I'm retired, on a strict budget and I have to save for haircuts, it was a big deal to me. Tony has so many great reviews that I felt I was in good hands. He seemed like a nice guy, we talked about the cut. He basically did ever that I DIDN'T want. That would not be a big deal, sometimes it takes a cut or two to get it right IF THE QUALITY WAS THERE. It's a choppy mess. The fade I didn't want is choppy and uneven. I lost months of growth that I was specific about leaving as much as possible. , but I did say that if he needs to go shorter to connect everything that's ok - assuming he knew what he was doing. I felt ok after he was finished, I knew it wasn't great but when I got home ... yikes. It's like a joke it's so bad. In hindsight they were polite but I did not feel "welcome" ... I was hoping to find a regular barber. They are close and reasonably priced but obviously not a good fit.

Called multiple times and the only time he answered he was "too booked up and to call back the next day". Proceeded to call a half a dozen more times over the next three days and never answered. Finally caught him when he was actually there and again and he said he was "all booked up" and to call back tomorrow on Friday. Told him I had been calling and no one was answering. He shrugged his shoulders and then said check back in next Tuesday. Awfully busy man for someone who's never there and parking lot is empty. Not customer service friendly or interested in new loyal customers.

I have never been to a barber before, but have been struggling to find someone to cut a feminine short haircut. This place seemed to fit my needs. I called to make an appointment as I was not familiar with barber terms and didn't know which scenario or which person fitted my needs and availability. The person I spoke with scheduled me with Cassie (after they inquired what kind of cut I was looking for). The place is off court and I knew parking might take some time consideration, which I factored in. I also saw a review on Google when a client complained about being late to an appointment and a response from the owner to that, which I agreed with. The space is small! For me, uncomfortably small. Everyone was in everyone's space and not much room for movement. No one acknowledged me when I came in, so I just took a seat and waited on the couch. My person was running behind and apologized for that. Something that bothered me was that they did not sweep up between clients. It came my turn and I had to awkwardly climb into the chair. I am used to a salon chair where it's at a lower level and they pump the seat up to the necessary height. I showed Cassie photos of what I was looking for in a cut and she made some suggestions and off we went. I don't know exaxtly how long it took as the other person was running late, but I would guestimate 20 minutes. This being my first barber experience ever (possibly my last), I found the experience lacking. I wasn't offered a drink, I didn't get a shampoo, she was very rough with my ears when shaving around them and the back of my neck felt a bit raw from all the shaving with the electric razor. Maybe this is common? I have nothing to compare it to. She did not cut the top hair at all (in hind site, it needed weight taken out). I go to pay and she tells me she is cash only. Ummmmm......ok.......that's fine and all, but I don't carry cash on me. She offered that I use one of those janky ATMs sitting in the corner of the restaurant across the hall. I was not happy and being in such close proximity to everyone else in the room, I didn't feel comfortable saying something. So? $50 + for the haircut and $6 in ATM fees was definitely not worth the experience. I noticed that other barbers had an electronic device to take payments, so apparently they each have their own payment system? The person I spoke to on the phone should have told me it is cash only and I would have planned accordingly and saved myself $6 on fees. Again, great (partial) haircut, however this barber shop is not for me. I have received a way better experience at many salons for the same price and even less. This partial cut was way overpriced. A friend of the family recently recommended Universal Kutz. Upon walking in I was a little hesitant. It is the a full range barber shop. Many Barbers available to offer services. Music played over head. Two large screen TVs hung with sports playing. Did not appear to be a place for a toddler. I was pleasantly surprised! They had toddler booster seats. Many barbers appeared willing to tackle Jr's first official haircut. We selected Ty. He was very patient with Jr. Let him hold the clippers so he knew they wouldn't hurt him. Explained everything he needed him to do; look down at your knees, look at my nose, etc. Midway through the cut he paused and offered Jr a sucker to let him know he was doing great. The cut was perfect and a great experience for Jr. I will definitely be bringing my older kids in for their next cut!!! One thing to point out. You can not pay with credit cards. Services are cash only. They do have an ATM on site.

Well I'm a man of my word, and even though I probably wasn't really due for a new hair doo I made my way to Universal Kutz to get my hair chopped! First off this place rules, there were 9 barbers in all, shaving, snipping, and cutting at the same time in the big rectangled room! Everything from Kid N Play flat tops, to shaved heads, to afro cuts, to whatever I was about to have! I gave Ian full reign on what ever he wanted to do to my head! He told me he would give me a great clean cut that will be perfect for the summer and will grow out better then the cuts I have been getting at home! I really loved the atmosphere in here, dudes chatting, watching ESPN, and a couple a little kids dancing round the room. It was a super fun environment! Now most of the time you need an appointment but Ian said he would fit me in when ever I came in, and he did! I got on the chair and was out of there in less then a half hour! He did a fantastic job and I even ran into a friend later that day and he said I looked, "Hip" that has not been a word some has chosen to describe me in a long time! I will definitely be back to Universal Kutz, hell I might come just to hang out!
