When I was 63, upon retiring after 40+ years in commercial construction, my first splurge was not on a grand vacation or a big house project, both activities my wife and I often discussed and planned, but was focused on eradicating the increasing pain in my lower back and hips, which sadly made those other dreams seem unattractive and increasingly unobtainable. So my first retirement "project" was a series of stem cell and PRP treatments over several months; although it did help, the relief obtained wasn't to the level that I still hoped was possible, and seemed necessary to regain my confidence in taking on high-level physical activities. So I next went for the total hip replacement, tackling the worst side first; thankfully it did take care of that hip's pain... but my back pain was still nagging me, and the hip surgery had so greatly reduced my lower-body strength that I'd not regained much enthusiasm for those other dreamed-for activities. What finally seemed to stem the tide, thankfully, came from almost off-handed recommendations from both providers: "you should find a good physical therapist". I was skeptical, having tried a few PT providers when my back first started really hurting 10+ years prior... but I'd only seen limited improvements. I decided to give PT one more shot, however, because I'd recently heard such good things about Take Charge Physical Therapy from a long-time friend who had suffered from debilitating back and neck pain for most of her adult life, finally obtaining relief from their practice. So I started with Take Charge in August 2022, and to my surprise, started to see improvement in both pain reduction and returning strength/function of my lower body, even within a few months, which of course motivated me to continue. Soon it became obvious that Katya's PT treatments would be the primary driver in my steady return to where I was enjoying my ranch work and travel again, regaining the confidence and capacity that I used to take for granted when I was younger. My wife I are now enjoying our travel dreams, and I'm doing ranch projects I've been hesitant to tackle for years. Looking back, I'm convinced that most of my progress to healing has been due to Katya's care at Take Charge, even to the point that I think I may have even obtained this level of success without the stem/PRP and the hip replacement... or at least I'm now convinced that I won't need to replace the other hip. And currently, although I'm at a point of self-sustaining care, I still look forward to Katya's treatments, not only because of her role in addressing those little surprises that show up in the aging process, but also because of her depth of knowledge in anything related to muscles, tendons, and bones (to be expected from a doctorate of physical therapy from CU Anschutz), and so many other facets of overall healthily living. For any of my friends who seriously want to reduced nagging muscle pain and to address their overall health, I can't recommend Katya enough.

About the only medication that seems to lower the pain enough to sleep well is 100 mg of Tramadol before bed. Katya has been working on my feet with needling and massage for blood flow, and the results have been astonishing. For the first time in years, I am able to sleep and walk around without pain medication. I simply cannot recommend her enough.

For the better part of my mother's life she served as an elementary school teacher. As we all know,…read moreschool teachers are on their feet most of their days. As a result, my mom developed chronic Musculo-skeletal problems, some of which required surgical remedy. The most recent was a Total Knee Replacement (TKR) surgery, which is what I will be addressing in this review. From the moment that I wheeled my mom into the office for her initial visit with Amy, I knew that we were in good hands. My mother was extremely sore from the surgery, which is to be expected, and the staff treated her with the utmost respect and sensitivity. They explained that the journey to recovery was by no means going to be easy or pain free. They emphasized the importance of maximizing the mobility of her new knee before scar tissue could develop and that strength and conditioning would follow. My mother and I looked at each other in a way that only a son and mother could, and I said, "This ain't gonna be fun" to which she paused, then begrudgingly shrugged in agreement. She then looked down at the floor, took a breath and a moment, then her eyes rose to meet mine and she said "I think I can do this." I am sure everyone is familiar with the term "helicopter parent" and what it means. I am coining the phrase "helicopter child" as I am absolutely an overbearing and hyper-watchful child when it comes to the medical care of my parents. That said, I was obviously going to be present when my mom was scheduled for her twice-weekly appointments with her therapist (that I was skeptical of), Len. It turns out, my skepticism was completely misplaced. Len is one of the kindest, most thoughtful human beings that I have ever met. He truly possesses a servant's heart and there isn't a mean bone in this man's body. My mom can be an absolute pain in the butt, especially when she is in pain or under duress, and Len cared for her with the highest standard of care available from the first moment on. Did he push her to her limits? Absolutely. But he was next to her the entire time, constantly encouraging her, coaching her, and guiding her through the pain. Len, I am forever indebted to you for the degree to which you helped my mother. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. This review is intended to inform the public, outside of the control of the care provider, of the exceptional level of care that their employees are providing to the people. Your service providers, Wendy, Amy, Len, Mickey, and Bridgett, are all world-class. I would trust no one else with the physical rehabilitation of my loved one.

be cautious about the billing. they bill way after treatment and I ended up with a 800 dollar…read moresurprise bill. each appointment ranged from 150 to 487 dollars.
