I can imagine why there is a vacuum in the reviews section here. To be clear - the best part of this fair is the showcasing of panhandle talent and effort in the pavilions lining the midway. Many of the food outlets are great too! (Again, local outfits likely paying out the nose to be vendors here). The "security" and ride attendants, on the other hand, live up to the storied fables of "The Carnie Life". To wit: Jack-Douglas forgot his jacket in the van. An honest mistake... We parked 15' away from the entrance and I explained the situation to the armed carnie at the door - but he gave me an emphatic NO - we would NOT be allowed to get the jacket and reenter without paying read mission. I asked if I could speak with a manager. Sure. Same conversation. I think a bit of flexibility could have gone a long way here. So... Enjoy the carnival, amigos.

I saw some people playing catch there and also playing with a volleyball. On the first Friday of every month, the park hosts the very popular "First Friday Gallery Hop," an event that provides a lively, enjoyable experience with open galleries/shops, live music, and food. I really enjoyed this place. This is a must visit while you are in Tallahassee. You can easily spend a half day or more here. It is easily accesible and I highly recommend checking this place out if you have the chance.

All hail Tallahassee for throwing another incredible FREE festival this past weekend. Vendors from…read moreall over the country were in attendance showcasing their gorgeous varieties of art. Big props to the city/county for closing down all related streets during the festival. It was great to have the freedom to walk up and down Park Ave. and other nearby streets. Live music, food trucks, you name it! LeMoyne Chain of Parks had fun for people of all ages. The incredible weather definitely amplified the experience, too. This is just another perfect example of what makes Tallahassee unique. And if you don't think so, then wake up!

Although it always ends up being way too hot, especially if you stay too long into the afternoon, and there is always a ton of people wandering about, the art cannot be diminished in any way! The selection and quality of the art for purchase were absolutely astounding, especially for what is only a small town festival at first glance. But it is even more enjoyable to chat with the artists themselves, who travel from all over the east coast, and hear the story behind each piece and what the work means to them. The festival is such a treat for every level of art appreciation and you should put it on your calendar to attend every spring!

Being born and raised in Tallahassee, every year we head out to downtown Tallahassee to celebrate…read morethe coming spring. There's a large parade that touts local business and communities to those viewing the parade. I've walked in the parade back when I lived in Tallahassee, as well as stood in the front trying to grab free beads and candy (is all I can remember as a kid). Oh, childhood. I recently ran the Springtime Tallahassee 10K. I regret so hard because that s*** is HARD! I had trained on a medium level 10K pace and interval, with some long but mild hills, and I had trouble finishing this one. I wish I ran the 5K... or the mile fun run lol. The advantages to finishing this race are: 1. Free beer, Publix donuts, fruit, bagels, water, free beer... (yes, note the repetitive nature of free beer) 2. Medal for everyone, because we're all winners 3. Free beer 4. Parking in the early morning is MUCH easier than after the race. If you're planning on staying downtown the rest of the morning/afternoon for the festivities, I advise getting out here early and running with the rest of us to ensure you get a perfect parking spot. Springtime Tallahassee is a classic festival for the natives and the visitors. Wake up early and check out what local Tallahassee fun is like!

This was my first time at the North Florida Fair and it was a fun experience for the whole family…read more There was something for everyone to enjoy, from rides to games and a variety of food options. The selection of rides was impressive, and my kids had a blast, especially with the classics like the Ferris wheel and bumper cars. The fairgrounds were well-organized, and clean. The food was typical fair fare--corn dogs, turkey legs, funnel cakes, popcorn, and fried everything! While the prices were a bit high, it's part of the fair experience, and we enjoyed trying a little bit of everything. One highlight was the livestock exhibits, which offered a nice break from the excitement of the midway. My kids loved seeing the animals up close and learning a bit about them. Be sure to bring some cash for the games and food as some vendors charge a fee for using a credit card no matter the amount spent. Plan ahead and look at the tickets/rides specials online. Will definitely visit again next year.

People were buying crafts, home made soaps, jams, jellies, art, jewelry, and of course the commercialized items. The food vendors were out in force and who could forget the Florida Lottery booth. The proceeds for admission and parking help the Tallahassee Museum.

They have a wing, just talking about all these scientific discoveries they've made at the university. I believe they share this with FAMU, but don't quote me on that just yet. I'm not 100% sure. Anyway, aside from parking, which was garage parking and had to be paid for, it was a pretty standard movie theater. You know, get tickets, purchase popcorn, the usual stuff. I will say though that they don't play every single movie currently out, but I think it's because this location is small. Nevertheless, it has its charm -- the screen is great and the employees are nice.

Venue was clean, seats were comfortable and the movie looked amazing. My only complaint would be that I wish there would have been a heads up about the Christmas parade happening when we came into town on the Challenger website. Waze/Google Maps both showed the same path to get there but most of the nearby streets were blocked off with no alternative routes so getting to the parking garage was a nightmare. Luckily we were way early and still made it with 30 minutes to spare. Other than that one issue, a great visit. We will be coming in more often now that we are aware they are there.
