Wife and I were having issues with our previous dentist. They were not in our insurance company network. Bills/cost were not making sense. We contacted Aetna insurance, ask for a list of network providers, & then did LOTS OF RESEARCH. Reviews for North Star were outstanding. They seemed to have the perfect balance ratio for staff to dentist. Now to the review. I called staff explaining my situation. I needed a cavity fixed & 2 crowns replaced. They had a cancellation that day & ask would I like to come in. GREAT! Only hour till that appointment time, so I got ready quickly. Staff processed me in, I answered all the questions, insurance cards, paperwork, then seated to see doctor. Staff were very friendly & informative. Dentist came in reviewed my x-rays, confirmed the cavity & worn crowns. He was very professional in his evaluation. He explained the steps we needed to take, would work with insurance getting pre-approval same day, & have me scheduled at the earliest available appointment. Being retired my schedule was open, so they were able to get me in within a week. Great customer service, very understanding team, looking forward to future dental care with this great team. read more

I went here on a recommendation from my granddaughter. I need a new set of dentures. Process started in April and 2+ months later along with several trips to their office, I never got a set that was comfortable, ascetically acceptable, or functional. I explained to them that I could not chew with my old set, but it didn't make a difference.. Dr. Morgan and his staff are courteous, pleasant, and professional. Also had a cleaning and a filling. Hygienist was pretty rough and I ended up with a toothache that hung around for 3 weeks. Dr did prescribe an antibiotic, but it did little to help. read more

Beware! The first time I went to Desert Ridge Dental, I was told it looked as if I was grinding my teeth at night and that I should get a $200 custom mouth guard (which they so happened to make in-office) to wear at night. I didn't get it. Over the next few years, I figured out that since Desert Ridge Dental is in a high rent area of town, they overcharge for their services and bug you to buy extras. When I started having pain in one of my teeth, Dr. Morgan told me that I had a cavity and would need a root canal within six months. I decided it was time to look for a less expensive dentist. I'm glad I did! My new dentist did x-rays, checked out my teeth, and told me that they were in perfect condition. He said the pain I'd been experiencing was probably caused by grinding my teeth at night. He told me a $20 mouth guard from Walgreens should solve the problem. Lesson learned. read more

I took my 6, 9, and 10 year old daughters for their cleanings and check-ups and they instantly felt comfortable and at home. They were greeted with smiles and reassurance and treated with kindness and respect. After having such a positive experience with my daughters, I quickly scheduled my own dental services. Visited the office in April 2014 because I had bought a reasonably-priced Groupon and hadn't been to the dentist in a few years (a result of no insurance and being a forgetful college student). The hygienist did a wonderful job cleaning my teeth, and then I saw Dr. Morgan. He let me know that I needed a few fillings, and did not make me feel self-conscious or ashamed for not having seen a dentist in a few years. I came back for my 6 month appointment after enrolling in an insurance plan. I had been working in the mountains for about 5 months (with no cell service) and had to reschedule my appointment a few times. The staff was friendly and accommodating. When I was able to come in, I had my cleaning, 6 month exam, and fillings done in the same visit. Dr. Morgan and his hygienist (Yami, I think) were fantastic...the only reason I stopped going to this office is because I now work at a dental office and it wasn't economical for me to see a different dentist! read more

I have not been to the dentist in seven years, shame on me. I was so scared, very nervous, embrassed. I went in today, and didn't know what to expect. They exceeded my expectations with comfort. If you need to go to the dentist I can not imagine any other place to go to but to them. I walk out feeling proud like a new person. My teeth got cleaned, I have a little my work to be done. Dr.Morgan is a great dentist always very nice and informative! The hygienists are great too! The only problem with Desert Ridge Dental is the office staff, they try and collect deductibles and money from you when it's not needed and then you catch them and they then don't return phone calls and make it right! I started seeing Dr. Morgan in late 2014. Upon my first appointment with him I found him to be charming and charismatic. What I didn't know then, that I know now is he is a pompous arrogant professional conman. I was interested in Invisalign or even braces. To correct different problems. All Dr. Morgan would talk about was a process he could do called Six Month Braces and at every appointment Dr. Morgan asked when we could start the Six Month Braces process. I finally relented and decided against my own judgement to go through the Six Month Braces process, when he told me about a 10% discount that would be good only if I signed up for the process before the end of September 2015. Finally after four people trying to figure out what I would be paying before the discount, came to $4868.50. This is more than I spent the first time I was in 2 year braces 6 years ago, which according to Dr. Morgan is a really long time ago. I showed up for my appointment to get the molds done for the Six Month Braces on 10-6-15. Michelle explained that I would essentially have a vacuum in my mouth for the entire duration of having my braces put on, she found out I have a very sensitive gag reflex and she even asked me if I could go through with it. I told her that it looks like I would have to seeing as I had already paid the down payment. While looking through the contract there were a few red flags. First of all who is this Dr. Rauch that keeps being mentioned in the contract? What kind of "extensive orthodontic training" does Dr. Rauch have for being a general dentist? Why isn't Dr. Morgan mentioned in the contract? Does he even have the credentials to do this? For the next six months I was in constant pain that was bad enough that I was on an almost entire liquid diet for the duration of my time wearing the Six Month Braces. In the first two days of wearing the braces two or three brackets popped off and I had to leave them hanging on the wire seeing as the contract urges it's patients to deal with whatever seems to be going on until the next appointment. I came back for each of my monthly appointments that were more often than not rescheduled for different days and in some cases I was only given an hour's notice. On one occasion I was asked if I could come in immediately and then the office and Dr. Morgan were shocked when I actually did. In December a new technician came to get me and didn't even introduce herself. This assistant actually told me that she has no idea what she is doing. Upon removing my wires to allow me to floss and brush my teeth before getting my wires put back on, more often than not she would forget to take off a wire. Also when she would put the wires back on she never changed them out to new ones. When she put the bands holding the brackets on she had such a hard time doing it I could see and feel her physically struggling. When she would trim the wires so that I'm not having my mouth cut open she would actually stand on the chair and even me to do this. It honestly felt as if she was going to pull a tooth out with a pair of wire cutters. Why did Dr. Morgan let someone so inept work on patients? After my appointment in March I made a point to mention to the office staff that I refuse to let her work on me any longer. A note was made in my chart or so I was told. I had to go back a week later for a bracket that popped off and guess who was the one to call me back, the assistant I had requested not to see. This was completely unacceptable and shows that Desert Ridge doesn't care about their patients. After being physically sick for months and after noticing my gums were turning white and Dr. Morgan never saying a word as to why my gums were white I made an appointment with my family doctor. My family Doctor was appalled to find out that I had apparently had a gum infection for months. It upset them because not only had Dr. Morgan allowed me to continue having a gum infection but I also have heart problems and for a heart patient to have any kind of oral infection is not good. When I met up with Dr. Morgan at my April appointment I told him that I had a gum infection and my family doctor as well as myself are requesting to have my braces taken off immediately. Dr. Morgan honestly just got up out of his chair and walked away. Upon making the schedule to get them taken off, it was well over a month into the future. How is this okay? When getting them taken off after explaining to the office staff that immediately does not mean more than a month into the future, I was relieved but was really upset with how Dr. Morgan was treating me. My retainer is a cheap plastic one that honestly is not worth the price of $250 dollars. I will never recommend this practice or the other Desert Ridge Dental based on the fact that it allowed Dr. Morgan to use their contract for Braces, most especially when Dr. Rauch wasn't even running the West Side practice at the time I got these braces. read more
