The waiting room is full of caddy moms. They talk bad about the owners, about each other and even about the young dancers. It is a appalling. The facility is filthy and extremely disorganized. My daughter learned dances, but absolutely no fundamentals. If you are not part of their Fusion Dance Company (competition team) you basically don't matter. The recital is simply a money maker for them- 4 shows over 3 days, if your child is in more than one class, or if you have multiple kids taking classes, expect to make a weekend of it, and plan to purchase tickets for each performance, so they can show off the fusion team.

And WE were the ones who had to track down the owner to ask why no one was there after waiting an hour. Poor character. Bad manners. Rude people. Bullies. Chico Sports Club is a poorly-owned and poorly-managed gym. Not sure why Chico Sports club cares what my email handle is. Also no threats were made, no intimidation, so that is a defamatory statement by Chico Sports Club, and they are subject to a lawsuit over making false statements in response to a review. And I have every right to say a business is disrespectful if they are disrespectful. That's called freedom of speech, and as a veteran of the Armed Forces, I will use my 1st Amendment Right to call out disrespectful businesses. Don't ever give these people a cent. They are unsound. My review was well-written and objective. Chico Sports Club's response was unhinged, insulting, and defensive of their bad behavior. The front desk staff and personal trainers are the only reason why this place is still in business. It certainly isn't because it is being run by a competent owner or managers. Every time I went, at least one machine I wanted to use was out of use, often times for long periods. Days, sometimes a week or more. Sometimes weeks. The steam room had issues on a few occasions. The banister in the exercise pool was broken for a long period of time. The main lap pool is shared with various groups, so the few lanes that are available, are being rented out to outside groups every day for several hours a day. They leave one or two lanes for the members I think. But that's not a lot when you have regular gym members using the pool and outside groups splitting about six lanes. The pool itself is in terrible condition. I don't think it's ever been redone. I often found things like bandaids, large bugs of various kinds, cement chips from the pool bottom. Etc. And, if you pushback against Chico Sports Club raising member prices and fees, they cancel your membership and blacklist you. Doesn't matter if you're a disabled veteran. Another 1st Class business in Chico. Chico Sports Club is disrespectful to disabled veterans.

Equipment consists of a dozen yoga mats, some strength bands, a half dozen kettle bells taped to look like purses, and chin-up bars. The gym does not have bathroom facilities such as showers, but it does have a water cooler. I can understand and even overlook the spartan conditions considering that it's such a fledgling program. However the uninsulated building is a problem. Remember the scene from Rocky where Stallone exercises inside a meat locker punching away at a side of beef? Conditions inside the gym in the mornings aren't that far off! Don't get me wrong, I'm no wimp. Heck, I just got back from a winter camping trip over New Years where I endured freezing temperatures for just under a week. The problem with the gym is the combination of sweating and cold combined; it's just not good. Obviously having just joined, I have no idea what summers are like, but I can't image they are pleasant in Chico's triple digit heat! The other limitation of the gym are its hours. Kaia FIT holds four classes a day, and that is it. Unless a class is being held, the gym is not open for members to exercise. This is far from being a full service fitness facility, and considering what you pay, it isn't a great deal. The one feature Kaia does provide is a single sex environment; men are not allowed. But unless you really have issues exercising in mixed company, I would take my money elsewhere. If honest local poster like me are getting their reviews scrubbed from Yelp, I wouldn't trust them.

Been meaning to write this review for awhile…read more This place is awful. We signed our seven year old up for ukulele lessons and he was so excited! We got a teacher that honestly just sucked. We had signed up and prepaid for thirty minute lessons once a week. Not only was he flakey, but when he didn't postpone our lessons, he was mostly late to them. He didn't make up the time at the end of the lesson, but often also cut the lesson short. If it wasn't one or the other, it was both. He also consistently came unprepared. Spent a large portion of the lesson printing out sheet music. Why hadn't he done that previously? I couldn't tell you. Then he would chat with our son asking HIM to choose the music. Our son just wanted to learn, he didn't care what they played. And even when he did select something, the teacher would then spend the remainder of their time attempting to search for and transcribe the music. We attempted to reach out to the owner several times. Our names and number were taken each time, usually without a call back. When we did get calls back, it was from the manager or from a woman who could have also been a manager, both of whom were very rude. When I finally spoke to the owner, he seemed to want to be proactive about it. Offered to compensate us for several lessons that we either never received or that were only given partially due to tardiness or incompetence. He also switched us to a different teacher. Apparently we weren't the only ones with complaints about the other guy, so they fired him. The new teacher, Alex, is probably the only person who provided a positive experience for us at this place. I wish he'd just do lessons on his own as we would never recommend anyone go through this place. In the end, we never saw a penny of a refund. No lessons up ended up being credited as promised. And worst of all, they tried to claim we owed them money. For what, you ask? Lessons that were never given while they claimed to be "working all of this out". If I could give this place zero stars, I would. You're better off learning an instrument from your family friend or your dad with mediocre guitar skills from his high school garage band days than you would be at this place.

They SAY it's free but then make you sign a paper promising to sell 10 tickets and 2 advertisements per child (valued at $150) and volunteer 10 hours. THEY DIDN'T MENTION THIS IN THE FLIER OR IN THE PAPERWORK FOR THE AUDITIONS OR AT ANY TIME DURING THE AUDITION OR AFTER - until the parents meeting. I have 2 children. Unlike Chico Women's Club, the Grange has a very large kitchen and much nicer, modern ADA bathrooms. Also, unlike Chico Women's Club, there is a separate dining room and auditorium, divided by a large central hallway to give you more options for setups. In adidition to the Grange parking lot, there is plenty of onstreet parking available. I've run into difficulty finding parking at the Chico Women's club once the little parking lot is filled, as it is surrounded by downtown homes and college rentals. CV
