My visit to Dr. Grady's office was terrible. I was referred to their office after finding a concerning lump, and as a 27 year old, am too young to be concerned about these types of things. Dr. Grady himself was fine, decent, polite, and professional, but his staff was far from that and had horrible bedside manner.
As I was getting my 3D ultrasound, the two women performing it, kept making comments like "Wow! You're such a baby! You're so young! You shouldn't be having problems!" Which I was well aware of myself and didn't need the extra reminders of how I shouldn't even be having problems or making a visit to their office. Instead a little reassurance and compassion would've been nice. The two women then spent the 20 mins I was in the room, lying completely exposed on the table, walking in an out of the room as they please, and even leaving the door to the hallway wide open, until they decided to come back in the room. All decency and respect was thrown out the window, especially when they spent the majority of the time gossiping about their fellow staff, Dr. Grady, and they would not stop complaining. The woman performing the ultrasound even made a gasp and said "Oh Dear Lord!" when she came across the concerning lump. After my 3D ultrasound, I was told by Dr. Grady that my lump was still concerning, so I needed further testing with a regular ultrasound and possibly a biopsy. Unfortunately their machine was broken and I had to wait for them to call me when it was fixed. I then had to pay a large amount upfront, when I normally never do with my insurance coverage.
The following week, I called to followup since I hadn't heard from them, leaving a message and they never called me back. I then was persistent and called the next day, in which I had a very rude interaction with the woman on the phone. At this point, I had enough and wanted to go elsewhere for the further testing that was recommended. A week also felt like an eternity to wait when you are told something is wrong with you. Dr. Grady's office finally called to schedule my needed ultrasound another week later, which I scheduled in case I couldn't get into a different Dr's office sooner. After I got an appointment elsewhere and they were losing my business, I called Dr. Grady's office to cancel.
I was then referred to Dr. Sandberg and she was a little confused as to why I was getting further testing done, as she thought my 3D ultrasound and report that was forwarded from Dr. Grady's looked fine. She did an ultrasound, was extremely informative, and told me I was completely ok!
The next day, I received a phone call from my family doctor, the one who originally referred me to Dr. Grady's office and then to Dr. Sandberg. They were confused as to why I thought I needed to see Dr. Sandberg or get further testing because they got a report from Dr. Grady stating that I was completely fine, my first ultrasound was normal, and there was no need to do another ultrasound or get a biopsy. So basically, Dr. Grady's office took advantage of a scared patient, and tried to do unnecessary testing and imaging, just so they could make more money. This only worked until their business went elsewhere and then the truth came out. Their morals and bedside manner are disgusting and I wouldn't recommend anyone to go to this office... unless you want to be scared, uncertain, and drained of money. read more
