Taco salad. My wife didn't finish by any means.

A solid four stars for where it is and what they do. The food was good though not extravagant or terribly unique. My wife had to taco salad. Generous portion. Tasty but not overly spiced and perhaps a bit bland. I had a stuffed southwestern shrimp special which was good but maybe could've been served with some salsa to moisten things a little bit. One of my kids had the Northlake Burger. The bacon and sauce went well. This was just under $10. A regular cheeseburger with fries is just over six dollars. Better than paying 10 bucks for the same thing at one of the resorts. The chicken strip basket was just under $10. Nothing special, but again better than paying $14 at one of the resorts. The kids mac & cheese was pretty standard and five bucks for the kids meal. Again, better than paying eight for the same that the resort. Each dessert was about four dollars or a little bit more. You can see the pictures for yourself. They're all at least as good as any thing you would find in a chain restaurant like Texas Roadhouse.

No staff wearing masks, no customers walking in and out wearing masks either so I feel confident we didn't catch them on an "off" day.

I really enjoyed my meal. I recommend the grilled vegetable side and the burgers. Nothing extraordinary, but that's Baudette.

The New Moon Coffeehouse and Eatery proves you can find good food even in a small, isolated town…read more (That isn't a dig at Baudette, it's just reality. This is a small town on the Canadian border.) The New Moon is one of the best places in town, and it would hold its own in any city or community. It has a relaxed, sophisticated decor that feels right in a county defined by one of the nation's largest lakes. It's a popular gathering place for locals and the town's leaders. If you live here, you can't walk into this place without running into your neighbors and friends. And for visitors from both sides of the border, it's a great place to grab something to eat. The food, which the owners often put their own spin on, is always good. I have yet to eat something here I don't like. My favorite dishes include the Loaded Avocado Bagel, Gyro Wrap, South of the Border Salad and the Yodeling Turkey Panini. Each time I look over the menu, I discover something new. Like today, I just discovered they serve London Fog tea. They serve breakfast and lunch. Menu items include paninis, sandwiches, bagels, pastries, wraps, salads, non-alcoholic speciality drinks (hot, iced and blended), smoothies (in season) and more The New Moon is owned by local women who all grew up in Lake of the Woods County. They opened it in 2020 because they missed The Smiling Moon, a popular coffee spot that closed a few years ago. If you look around the New Moon today, you'll see subtle references to the former coffee shop besides its name. One is a sign from The Smiling Moon that's hanging from the ceiling. Another is the "The Leap of Faith" salad on their menu. (Note: I'm a journalist who has lived in Baudette for a couple of years. This is my honest opinion. No one paid or asked me to write this review.)

Just off Hwy 11 by a rent all. The library roasts it's own coffee for starter, you walk in and it has a Library feel to it. You order at the counter and take a seat in a couple different areas , kind of like a study room. The server brought our coffee (in our case) and when the food was ready She brought it to. To start the coffee was one of the best I've had in a long time. I ordered the build your own omelet, with toast. As we were waiting for our order I noticed that the place was filling up. I commented to Nancy "we beat the rush". The place is well known in town. Good food excellent coffee. Do not drive past this place you will be sorry you missed it.

We found out that all these books were up for grabs and donated here for people to take for free. I really love that. I honestly wish I had more time to browse, but the books were all jumbled up (unlike an actual library) and would literally take a whole day or more to browse thru. But, it was nice to know. In terms of dining in - you first order at the counter, take a number and they bring it to your table when it's ready. The food is really quite simple. You literally get what you order - nothing fancy. I personally ordered the omelette (with sausage/mushrooms) & a side of hash browns. The omelette was literally the sausage and mushroom in between a rolled up thin egg. The hashbrown was also just a jumble of fried thinly cut potato slices. It was really made so simply and different from what I expected, but it was fair considering that it was a good price for what they offered. I also ordered the cookie dough iced coffee. They had tons of torani syrups in the back, so I definitely knew that they were using these syrups to bring out the flavor. It wasn't super authentic flavor, but was a good option for a quick coffee run.
