Every hole was set up so neatly, with creative layouts, multiple drops, and thoughtful details that kept it fun the entire way through. I especially loved that they had an easier course for younger kids, which made it perfect for our children, and we also noticed the moving/more challenging course, which looked like something my husband and I would love to come back and try on our own. The seating areas placed along the way made it feel relaxing and enjoyable, and there was so much to look at that the whole experience felt special. One helpful thing to know before you go: it is cash only, so make sure you come prepared. It was $25 for 2 adults and 2 kids under 6. The putt-putt course was not the most interesting that I have ever played, but my husband and I had fun with it. We skipped one hole because it was covered in some rain or other water, but the other holes were in good condition. After we finished our putt-putt game, I returned to the employee to purchase a small Hershey's ice cream. She again served us very promptly and politely. I had chosen the Orange Blossom flavor, which contained vanilla ice cream and orange sherbet, and I enjoyed it.

This park even has a restaurant and an ice-cream shop. For several years, I have visited this park. Most often I take my dog to the dog park. I have also hiked the trails and enjoyed the beautiful plants and wildlife. I consider this park to be a blessing to the residents of the Northern suburbs and to non-local visitors.

I was a bit skeptical about Putt Shack because I had heard many mixed reviews and know it is a…read morelarge corporate chain. I finally visited for the first time in late June and was pleasantly surprised at what a fun time we had. You can either register online prior to your arrival or you can use one of their ipads to register. Each player gets a golf ball that is individually coded to them. So it tracks every stroke you take (no cheating) and automatically adds the score (including bonus points on some holes). One nice thing is that you can skip around if there are lines at the holes. This is really helpful especially if you are there with a group. They also have tables throughout the course that let you place your drink down. You do need to pay attention to make sure you stay on your own course because the two courses are right next to each other. If your ball suddenly isn't registering, it is probably because you are on the wrong course. Food is pretty tasty (although a little overpriced). You can eat any time and they have an option that you can order food before you golf and have it ready for when you are done (but I imagine it could get difficult to try and time that correctly), There is metered street parking right outside and a large surface lot behind the building. The ball is digitally assigned to each person. There is no keeping track of the score. Every time you put the ball on the tee the computer recognizes you.
