Over the course of 3 years they periodically worked on large projects for our home. Anthony and his crew became like trusted family members; they earned our trust by their conduct, work ethic and direct communication. Anthony's first priority is to provide the best "product" possible to his customers. We have been very happy with all the projects he has done: * Built a 120 ft beautiful block retaining wall with a metal railing that will probably last longer than our house * Tore out our lower deck and built a larger trek deck in its place, installed a metal railing, rebuilt the stair on the other side of the deck and reinstalled our hot tub! * Built a 20' x 18' attached, permitted shop * Turned an ugly storage room into a beautiful office * Built railroad tie stairway with a landing on both sides of our house and placed 10 huge rocks just where I wanted them. Put down landscape fabric and mulch. I appreciate that Anthony critically thinks through the projects, researches new products or construction solutions, and talks to vendors to obtain detailed information. He communicates well with city and county people and clients. Anthony and his crew are creative, and at times, artistic in their work. We loved our home before we found Anthony. We love it more now because the GBZ Construction crew did such a fine job creating lovely spaces for us to enjoy.

Even…read morethough my current job was too small for him he kindly provided me with a list of smaller contractors to try. I think also it was the second time I had contacted him over the years. The previous time many years ago when he was first starting, and even then his good character and business sense stood out to me. It's probably why I reached out to him again. Growing up as a "cop's daughter" sometimes my second-hand jadedness towards seemingly good character arouses my doubts. But if Jared is not genuine then I don't know who is. My grandfather was a general contractor, and I myself worked for a medium-sized commercial contractor for a short while so I am somewhat familiar with the challenges in organizing the work, including managing subcontractors. Jared's communication and management style is such a breath of fresh air. You just want to get behind his local business and see it continue to grow. Communicating to some of the general contractors in and outside the Corvallis-Albany-Salem area as the pandemic winds down, I now think the safer bet is to go big with Thayer Construction when the time comes. Just get all the jobs and remodeling done at once with him or not at all.

The multiple divisions are made up of experts in their field. They too can work in tandem with one another. They were efficient, professional, timely, and their pricing was extremely competitive. I could not believe how fast they worked. Every employee was most professional and kind. They loved our dog and are the type of people you just want to have stick around for dinner. We now are getting bids for them to rebuild our outdoor staircase, inside flooring, inside painting, and update our bathroom. I certainly wouldn't go back to them unless I was 100% pleased with their prior work on our home.

His plumber he hired, Ron knight plumbing, lied on his bill, I caught him charging us for parts he never even used on our job. They cut all our house tailings and messed up our soffet and never even came back to fill in all the gaps and you can see nails. Our garage casing was not square. He did an awful job and we are so upset, we hired another contractor to fix and finish his job that we already paid him to do. He charges outrageous amounts for his help, and the quality of work is horrible. I had also offered to go get the permits, and later called the county to find out how much they were, and found out he had charged me an extra 350.00 to get those. He totally ripped us off but i know better now. I would never use him again or recommend him to anyone.
