The Clark Summit location, my new glasses dug into my nose.I went back 5 times for adjustments. The 4th time they said if still bad,they'd send them back with new frames. 5th time they made excuses not to. During the attemps, a blister formed,got infected.Had to go on meds to clear up the facial cellulitis it caused. NOTE. Let me point out that the glasses I went with suggested by their staff. For eye exams and such I still trust them. But for glasses, NEVER AGAIN!! read more

Used to be really happy with this place, but after they changed ownership things have really gone downhill. Got new lenses back in September. Was told I owed $XXX. Bill was paid. Not the slightest hint of possible future charges. Was told I owed a specific amount and the transaction was done. Now months later I'm told I owe an additional $150. Absolutely ridiculous. And to make matters worse, Northeastern Eye Institute absolutely refuses to discuss with me. I've been given the run around and ignored. Was told on the phone I'd get call backs. No calls. Tried to message via facebook and their website. No surprise no contact there either. My family and I had been going there for years, but we will not be returning and definitely not recommending. read more

Overall appt was fine, but then I received a bill for $50 after I was told my routine eye exam would be covered under my insurance. The $50 was for "contact lense fitting" aka a new prescription of the same lenses I already use. When I tried to clarify this with the business office, I was met with an extra rude lady that stated that charge is for a new prescription. I've never been charged just for getting a prescription before. Will not be going back to this office, they are scamming people. read more

Worst experience! Dr. Christopher Jordan is not willing to listen to concerns and symptoms and caused a lot of issues for me. Additionally his medical coordinator Michelle is extremely rude and giving false information for surgery. She goes to an extend where she actually so belittles you and raising her voice when you, the patient is asking questions. I heard even from staff members how she is just a bad person they do have to work with. Talked to a neighbor months ago who lost his eyesight due to them. I was limited as very few options here in Scranton so I went to them and regret deeply. read more

I could not have had a WORSE experience with the SCRANTON office. Earlier this week my 4 year old CHILD was scratched in the corner of her eye , which ended up swelling to the point where she couldn't open her eye the next morning . My 2 friends who are NP's told me to go right to Northeastern eye that they send patients there frequently for those types of injuries and one even had her 4 year old seen over the summer with the same type of injury. Well, I walk in with my daughter , who as you can image, was scared , The lady at the receptionist was incredible rude because I didn't have an appointment. I told her I was told my friend who works as a NP's at Geisinger's ER told me to go there and not the ER. She rolls her eyes and sends me up to the second floor where I'm met with yet another RUDE woman who walks me back to a third lady. I can hear them whispering about me and my daughter and they figure out what to do with us . This lady told me she would need to speak with Dr. Lisa ( not sure if her last name ) that she was the doctor on call. She sent us to the waiting room. Well Dr. Lisa never even showed her face to me or my daughter , just said she can't help us because they don't see anyone under the age of 5. Which I know is a lie since I personally know 2 people who in the last 6 months walked into the Scranton office with children under 5 and were treated . I was on the verge of tears from seeing my child unable to open her eye, and having all the possibilities rattling around in my heads and getting not only getting no help, but being treated so poorly with a young child. This was DISGUSTING behavior , in my opinion and these people should be ashamed . My daughter got in the car and said " mommy why wouldn't they help my eye ?" Trying not to break down in front of my child, my friend who had her daughter treated there previously told me the Dr who she worked with and said he was wonderful and he also works at the Clark summit office . So I called the Clark summit office and it was like night and DAY! The staff in Clarks summit told us to come up right away. They too didn't know why scranton refused to see us and apologized for their behavior. Everyone there was so kind and welcoming . The girls gave my daughter stickers and sunglasses and helped calm my daughter's nerves . We saw doctor Boland and he was FANTASTIC! He was so thorough and took the time to explain things , gave us an antibiotic and sent us on our way. I am very thankful that for Dr. Boland and the staff in Clarks summit . They helped me and my child when we needed it . As for the Scranton office and Dr. Lisa , they should be ashamed to treat a child like that. That is why I gave them 2 star. I normally never write reviews but I am still livid over the way they treated us . As for the Clark summit office and Dr. Boland, I'd give them 5 stars. read more

Dr. Giacometti was fantastic from the day I met him until the the day of my procedure.. I give him 5 stars For Colleen I give 1star. My problem was with the surgical coordinator Colleen Dean. I had to call 9 times in 3 weeks. Finally I got a response and she asked did I have her direst line? Is she that stupid? Does she think I wouldn't have called if I had it? Terrible Service! Called several times and left message for appointment, no response. Submitted form online, no response. Spoke to someone finally at front desk and she had no idea what I wanted as I was interested in refractive lens replacement surgery. She then forwarded my call to Lasik staff and I left a message there and once again I received no call back. I NEVER received such poor service anywhere. My husband was seen at the Clarks Summit office. The doctor was fine. His care was good. He picked out a pair of glasses afterwards with his insurance benefit & without being measured for pupillary distance or frame width or anything, the optical technician let him pick out child frames without advising him that they would not fit his face properly (they seemed to fit ok & he truly didn't realize that the lenses were too close together in trying them on for 2min in the office). They did not say anything.. just took them & ordered them. When he tried wearing them for a full day at work & realized he didn't have full range of vision, he took them back in. over a month and a half to get a pair of glasses. This is 3 sets of glasses I have gotten from the Pittston location. First set was not cut right and took forever to get them. I then ordered 2 pair so I would have reading and computer glasses they were also not correct . The third set was sent out about 2 weeks maybe longer when they came back they were wrong. Sent them out to get the tint done 2 weeks they came back not tinted sent them out agin going on 2 weeks still no glasses. Called and wanted to speak to the District Manager not once but twice no return call or glasses as of today. horrible service going on for multiple years. I do not blame the ladies at the Pittston location. will be canceling my order and want my money back going some where else read more

This USED TO BE the best eye care anyone could ask for or want. Some BIG company bought them and NOW it takes 10-25 minutes to connect to alive agent, who is loacated about 1000 miles away (Maryland). The doctors are still the same and ONCE you get an appointent they are still fantastic, BUT the biggest mistake the Jordans did was sell to this robot contoled company. my 91 year old mother who has difficulty walking usually saw a doctor in the Scranton office. we live 5 minutes from the Peckville office and I was told to call and make an appointment but make sure that she was able to switch doctors. made the appointment and took her there to the Peckville office. checked her in and some woman came out saying "your momis a dr jerry patient, we can't see her today here ". !!!!!! 91 years old!!! what's the difference???!!! left and call main number and tried to complain. monica then tells me that they should have seen her!!!! no more!!! read more

I have a floater and called in the morning, they saw me the same day about an hour after I called. I have to go back in a week to make sure my eye is still ok. I have a rare visual issue that no doctor, optometrist or ophthalmologist could diagnose for decades. I went to see Dr. Art Jordan, and after some fairly rigorous tests, he was able to diagnose me. On a more basic level, my experience with the staff...getting an appointment, getting prepped for the visit, how I was treated when I arrived, and of course the other professionals that helped Dr. Jordan with the tests, was all top notch. They were all professional, friendly, and kind. I can't praise them enough. read more

I had a floater in my eye so made an appointment to get it checked. Was concerned about glaucoma or macular degeneration. I have eye insurance and gave the staff my insurance card for eye and medical. They told me a 50 dollar copay, even though I have one free eye exam a year. After they confirmed the "floater" they told me this was not an eye exam, this had to go thru my medical insurance. Then they withdrew 50 dollars from my credit card on file without my authorization!!! Floater still there, no treatment, and a rip-off. Go elsewhere. It's a scam business. read more

People nice but wait time is 1.5 to 2 hours for a simple eye exam and prescription. Good doctors but if you are going for a routine eye exam, go somewhere else. The wait is not worth it. read more

I picked up glasses on Thursday, 04 March 2021. Today is Saturda, I called to see when I could come into have my NEW glasses adjusted...last night I discovered I have a sore on my ear....I can't have them adjusted...I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL MONDAY! I have an appt with dr. Brad on Tuesday....I will explain to him what happen. Depending on the response is whether or not I will be finding a new facility. worst place ever. equipment was so filthy that it was hard to see thru for exam. I was rushed because i couldnt decide which smudged lens was better for my vision. when i stated that the lens was dirty, the doctor tried to wipe the lens, but it didnt help. called to complain about headaches and eye strain and not having any distance in my glasses but kept getting a run around until time to return had expired. I asked for a mangers number and was given an incorect number, called another office location and the so called manager could not be found in system. that employee promised to call me back when they found a number i could call to file complaint, but of course no one ever called. Now i suffer from headaches daily from straining to see out my glasses. everything is so blurry!!. would not recommend this place at all. no care to our vision, only interested in getting money. such a shame. read more

As mentioned by others, this place is not known for their welcoming nature/attitude towards patients/customers. rude rude rude from the time you enter the building to check in counter to nurses to physician to checkout clerk.... must be their mission/goals or that they don't care about press ganey.... they are not known to be respectful of your time either. Very rude doctor, Flickenger. He had three people in my family back to back so he had an hour and a half of time. Did mine and my wife's exams first, which took about fifteen minutes each. When my daughter was getting checked he needed to put drops in her eyes. She was afraid and kept flinching, the first time for any eye drops or anything. I was trying to calm her and help. He wouldn't let her or I put them in, and then he says I have eight more people today I don't have time for this. I looked at him and said two of them are right here and are already done, with an hour to spare. The drops got done and he left for a minute, and they were taking my wife and daughter somewhere to get another test. I said it was good cause I was going to have a chat with the doctor about his comment and what I thought of him. He was outside with the door open and heard every word. He didn't come back, stayed in the hall, till my wife and daughter came back. He at least acted more professionally then. I'll finish getting the glasses and all but won't be back. Matter of fact I need to see another eye doctor, cause my prescription hasn't changed in over fifteen years, but all of a sudden it's way different. I don't trust him at all and will just pay out of pocket to see another doctor and forget these people entirely. read more

BEWARE!! CROOKS!! Only printed the first page of our insurance benefits to avoid answering questions!! Charged $468 for eyeglasses that should've only been $203!! It took 2 calls to our insurance and 3 calls ending with a manager on their end to finally get our problem resolved. DO NOT TRUST THEY HAVE YOUR BEST INTERESTS AT HEART!! Always ask questions! Like my insurance agent said it's a retail store posing as a private practice. Don't pay out of pocket for what your insurance covers at any reputable eyecare facility. I have been going to NEI for the majority of my life. Each time I arrive, no matter which location, I am greeted by a friendly member of the front desk staff. On most occasions, I am seen right away but there have been a few times where I've had to wait for 5 - 10 minutes to be seen by a Doctor. However, I cannot complain about this waiting period because these Doctors pay attention and provide exceedingly impressive care and that takes a bit of time. All-in-all I'd highly recommend NEI to anyone. read more

First: The Doctors are very good, no problem. BUT the optometry people that measure you for glasses are a JOKE!! 700.00 dollars for glasses that are incorrectly measured, is a disgrace! I went to Costco in Jersey,Walmart in PA,and BOTH optometrist said the glasses are fitted and alined incorrectly!! So I went back to Peckville office and told them that two other optometrist say the glasses are made wrong.They acted nonsalonat,and said they would make them over.I SHOULD HAVE TO GO TROUGH THIS!!! I absolutely love NE Eye. I have been a patient of Dr. Flickinger since I was a kid, now 35, and I am always treated like a family member. I am promptly called back from the waiting area at every appointment and immediately placed in a room in which Dr. quickly enters. When ordering contacts, the process is simple and they are either always in stock or in stock within days. Frames are fairly priced and lenses are quickly administered as well. Staff is always warm and welcoming and extremely helpful. Parking is easy and hassle free in downtown Scranton. I will always recommend NE Eye Scranton as I will always be a patient. read more

I was very surprised at the negative reviews for Northeast Eye. I have been seeing Dr. J since 2009 when I had an eye injury. I am always seen quickly and have never encountered a rude person, whether at the desk or in the exam rooms- and believe me I have had my head stuck in every piece of eye equipment they have! They were quick to admit that my injury was so serious that I needed a top specialist and referred me to Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. Since then they have monitored my condition and Dr. J completed my after-surgery for the scarring left by the injury and implanted a lens to improve my vision. I have no pain anymore, and do not need glasses. I really feel they saved my eyesight and I would not hesitate to recommend them. My only criticism is that they do cancel appointments on the day of, which I guess is understandable when your doctor is called to emergencies. read more

It took her 5 minutes to go through her schedule and said she couldn't fit me in until November!I then went to the administrator to complain and while she promptly got me in she lied to me and said I was not forgotten about it is just certain procedure require different times. NEI is nothing but an assembly line! Women at desk can't be bothered; you stand there and are completely ignored until they are ready. No " I'll be with you in a minute". My husband glasses came back with no prescription and when he complained the tech told him to wear them for a week. NEI doesn't make the glasses but tech never even checked prescription. Back to Scranton-wait another week...Husband still had problems... Went elsewhere; prescription was not correct. NEI is very pricy also. Don't waste your time. Or money. read more
