I never went to a service here but I have went to their events around October and December very nice clean church very welcoming people the layout is so nice they have coffee shop and even a play ground here for kids for last 5 years I been coming here for events they welcome everyone. Beautiful community based church. I haven't felt this welcomed by a church since I lived in Alabama. The pastors are people first and the teaching is meaningful. This church is amazing! They are very friendly, welcome to everyone and what I like the most about the church is on Sunday service they stay true to the Word. Pastor Ken will sometimes bring up the latin word found in the original bible and break down the meaning of the scripture. Every month they have a new series, each one better than the last. I have been a few times. I found myself uplifted by the music and my heart opened to listen to pastor's message. I think that is the feeling a church should give you in it's service. It has a hip and cool factor to it, but geek and grown-up alike - all are comfortable here. Give God a try here and you will be nourishing your heart and soul. Jesse leads the music, pastor Ken takes you to a good place with his sermons... This is a great place to try - you will come away moved and changed, though perhaps not everyone's church. I can't even make it inside the building without being told by 1 or more greeters that I look great. Every service has a welcoming crew that make you feel like you are God's masterpiece. The hospitality goes the extra mile. It's uplifting when the struggles of life get me down and I get to church and the songs we are singing are reaching me way past the capacity I imagined. I decided not to wait for people to notice me or speak to me first, I have a plan to be the first one to strike up a conversation. What better place than church? What a waste if I was waiting for someone to talk to me and that someone was doing the same thing by waiting for me to talk to them. Somebody has to make the first move. The hospitality is magnified with free coffee or teas and an area with seating in a delightful cafe. The devil wants to feed us discouraging thoughts about church so we won't go. He don't want us filled with joy and peace because that would mean we are trusting in God and not the Devil's lies, deception, and discouragement. Remember the muck of life is hard to see through and to find a reason to have hope for things to get better. Like my mother always said, "you're not gonna get your blessing sitting at home!" On the 24th Of December Sunday morning 9a.m. I was there at the Northgate Christian Followship at Benicia. I was disappointed because the gate was close and I didn't have any clue how to enter the Church. The Church has a code to go through from the gate and I stayed there till someone open the front gate. I never seen a Church has a gate in front of the Church. Anyway, I waited 20 minute to 30 minutes to see one of the member of the Church open the front gate, but no one didnt show up so i left the Church. read more

Not really friendly to older people. It is typical though, most churches are targeting a younger crowd. The worship team was very accurate but not doing anything that people could sing along with. It was my third time and the last two times, no one spoke to me, not unusual being an older single man. ken is truly on a mission but unless you are a family with kids, probably not much there for you. I was there for two hours today and not one person spoke to me. I won't go back. It's a big deal to raise money for a new building. What for I don't know. read more

I started to strengthen my walk with God in November 2014. I visited a few other churches around the area but none other moved me such as Northgate. Pastor Ken, and the WHOLE Northgate family are so welcoming and so accepting no matter who you are and where you come from. Everyone literally greets you with smiles as soon as you step foot on that premises! Before each service, you can hang out in the lobby and grab a cup of coffee, tea, hot chocolate, as well as some pastries. For new comers, they have an awesome giveaway so make sure you visit Vanessa in the front. This is my favorite place to be on Sunday morning. Great music and the people are very friendly. Many activities and classes for the whole family to join to get to know your neighbors and God. They have a wonderful Sunday school and day care for the young children. When you do come, the only thing required is--have a great time and hopefully give a dollar to the dollar club. The money collected for the dollar club is given to a family in need. It's a win win! read more

Ken Jensen is the best speaker there is, he keeps it simple, his messages are easy to understand, and practical. Its the best part of our week for my 6 year son and I, its a way of life for us we are very lucky. First time coming to this church. Found it was only ten minutes from my house in Vallejo! At first glance, we pulled in the parking lot, and it looked like a very modern church. My wife and I walked in, and several people greeted us on the way in. The sanctuary was very nice with a modern look! The worship team was also very, very good. They also had video announcements and all the modern things that a church would need. Looking into the bulletin, they have lots of classes and small groups, along with Jr. High and High school weekly meetings as well. Pastor Ken, the senior pastor gave the message. It was very clear, and was also very biblically grounded and sounded. All in all, the whole experience was very good. I definitely would go back again. If you are looking for a modern church to go to and you are raising a family, I think this would be a great community to be a part of. I grew up in church but I never felt what I feel here at Northgate. I feel home when I'm here. Beautiful worship- Jesse has a beautiful voice and I'm always crying during worship cause it's so wonderful. Pastor ken gives wonderful sermons that are easy to understand and encouraging. My ONLY complaint is the announcements. I don't like having my worship experience interrupted for them. But it's a small price to pay. Everything else about this church is great. I recommend it to anyone looking for a church. Thank you northgate! read more
