There's a pavilion and a jungle gym for kids as well. There's a bike trail if you don't mind riding up hill, you will be rewarded on the way down when it's time to leave and get to ride down. There's a trail in the surrounding woods as well. On one side, there's a view into the quarry and on the other side a view of the city. And if you're at the park and we get invaded, no worries there is a tank occupying the high grounds as well.

Our neighbor rang my bell to ask me to pull my car off the street so the leaves could be collected. When I realized they were here to do the leaves, I ran out and told them I had 25 bags of leaves in the garage that I needed to run out to the street. The DPW guys and my neighbor all jumped in and helped get those leaves to the curb. BEST DPW ANS NEIGHBORS EVER! Thanks to all.

Truth be told the majority of the playground structure is just slides.. but if your kid loves slides then this is the playground to try! There's a bunch of fun ways to get up to the slides too -- a couple ladders, a "rock wall", steps, etc. Rumana is definitely on the newer side with rubber mulch and brightly colored heavy duty plastic parts/pieces. The playground has a good sized yard so great for kids running around too. It is enclosed by a fence but it's not lockable... so if you have littles then you'll want to keep a eye on them a bit more closely so they don't wander off. The small basketball court, merry go round and swings are all a bonus. The swings are designed for older kids though... no baby or toddler seats. Parking is easy -- there's no parking lot but the street in front of the playground indents a little bit so there's plenty of room for a line of cars to the playground and for other cars to drive down the street.

The trails are free to enter but they do request for volunteer donation for non members. Different tiers of annul membership available to purchase at main office that comes with some wonderful perks, such as free access to trails and special events. The main office also has some of the exhibition items like insect box and turtle box. Outside the office there's also bird and butterfly cages. We went to the center for our daughter to participate in butterfly feeding event. Upon arrival we found out we had to buy the tickets for one of the two scheduled events. Luckily there were slots available to the second event on the day. The ticket was reasonably cheap, only $8. It also came with an additional bird's exhibition that took place right in front of office deck. All the stuff members were very friendly, informative and interactive. We spent wonderful couple of hours here on beautiful warm summer day.

This playground has a range of activities for the kiddos: - slides (varying in size/style) - swings - a ship that rocks back and forth - merry-go-round with space for a wheelchair - "rollercoaster" - monkey bars/structure for climbing - tunnels - musical instruments & sensory activities Plus there's a picnic area with tables and benches throughout. The area is neighborhood based and very friendly -- we've seen doggies going for walks, walking groups, and music in the park classes. Parking is very limited -- I think there may only be 8-10 spots, but plenty of street parking and a speedbump so you can feel comfortable walking w/ your little ones.
