In response to the two star review: You are correct, the grounds are well tended and the arena is wonderful! its an indoor, so riding can occur year round. Additionally, this facility has been closed to boarding for a while now so what exactly was the point of your review?
I am quite curious as to why YOU made this yelp page, simply to review a place you didn't like. Also, months after you had left. And lets not talk about the fact that no other stable in the Comox Valley would have you shall we? Who was the one who wouldn't blanket their horse in the pouring rain, when it was shivering because "she was used to the cold, she's from Alberta!" and now, on to discussing your 'issues.'
1. Horses are turned out at 8am, and come in (weather allowing) earliest 3pm. No where in the contract did it say they HAD to be out until 4pm. Something she explained to you.
2. Stalls are stripped between NEW horses. Then, the soiled parts are removed during daily cleanings (all urine, fecal matter, dead hay, etc) and then new sawdust added as needed. If you wanted a fully stripped stall EVERYDAY, then yes, you would be required to pay extra.
3. When you gave 'two weeks notice,' you neglected to up hold your end of the bargin. it is required to have one month notice before leaving. Rather than deal with your issues, she asked you to leave immediately.
All in all, I feel your review of the now closed boarding facility is not true to form. Have a wonderful day Colleen! I hope Alberta welcomed you back, lord knows the Valley didn't want you. read more
