Dr Shawna Barry is the worst doctor I ever had in my life. From the moment I met her I wish I never had.

I usually don't care for the way most doctors treat patients but Allara and Yoon are exceptional, they actually treat patients as patients not numbers. My wife and I have had horrible experiences with medical professionals but never have we had one complaint with Allara and Yoon. These guys understand that all patients are not the same. They understand that what is normal for one patient is not necessarily normal for another. They actually put some thought into your problems instead of just running down a check list. At one time I thought proper medical treatment was no existent North of Boston but after 25+ years of dealing with MFM Health I know that good health care can be found.

We recently brought our 6-month-old daughter to this practice after moving and searching for a new…read moredoctor for our family. While the physician herself was kind and pleasant, I was extremely disappointed with the overall level of professionalism in the office. During our visit, I could hear medical assistants speaking loudly outside the exam room, asking things like, "Who's room is Ava in?" and "What room is she in again?" It did not inspire confidence, especially as a parent bringing in an infant. I ended up calling out, "Ava is in here," just to clarify. At the appointment, my daughter was supposed to receive two vaccines. About a week or two later, I received a call from the office informing me that one of the vaccines had not actually been administered. Instead, she was given saline. I was told they later found the vaccine at the bottom of an empty box. As a parent, this is extremely concerning. Accuracy and attention to detail are critical in a medical setting, especially when it involves infants. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling uneasy about the quality control and communication within the practice. We will be going elsewhere.

From there I was instructed to change into hospital scrubs leaving only underpants and socks and my shoes (my choice as they don't offered hospital socks. The check in said they would send a note to the lab staff of what I was wearing and my level of deafness. They come out quickly wearing masks, call names which I can't tell the names called. As I try to get their attention, they quicky turn , walk away. I do everything to help myself, I sit near the door facing them, I read lips( impossible with masks). After long wait time seeing others that came after me go in, I twice was able to finally get one's attention, and find that yes my name had been called earlier. I go again today for tests, just don't know what to do.

I live two hours away and I've chosen here despite the commute because there is no medical center near me that gives the treatment I need so I am, for lack of a better term, downright desperate. After having a prescription given to me almost a year ago, I have been calling for MONTHS to get it authorized by the doctor I saw and nothing productive has happened. Nothing. I've been hung up on twice before, I've been bounced between two offices multiple times to try and reschedule an appointment, I have stated the urgency of how I need what I am there for and still nothing has been done. My experience here has been disgustingly bad and I would urge anyone who is looking for this as a possibility to try other options because it is abhorrent how hard it is to get anything accomplished here. And this isn't even coming from just a solely outside view, I am in the medical field myself. I am extremely disappointed.

Days later I had remembered I had a Health Savings Account debit card. I decided to call Billing, have them refund the $30 on my credit card and charge the HSA debit instead. The transaction seemed easy. Come to find out, they never refunded the $30 on my credit card, and instead of withdrawing $30 on my debit card, they withdrew $200. I've been calling and using the portal for two weeks - simply requesting Billing to call me. The folks on the portal said Billing would call, but they haven't. Two weeks of silence. My only recourse was to file a report with the Beverly Police Dept. They'll follow up with the NSPG or the Salem Court will. An abysmal experience. If anyone has Scott Sperling (Mass General Brigham, Chair) and/or Anne Klibanski (Mass General Brigham, CEO) contact info....please share it. I want them to know my experience.
