Alas, I called several times the night I was looking for a place to stay in this area and got a busy signal each time. I didn't want to make a wasted stop only to find out maybe they were closed for the season or something so I found another motel, The Northland, and had a very nice stay there for the night. The location is great: Go 1/4 mile further on Wilder road and you are in a many restaurants/grocery/Menard's-Home Depot- Meijer-Ollies/gas stations area. I called a few days ahead and management was very accommodating about me bringing my car in early the day of my stay, and leaving it after hours the day I checked out. They didn't have to be so accommodating, and I appreciate it that they were. The room was the usual reliable Hampton and quality. A very comfortable bed with newer linens, a newer television, and furniture that was also relatively new. Hampton Inn typically requires their properties to refresh the rooms every couple of years I believe, so this was no surprise. I made use of the on-site gym and appreciated having it. None of the equipment was broken, and there was sufficient variety that I was able to get in most of my strength workout. I did not make use of the breakfast offerings, but did note that the usual good spread was available. Shower pressure was adequate and the bathroom toiletries were good quality. On site staff were pleasant to interact with and made me feel welcome throughout my stay. Would definitely stay here again.

The bathroom does need some attention. Floor tile looks new, but bathtub/shower clearly are not. Caulk along edges of bathtub is cracking. The soap dispenser was empty. While it isn't gross, some fixes are needed here. As small older motels go, this isn't bad. I've paid more for less, and will stop here again if I need to stay in the area.

There were no obvious bugs or anything crazy like that, but there was just a lack of consideration and thought behind the cleaning. For example, the alarm clock was off, no time showed. We were missing a Do Not Disturb sign. We could've easily fixed that, but it shows the disregard. The main reason we chose this place was because of its continental breakfast. But it is only open from 6:00-9:00, so we missed it. I wish the clerk would have mentioned this at check in (Staff was VERY nice, though, I'd say that was the biggest pro). $160 on a Saturday night was way too much for the quality.
