I recently had a wedding at Lake Almanor. I had a wedding designer who requested that I get a month of coordinator to pair with her services. We ended up choosing North State Events based on services offered, had lots of experience, flexibility to work with us and our budget, and cost - we felt that NSE had by far the best value for the money than other options. We are SO happy we chose North State Events to work with. We worked with Ashley, the owner. At the time of meeting with Ashley, we were already behind scheduling key vendors on what is one of the busiest wedding weekends- Memorial weekend. We were able to tap into Ashley's vast network of wedding vendors as well as just her personal advice to nail down some important vendors like our DJ, bartender, cake, and caterer. Ashley helped organize and guide us to wedding week by setting up periodic phone/zoom check-ins to discuss things like timeline, gave us access to some wedding planning check-list, and via email communication (always very responsive). We felt well prepared and fairly stress free going into wedding day knowing that we had everything planned. Part of Ashley's process is to check-in with vendors a month before the wedding. In doing so Ashley uncovered that there was a date error in scheduling our caterer! Our BBQ caterer had us down for the wrong date and did not have any availability on our actual wedding day. Luckily Ashley was working a BBQ caterer for another wedding and quickly connected us with them. The new BBQ caterer's food was every bit as good as the first with even better service and at the same cost! The actual wedding day went off flawlessly. Ashley worked directly with all of our vendors for set up. I felt like we were in great hands, a totally worry free morning for me. Ashley with the help from her team member Jen, perfectly navigated the unusual rain showers by calling when to start the ceremony. If we had waited any longer there would have been rain. Our wedding was a dream, I still can't believe how amazing it turned out. It was everything I could have asked for and more. Ashley and Jen were a joy to work with. She was happy to give her opinions if I didn't know what I wanted and I trusted her direction and advice. She was very professional, collected, and a great leader and communicator when it came to organizing and instructing the vendors, guests, and wedding party throughout the day. She was very well organized. I just didn't really have to worry about anything but being present for what turned out to be the best day! I highly recommend choosing to work with North State Events. My family and I had the pleasure of working with North State events for our wedding this May. I could not have asked for a better wedding planner than Ashley Smith. Everything went smoothly because of her and her team. She was well organized, keeping us on track every step of the way and she had a great attention to detail. When my son got engaged, the first person I called was Ashley at North State Events. Ashley and I had worked together on a very large and multifaceted event a few years ago and I loved her confidence and energy. I wanted to enjoy the wedding day, and knowing the wedding was in her competent hands, made that easy. My husband and I recently hosted a joint 50th birthday party in Chico, where we met in college. Ashley at North State Events came highly recommended and it was the best decision I made. Ashley is very knowledgeable, helpful, professional but most of all fun! She was attentive to every detail, she kept me on track and took care of all the details. She took all the stress out of planning our party and made it a really enjoyable experience. I felt like I could call her or text her with anything and she was quick to respond and on it to help with whatever I needed. Day of she handled it all even down to taking pictures all night long. My daughter's wedding was only about a month away and we contacted them to help us as we realized we needed someone to help us finish up the event and allow us to enjoy the day. Ashley, Skyler, and Katherine were a 10/10 in every way. I got to enjoy the rehearsal, wedding, and they thought of asking questions I hadn't even considered. Anything I needed or recommended, Skyler and Katherine took into consideration and did everything to make it all happen. My experience with Northstate Events was PHENOMENAL! My husband and I were suppose to get married October 2020 but for obvious reasons postponed it to exactly a year later. Ashley was great through it all! Communication was easy through email and text. When it came to the wedding weekend, everything went smoothly and beautifully.
