well in advance. On the upside, that means they're ready for you when you check-in... On the downside, that means you're unlikely to have much of a say in terms of location. - The walls between rooms are thin. When the air conditioner was off, we could hear our neighbors conversation. - Rooms can have minor defects. Ours had a broken electrical outlet cover (not a big deal). All that said, there's some impressive things going for it: + By FAR the best amenity is the proximity to Rock Chalk Park. The sports pavilion is absolutely epic. For 5 bucks per person, out of county guests get access to a TON of sports fields (indoor soccer, volleyball, basketball, tennis, etc). This was the highlight of the stay. + Breakfast is decent (standard Continental items) + Staff seemed friendly and helpful All n' all, I don't think it was a "bad" experience. I just think I may have gone into this expecting it to be a 4-star hotel when really, it's more of a super solid 3-star. Does that make sense?

We LOVED the food served for dinner and breakfast, and the pool was WONDERFUL, as was the hot tub. Tricia is just an amazing and wonderful woman and was so happy to help us in every way, in fact, everyone was incredibly welcoming and kind. When they hand you your keys, they say "Welcome Home", and they mean it! Very kind and open-minded people and I would highly recommend this bed & breakfast for anyone staying in Northeast Kansas! Oh and if you stay there, be sure to get the one-hour long massage for only $45 - their massage therapist is the BEST I've been to - in my life. Can't recommend highly enough! The only downside is that there are only privacy locks on the inside of the doors - at the time of this posting there was no way to lock the door from the outside leaving me a bit anxious about leaving my belongings in my room. However, nothing was stolen or anything, it was just different than most B&Bs or hotels.

People have been extremely friendly and courteous the whole time I've been here. Not a lot of cultural diversity here from what I've observed.
