I used to come to this street fair more often but now gravitate towards the Oside one on Thursday…read more Omgah, it's Thursday lol. But back to the review, please take time to go on the first week of May! There was around 500 vendors, I might be wrong but it was about six blocks full of fun things to be found. They do need some more things for men but then again, women are more in to shopping as a collective. If you love jewelry, small business finds, and food, it's definitely something I will be coming back for. I can't wait to go next year and replenish my earring collection. Recently started to collect them! We also had the most amazing freakin cake!!!! OMGAH!!!! I promise, if you like a cake that isn't dry, even a coffee cake that isn't dry, this company is worth ordering from! I am going to be ordering some yummy gifts for people in the future. It's called Dolce Monachelli's they do have a website and it's the best Bundt cake you will ever have. They have a cute sampler you can always get as a gift bc I will be gifting with these cakes! I think this is the best cake I've ever had! Sorry I don't have picks of the cake lol it was just too good and I forgot.

A typical California farmers market with 60% fresh grown and local food, 30% arts & crafts and 10%…read morefood booth/trucks. This dynamic is welcomed to most people because they get to socialize and buy more then just fresh fruits and veggies. The only thing I am critical about is the organization of the booth space that allows the flow of people in better safety and comfort. I assume there was some store front push back that wanted 100% of there sidewalk available and clear surfing the market but what that has done has jammed too many people in what is obviously a "narrow space" to walk. It would be a fair and SAFE compromise to use 50% of the sidewalks on each side and adjust back the venders booths giving people 5 feet more in the middle to walk around. It would be easier to do this rather then assume or ask people to not stand around creating bottlenecks or be considerate of others and move like a car on a road. Expect to drive around for parking if you are not local enough to walk to the event and crowding due to the popular area it is in, live music, fresh foods and drinks as well as plenty of unique crafts and clothing.

I was super excited to come here to check out the street fair! But it wasnt quite what i was…read moreexpecting. I feel like a lot of booths were from palm desert, so not necessarily local businesses from encinitas, and i felt like there were not a lot of arts n crafts n stuff like i was expecting. There werent a lot of food options, but luckily the food we had was great! I have to drive like 1.5-2 hours to get here so I probably wouldnt come again. It was a gorgeous day and fun to do once.

Tons of things to do like joisting demonstrations, archery, mock battles, food, drink, the Queens Quest for kids and older. Plenty of stands to check out too. We came early so there was plenty of parking still, but it can be hard navigating with all of the people trying to get in and out. Next time I think I will park in the church and take the shuttle bus and see if that is better. I like that this Renaissance Fair is big but not too big. Sometimes too big can get overwhelming, and you don't get to see everything. This one is a really good size and there are a lot of things to see and do, and tons of vendors. I will say a lot of the booths were very expensive for their Wares. However I don't have much to compare it to, so this may be standard for Renaissance Fair merchants and goods. I will say I have seen some very beautiful items, some of which definitely look like they have put a lot of work into. There were several places inside for food, and surprisingly the prices weren't extremely terrible, and the food was pretty good. I had Carnitas fries, and fried zucchini, both of which were pretty good. I loved seeing everyone dressed up, and putting so much effort into these elaborate costumes. There are activities and entertainment as well. The actors really get into character, and we got to see the procession with the queen in tow. Since it was my first time I didn't do a lot of the activities, but they did have some games, archery, Etc. We did stop inside the Beer Garden, which had some entertainment that was very funny. It definitely was more adult-oriented in there, which makes sense. They had people singing funny songs, and they held two contests while we were there, one for the men and one for the women. We were there for several hours, and if you do a lot of the activities I could see you easily spending the whole day here. It's a lot of walking so we're comfortable shoes. I enjoyed myself, and think I would do this again, as be participate in more of the activities.

If you enjoy fairs the way my family and I do, you'll enjoy this fair…read more Held at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, this fair is huge, though not as big as the LA County Fair in Pomona, CA. This is still a very big and well-organized fair. Parking is available within steps of the entrance in the reserved section for $60.00 per vehicle. Other lots offer parking at half the price, but they require you to do quite a bit of walking. The fair offers so much to see and do. All of the exhibits are free, as are a few other items; however, you will have to pay for just about everything else. Food prices, similar to other fares, are on the higher side. The indoor shopping areas where my family and I spend most of our time at fairs offer much-needed household items, and other knick-knacks we can do without but end up buying for unknown reasons. This fair was fun, exciting, and we definitely plan to return next years

The Costco pack for $100 is a great deal: 4 tickets, 40 ride/game credits, parking and the passport to savings book. This year it also came with a 15% off fair merch coupon. The passport book contains discounts to many vendors food and regular items for purchase. Be sure to check out the fair's daily specials: Fridays are free for kids 12 and under, half of the fair tastic foods (18 items) and only 4 credits per game/ride (although some still charged 5+ like the Ferris wheel that was 7). Parking at the fair is $25. Get there around 10:30am to get the paved lot vs dirt lot parking. I like entering through the side gate vs the main gate as the lines are shorter. They have a security check point on entry. For kids there are two ride/game areas. Old kids go to one area and younger kids (under 10) go to the upper kids area with safer rides and easier games. Game credits were $1.25 each so think about the cost when each one costs 4 credits to play. One of the duck games is a guaranteed win small stuffy that was pretty cute and you can trade up. Recommend this one as everyone is a winner. Check out the acts and performances and set reminders. The turkey run, pig races, acrobats and parrot show were great. Butterfly exhibit ($4 per person) was cool. They give you a stick with nectar and butterflies will fly to you to lick it. Food: Always have to get the Maui pineapple from chicken Charlie's ($27 after tax). Kid likes fried Oreos $12. Lobster nachos were popular this year, got them half off $14. They were just okay. Strawberry matcha $13 from Tropical Garden was good but was $3 more than last year. Dr Pepper dip n dots regular size $10 were new, tasted just like carbonated Dr Pepper. The Taylor swift inspired lucky lavender lemonade was huge $16 and pretty sweet tasting. The plastics cup is reusable so take it home. Lots of walking and lots of dirt so don't wear fancy shoes. Be sure to wear a hat and sunscreen! Nice to finish out the day using the foot massage machines ($1, credit card only).

The good news is that the place was not crowded when we arrived. We had enough time and space to walk all around without bumping into people. I like this version of the fair, not crowded with time to enjoy everything. I needed something healthy to eat so we headed to the pop up Albertsons Market that I normally go to across from Chicken Charlie's on the way to the kiddieland. I got a pretzel bun sandwich, chips, and a Naked Juice drink. All for $18. Perfect! We enjoyed our food at the eatery picnic tables next to the market. These tables were sort of clean and had not been used up and dirty like the end of the fair conditions. We visited many exhibits, the woodmaker's shop, the animals, the Hollandia milking show, and so many cool things. We also tried the candy maze in the farm exhibit hall. The nostalgic candy is not fresh so don't be surprised if it tastes old after you buy it; now we know. Very cool to try the Hollandia Dairy Coffee bottles, just cold brew, cream, and cane sugar...it WAS BETTER THAN DUTCH BROS COFFEE! Tried the grilled corn on the cob, and it was delicious, yay! This was a good visit. Thanks!

I was able to get a discounted parking ticket online at $4.00 off coming to a total of only $16.00. I was able to conveniently upload the ticket in my "wallet" on my phone. There were a lot of vendors present that were geared toward home improvement then there were the other ones who were very pushy hawking skin care. That's not what we came for. We were looking into a water system for our home & hoped to see the folks selling Murphy beds this year. They had an outdoor area with garden items and plants. There were 3 food trucks out there. We shared a delicious cappuccino. We spoke to Life Source Water Systems for a bit & with Verizon. We had switched to T-Mobile and regret it. We may switch back to Verizon. With Life Source we submitted for financing, got approved but changed our minds about the system when we found out they don't eliminate hard water. So, why go with this system and at a $8,000 price tag? It was nice to visit and for it to be in this location in Del Mar. it's a very pretty area. It was odd to see the actual buildings because we usually come here for the fair and the buildings are obscured by tents and kiosks. At any rate the fairgrounds are well maintained & always offer a nice, clean, and spacious venue.
