A great place to walk in the mornings....... Spacious and peaceful....................

Nice place to run or walk when the kiddos aren't using it for track. It's nothing special, but there's always parking and it's never overly crowded. The track is decently maintained and has some give under your feet, which is great for your joints. The only complaint I can really think of is that the usual users of this track don't tend to observe the lane rules (runners on the inside lanes, walkers on the outside) so you occasionally are dodging people who are furiously pumping their hand weights. We'd prefer to use the Schenley Oval, but it's a little further from home and usually pretty crowded, so this track suits me just fine for what I need it for. read more

October 30, 2017: 1:30 PM... The North Hills High School track itself & Stadium is decent and there is a nice size parking lot; however, there could be another way to access the track for people who are not walking. For mid morning: after 11:00 am the restrooms were locked ... the guy running The Martorelli Stadium & track was rude and inconsiderate. He stated he was the only one running this place, he refused to open the restrooms and stood around after being asked to open them, as the rest rooms have been open early in the morning before, around 8:30 am previous times I have arrived at the this track, in the meantime there were two other employees maintaining the grass with sprinklers ... it is clear from the numbers and arrows on the track the way the track is supposed to be used, other people run around this track using the lanes in the opposite direction, having no courtesy for other people ...I have ran at the Shaler area track, the up keep is just as nice, just a little to far away from me so happened to be I will have to make this North Hills track doable for now until I find something that will suit my needs better. read more

This is a high school track that is open to the public when it is not being used for high school events. It is a decent track to run on. Lanes 3 and 4 have a couple of spots that give just a little too much. You can see where they have been repaired but it still feels strange when you run over those spots. Otherwise, the track and infield are pretty well maintained. The most annoying thing about the track is people do not observe the lane rules which are posted in at least 3 different spots around the track- lanes 5-6 for walking; 3-4 for jogging; and 1-2 for the fast people. It is just a common courtesy to your fellow runners and walkers to observe these simple rules. No one should ever walk 4 across, which happens far too often. Also, some people bring their children and let them ride their bikes on the track, which does ruin the track. There is also a large parking lot, which allows for plenty of parking. So even on nice days when the track gets a little crowded, parking is not an issue. Overall, it is not a bad track and it is easy to use. It also seems to always be open. I have been able to get on the track later in the evening and even at 5:30 am. read more
