After reading reviews of their "speedy service" for tires, "fitting me in for an oil change",…read more"going above and beyond", I called about a battery. I live NEXT DOOR to their business so I wanted to support my local business. I explained my battery light kept flashing on and off and did they have time to visibly look at it (thinking maybe the connections may be bad). I was willing to wait if indeed the battery was the problem for a repair. It couldn't have taken more than 5 min to just look. The woman on the phone didn't ask any further questions, just dismissed me and said we don't have any openings today. Horrible customer service. Uncaring, inflexible and rude. Definitely no "going above and beyond" or "fitting me in". I'm an older single woman with grandchildren to drive around. So disappointed.

I've been getting my car serviced here basically since I could drive and Tom is nicest mechanic…read moreI've ever come across! I've had many good experiences here, and many times over run into things that make me appreciate having found such an honest mechanic. Just wanted to point out a few good things I've come across here over the years: -About a year ago I made the (bad) decision to get my oil changed at a dealership...per usual when my car was ready the guy at the dealership had found a major "issue" with my car, saying that one of my belts was nearly torn and would I like them to fix it? No, no thanks...gave me my keys back and I took it to Tom, whom told me yes, a belt did need replacing, but that was not one that actually ever wore out. He took the belt off and showed me it was actually cut, at which point I'm super fuming angry at the dealership, but Tom was super sympathetic and nice about it. Just kind of concerned and asking me questions; where else do you find someone that cares like that?? -Well over a year ago, I had my breaks replaced and opted for the ones that came with a warranty...flash forward...many months pass and yet again I need my brakes replaced(yeah, I'm that kind of driver) I take my car back to Tom. I was fully ready to pay the full amount for brakes, but Tom reminded me they were under warranty and I would only be paying labor...literally cuts the bill I'm expecting in half. I've brought my car back one other time and ran into this and he easily could've taken advantage of me since I keep forgetting. Many other good examples of customer service come from this place, but I believe these are just the two most recent for me.

Beware Of "Up-Selling"…read more We decided to try out Cedarburg Auto Safety Center for a $60 oil change. We were then asked to buy a tire rotation that was supposedly on sale for $20. Five minutes later, as the oil change was underway, we were asked to buy a new cabin filter for $94.53 plus fees and taxes. We said, "No." Soon after, they tried to sell an engine air filter for $57.52 plus taxes and fees. Again, we said "No." Five minutes later, the person at the desk went out to the repair bay and retrieved two rectangular filters: a cabin filter and an engine air filter. The filters they showed us weren't that soiled. In fact, any debris they contained looked like it could've been tapped out over a waste basket, or possibly blown away with compressed air. She continued to push: "If this is what your other place did, you need to talk with them." Again, we turned down the Cedarburg Auto Safety Center offer. In dealing with service operations, we learned long ago not to engage in up-sell strategies. Simple rule: "Purchase what you came to purchase -- nothing more." So, will we go back? Probably not.
