The curriculum is full of fun, hands on projects from science, math, art and story time. They have an outstanding music program with two really cute performances during the year. They also have an awesome lunch program that goes from 11:30-2. My son is currently in the pk-3's class and begs me to sign him up for lunch every time we are there. My older two children love to visit and see their teachers they had.

I had always heard wonderful things about it from other moms in the community. We are now about to complete our first year over there and I honestly could not be happier with my choice. My daughter has grown so much, and has been so cared for along the way. There are so many hands-on learning stations for the kids to learn and explore. During the year, they've been able to learn through kinetic sand, water table, large and small motor activities, reading, writing, games, and so much more. They had a firefighter visit to teach them about fire safety, a librarian visit their school to foster their appreciation for books and reading, and they also learned about caterpillars turning into butterflies by witnessing it firsthand. I feel a school is only as good as its teachers and staff, and the teachers at Village are true gems - so warm, nurturing, and knowledgeable. They all have been at the school for many years, and they make learning so fun and age appropriate. The director of the school is also superb; a very organized woman whose door is always open and is willing to answer any questions I've had throughout the year. She does a wonderful job communicating with parents through newsletters and notes about upcoming events at the school. We are always greeted with smiles by the whole staff. You can tell they all want to be there and love what they do, not just one day but everyday. There is also a great weekly music class that the kids attend, and there are 2 music performances that the kids put on for their families. This is a great way for the kids to become comfortable in front of large groups. I highly recommend Village Preschool to everyone I meet since we've had such a positive experience there. You know it's a special place when my younger one who is 18 months never wants to leave when we drop off her older sister at school!

My kids are now 17 and 20, so I have no recent experience, but cannot imagine much has changed since we spent four years under their care. From the administrator Cindy to each and every teacher (especially Peggy and someone else whose name escapes me at the moment), it was a place chock full of learning and love. And somehow this flowed down by creating a very strong bond shared between the other families and Moms and Dads which did not diminish with time. Thanks again to everyone on staff for creating a nurturing, warm, highly competent educational experience for my children.

Their attention and care for children is second go none. The lessons are theme based each week and when my daughter comes home she cannot wait to talk about (ie: weather, eating healthy, writing...) whatever the lesson is. St. Marks has very accommodating hours (630am-6pm) and flexible scheduling options. I believe that this is a school/daycare that is truly 100% invested in the children and not just here to run a business. The school also provides a variety of heathy meals. There is also a large gym for the kids on gym days (I haven't found many other schools with this). A++++

We also have started going back this fall (2022) for intermittent OT support as our son has gotten better, but still benefits from occasional sessions. Our son works with Ms Jillian who is a phenomenal OT. She is kind, funny, warm, and so creative! When she started working with our son, he was starting second grade as a non-writer (but on target with other skills). She quickly figured out he has weak fine motor skills (exacerbated by a previous wrist break at a trampoline park). Honestly, to see his progress over two years later is nothing short of incredible. She makes handwriting fun! Professionally I am actually a speech pathologist and I can tell this is a great private practice clinic. With respect to a previous review mentioning staffing concerns, I would like to share that this is happening everywhere right now (private practices, schools, hospitals, etc). Speech, OT, and PT are in high demand across the Chicagoland area and there are vacancies everywhere (due to shortages in the profession and Covid making those shortages worse). That being said I have not seen or heard of any staffing issues at Step Forward, from the parent perspective. We love it here!

I would advice to completely keep your children away from this place, especially when it comes to…read moretherapies. When we first started, we were happy with our therapy team. Then very quickly, within several months, everyone on our team starting to leave. Our son has Down syndrome so it's important to have him get all three therapies: OT, PT and speech at least once weekly. But we gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited until they filled in the spots. We waited months for a second session per week that was never met because they said their PT wasn't available and unable to fit us in. Well, I just saw that our son's PT was also working the preschool side of their business (which is not a good excuse for being unable to fit us in if they claim to be a therapy clinic). So on top of not having enough therapists for their therapy customers, they have them work the preschool side as well (our original PT had said they worked both, which I'm guessing is a large part of why he left). So this week, our son's "new" OT who had only been there weeks is leaving asap with no heads up with no replacement. This place is disorganized and unprofessional. I've had 2-3 separate people calling or texting me with the same scheduling issues or questions. There is no central manager, and management is non-existent at best. Billing is even worse. Then, because we felt we had to leave because they couldn't meet our son's needs (and this was the third time we were told to wait for a therapist replacement in less than a half year), they sent an email demanding remaining balance due within a week because we were "no longer clients!!" I've never been treated so poorly and unprofessionally by a clinical office ever in my life. That is not how billing should work because they haven't even finished filing claims for therapy services through our insurance. Plus, they never answered my questions on why billing amounts ranged so differently by even over a hundred dollars for the same services. I'm not an expert in billing, but their billing manager Jackie should be fired for treating families so poorly. I even tried to work out a payment system with them when our HSA funds each pay period (so the balance would be paid in a couple of months), to which she replied with a demand that full balance be paid immediately (in 2 days, no less) with full payment due immediately as soon as they process the insurance claims. I have a lot of medical issues, and I even delayed my insulin pump and diabetic supplies and stretch them further to make it a priority to pay their clinic. It's like they act like some loan shark mobster group or something in the way they demand payment. I've never seen a clinic act in such a way. And if it's due to desperation because they are so poorly managed (I don't know why else they would act this way), then that's even more reason to stay away. So if you are looking for a therapy clinic or even a preschool with consistent staff who treat their clients respectfully and professionally, my advice is to run away as fast as possible.

I laugh because I was so set on another daycare prior to touring TGS, and had high expectations going in. I was so impressed and the vibe was warm, that we changed our minds and decided to go here. Having my children attend three different Gardner Schools over the past few years, I can confidently say that this leadership team works together better than any I've experienced. As a parent, what I value most about my school administration experience is feeling **informed, respected, and included**. Becca, Emma, and Kim truly make the school feel like one big happy family. I appreciate the clear and timely communication--knowing what's going on at the school, important dates, and any changes without having to chase information. When I reach out with a question or concern, someone always responds thoughtfully and follows through. No matter who you speak with--Becca, Emma, or Kim--you receive the same information, which speaks volumes about how well they communicate and function as a **great team**. I also value how approachable and visible the administrators are. They're not just names on emails. This builds trust and reassures me that decisions are always made with students' best interests in mind and that parent feedback is welcomed and valued. Most of all, this positive administration experience gives me real peace of mind, knowing my children are in a school where adults are organized, caring, and truly working together. As for the teachers, morale at this school is clearly high--no small feat when working with children every day. What I love about The Gardner School Schaumburg experience is that it feels **supportive and balanced**. The teachers genuinely know the children and care about their well-being, not just academically but as individuals. Both of my children enjoy learning because lessons feel meaningful and engaging, especially when classes are interactive. I also love the strong sense of community--my children talk about their friends at home, which says everything. The structure of the day gives them rhythm, helps them stay motivated, and supports their growth. Overall, my experience reassures me that my children are growing, supported, and being prepared for what's next--not just getting through the day.
