Food is bomb and so is the service. Hands down one of my favorite places to grab lunch!

A solid four stars for where it is and what they do. The food was good though not extravagant or terribly unique. My wife had to taco salad. Generous portion. Tasty but not overly spiced and perhaps a bit bland. I had a stuffed southwestern shrimp special which was good but maybe could've been served with some salsa to moisten things a little bit. One of my kids had the Northlake Burger. The bacon and sauce went well. This was just under $10. A regular cheeseburger with fries is just over six dollars. Better than paying 10 bucks for the same thing at one of the resorts. The chicken strip basket was just under $10. Nothing special, but again better than paying $14 at one of the resorts. The kids mac & cheese was pretty standard and five bucks for the kids meal. Again, better than paying eight for the same that the resort. Each dessert was about four dollars or a little bit more. - Slow service. Beginning to think that's a norm here in Baudette. Waitress was nice but it seems like she was the only one there on a Saturday night. - Chicken fajita salad was all iceberg & the chicken pieces tasted nothing like fajita chicken. It was basically just grilled chicken. You should not have high expectations about food if you come to Baudette. Northlake Cafe were exceeding my expectations. I came here three times in the last 2 days and were always satisfied with the service, the food and the prices. It's a neat location for breakfast and lunch. read more

I really enjoyed my meal. I recommend the grilled vegetable side and the burgers. Nothing extraordinary, but that's Baudette.

We stopped in for brunch here this past spring. It was lovely. Best pancakes I have ever tried. Service was good.

Food was ok. Nothing to write home about. Everything seems a bit old and not terribly clean. Staff was very friendly to the locals but to us not so much. We'll probably try somewhere else next time we're in Baudette. read more

I should not do a review when a little angry at the business but I am. Just ate lunch here alone and a group of 9 of us ate here yesterday for lunch. We came in at a busy time for lunch yesterday as both the front section and dining hall were busy. Having a little slow service was to be expected. But today I sat in the dining room with one other couple and the front section was not busy and maybe 2/3 full. Right off the bat my server was disappearing for a long time. The lady in the party of 2 by me commented that we may never see our server. This lady went and found her, server, and I at least got my drink and an appetizer. My drink was empty when the drink came but I never saw a refill until after I finished my appetizer and I got up and asked the cook to please send me a server. I got my refill and finally and placed a sandwich order. No more refills were forthcoming and I sat bored for a long time waiting on my bill once done. I left a 10% tip which it more than I should have and I always prefer to leave at least 20%. Get it together Northlake. read more

One of Baudette's best kept secrets. Having recently discovered this restaurant but each time the food has been excellent. Good variety of noon specials. Roast beef hot sandwich last night couldn't have been better and add a piece of their bread pudding; to die for. I would highly recommend you try. read more

Actually I would have to say that I don't mind the food, or the service, or the price. Until today, myself and my fiancé and both her kids and both her parents stopped for a celebratory dinner, all was well. The waitress whom we found out later was apparently new, came and took our order, a little slow but if she was new then of course she would be. When she came back she brought our appetizer, pepper jack mac and cheese bites, very good by the way! But didn't bring the daughters salad as an appetizer as she was told, but then she starts bringing the rest of the food and right away the first dish was wrong out of 6 people there was something wrong or missing on 4 of them. Ok, so I myself spent 9 and a half years running a successful restaurant, and stuff happens and when something is wrong a person should be able to bring it to the attention of someone. Not so much the case, my fiancé went to the counter to let them know about another issue with our food and then had asked the waitress upon her return to the table if portions had changed on the waffle fries, just a question and all of a sudden she goes back and sends out Joe. Now Joe is a cook and the owner, Joe is also the real reason for this review being so bad. Upon reaching the table Joe(the owner) starts to raise his voice and inform my fiancé that she is a problem and that non of the wait staff even like to see her come in let alone wait on her, however she knows and is friends with several of them and told him this, loudly! Told her she has a problem every time she's in and that she was apparently rude to the waitress, when kn fact all she had done was bring daughter number twos cheese quesadilla up and told them there was tomatoes in it and we ordered it without. Now , I guess that is being rude according to Joe, myself and the rest of the family were in awe of Joe the owners belligerent outburst of calling my fiancé names and putting her down like a piece of dog crap. We immediately left, putting our food in to go containers, we will not be back, sadly, as we like the food there! read more
