Its easy to get in & out of. Some cashiers are more friendlier & upbeat then others. Had this one lame guy who seemed so miserable working there which is sad, be happy your employed & if you don't want to work there then go some where else! Always seems a lot of people in here and it's difficult to move around. Takes a bit of patience but it's not too bad. It tends to over flow with stuff so they put some of it out in front on the sidewalk. Gives it a pleasantly tacky look. One of the things they really advertise are the 25 cent hot dogs. I would never get the courage to actually try one and I suspect they aren't exactly the highest quality but just seeing the price is kind of cool. The prices inside on most of the stuff inside is dirt cheap. I got some six buck T-shirts that didn't even shrink five sizes when I washed them. This place is exactly what it seems. It is an anachronism that manages to survive in a rather expensive and ritzy town like Newburyport just be being itself. The staff have always been pleasant and helpful even in middle of all the crazy activity that is going on. It's a cheap place that has lots of cheap but decent stuff. Except he didn't, and I also asked for Parliaments, not Marlboros. He proceeded to check my friend's bag for the pack of cigarettes, ransacked through my purse to make sure I hadn't stolen them, and then showed me on the iPad that I had paid for something. Yes sir, I know I paid. But you never gave me the cigarettes, so I just paid you $9.50 for thin air. Eventually he huffed and puffed, and handed me the pack of Parliaments that I had originally asked for, but not without making me feel like a crook and a pain in the ass in the process. If you need smokes or other convenience store items, do yourself a favor and just drive into town. I won't be coming back here again.

As I was inside last night picking up sodas for my bestie & I, I was greeted several times by working staff saying "hello" to me & when I walked up to the counter to purchase my items I was asked "how are you?." It's nice to be acknowledged when you walk into a business vs. being ignored. I walked by this amazing pastry cabinet & this big, piece of a carrot cake caught my attention. Everything else inside looked yummy & fresh. I had to control my sweet tooth temptation & keep walking. They have an awesome soda station & they even carried caffeine free diet coke. (I prefer to drink this to limit my caffeine intake) They carry one of those machines that is touch screen operated & have several selections of sodas to choose from. They also have coffee, tea & those slushy drinks. The store was big & roomy and I found it to be very clean. They have all sorts of snacks, booze, non-alcoholic drinks & they even carry an assortment of gift cards. It's located in a busy intersection off Elwyn Rd & Lafayette Rd. The gas pumps were pretty busy. I've never seen a gas station so busy (in a good way) before, not even when it was the Mobil. Now don't get me wrong, I didn't have to wait in a line as things move pretty smoothly inside nor did I see people's cars lining up for gas.
