I recently had to connect service with Dalton Utilities due to a job transfer to the Dalton area. I…read moregrew up in the area and had returned for my job and divorce. When I sat down to connect service, I was told I would have to pay $390.00 DEPOSIT ( non refundable until you move out ,oh,by the way, a$25 move in fee and another $25 when you move out on top of the $390) with a 731 credit score ( upper 63%) and a bankruptcy (6 years old) due to my divorce. I was in shock!!! They also said it was due to multiple credit checks (resident check for new apartment, wireless check, moving truck, etc.) Things that should be expected with a move. I felt completely helpless and infuriated since I had already presented a letter of credit from my previous power provider (Georgia Power) stating I had no delinquent bills or non payment. I had used this company for 5-7 years with no deposit, no problems. Don't get me wrong, a reasonable deposit would have been expected and gladly paid but this was ridiculous! I have NO past due payments on ANY other accounts I have other than the divorce issue. You work hard, pay your bills and do everything you are suppose to do to be a productive person and a company, who knows they have you over a barrel, takes full advantage of you. There was no other service available for that area!! If there had been, believe me, they would have had my business !!! Absolutely criminal.....

Not only is the service bad and rude, they have outrageous prices and they lie! 105 dollars to have someone service my place when they told me it would be free! They lied then when I reluctantly agreed the dude hung up on me because he had an attitude! Forget this company and all it stands for!

Came out same day to fix our outside spigot that would not shut off. Replaced the spigot that used…read morea washer with one with a ball bearing valve on the inside so it would be less likely to need repairs anytime soon. I appreciate being more concerned about giving the customer quality as opposed to setting the customer for a return visit.
