Tried heavy trimming but to no avail. They had to come down. I had many solicitors over the past two years, offering a wide range of solutions with a wide range of costs. Unfortunately, I was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth. I happened upon Maguire's Family Tree Service through a glance at Facebook community page, along with several other tree services. I contacted all of them and they all responded, but when Joe (Maguire) came out, he offered me many options with solid costs for each option. He was down to earth and I liked his presentation. He doesn't have some of the large 'toys' that others have, but he has grit, determination and a good eye for the job. I researched for reviews and couldn't find much, but I still hired his company. His office staff (Felicia, the missus) is extremely competent and efficient. When Joe and Tod finished the job of several tricky tree removals, the work area was clean and the quality of work was on time and exactly what I wanted. They did a wonderfully professional job. We had Southern NH Tree take down a bunch of very old pines- they were giant, close to the house,…read moreand giving us anxiety every storm, and one was actually pushing over our barn. Several other companies had told us "nope" because of the trees' locations (we also had power lines to deal with), but Keith came out several times and walked the site with us and came up with a plan. He also suggested we wait until the ground froze- I'm SO glad he did! The equipment (they had to use a giant crane) didn't damage the lawn or landscaping at all. The team showed up early, got everything set up quickly, and got straight to work. I think they ended up taking down around 20 trees using the crane- watching the crew at work was very impressive! They team was on site for two days, and they were all super professional, very friendly, and worked very hard the whole time. The results are amazing- our yard looks like it doubled in size, and the sunshine is already coming in. SNH Tree's team did an incredible clean up job- I swear they picked up every branch and pine needle that fell. They took care of all the logs, brought their own chipper and took care of the chips, etc. You'd never know that they were here, except for the trees being gone! And they even used their bobcat to scrape our driveway of all the ice (thank you!!). I would recommend these guys in a heartbeat, and would definitely have them come out again if we needed more tree work. Thank you Southern NH Tree!!

After failing to make any progress with another tree service business, I contacted Southern New Hampshire Tree Service and haven't had any better luck with them. I called on July 23 and Keith, the owner, came out the next day to assess the scope of work I was requesting. He repeatedly stated that "this is a big job" (and that is true, my property has been neglected for 13+ years & I have many trees, of varying sizes, to remove). He suggested that I get estimates from at least 3 to 4 different businesses and left without providing his estimate. I was dumbfounded and wasn't sure what to do next (I had the distinct impression that he wasn't interested in doing the job). Being as he came on a Friday, I had to wait out the weekend before I could contact him again. When I did call him, on July 27, Keith told me that he'd have to rent a crane to do the job and that would increase the cost considerably so he'd said that he would send me a list of other businesses, that own their own cranes, for me to contact. As I write this, more than two weeks after, I have not received any information from them. Since this is the 2nd tree service to have failed me, I'm, maybe foolishly, beginning to think it might be personal (perhaps because I am disabled).

They did contact me as they ran about 20-30 mins later than expected time but I was still thrilled as I called on a Monday late afternoon and my junk was gone by Tuesday morning!! They arrived and went right to work extracting the old furniture from my home and did so efficiently and very quickly. I am so glad I called them and will definitely call the next time I need any type of junk removed.
