Cleveland Heights Library is a cozy library in the Cedar Lee business district. It's very…read moreconvenient to grab a coffee in the area or have a bite to eat then drop by at the library. I dropped by this afternoon to pick up and return books (so very convenient to pre-order and pickup). The library has two floors. The first floor has checkout desks and some book collections. Notable parts of the first floor are Meeting Rooms, printers, Large Print Books, and passport services (the latter super convenient). The second floor has additional book collections, reference desk, some meeting rooms, computer lab, and book shop. The book shop has cool sales every months with $5 fill the bag specials. Collections at the library are very versatile, you can find all kinds of books. The library hosts a lot of events that are accessible for booking on the library's website. The library also has onsite herb garden, which is pretty amazing. It's a wonderful space for the community. Parking is located in the back of the library with ample amount of space available. At the front there's a connecting pedestrian bridge to another parking lot. I highly recommend a visit, it's a very serene location!

I was kindly shown (given a tour) around the library by a staff member as it was my first time inside. So, customer service was good. The person who showed me around happened to be a security guard. I don't live in that neighbourhood so it was nice to visit a different library for a change. BOOKS AND MORE: They have a solid collection of books and research materials. If there is a book that you can't find on the online database or in person, you can ask a staff member to see if another location has the book you're looking for. They also have computers available for use. If you haven't visited any of the CPL locations then this one is good as I had a good experience here. I also highly recommend the main library location downtown which is pretty much like a museum. This is the Middleburg Heights branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library. This is the new…read morebuilding which was built 1 year ago in June 2018. I'm not from the area but I happened to be around visiting my friend In Berea so I stopped in to work on my laptop for a little bit. The building is big from the outside but there is actually only one level (one floor) inside. They close early on Sundays so by the time I arrived (around 4:10pm), they were almost closed. I still had time to walk around for a little bit even though I was only inside for less than an hour. They close at 5pm on Sundays. BOOKS -- You will find a varied selection of books here just like any other library. There is also a teenager section. If you can't find a copy of a book here, the librarians can search the other locations for you to get the book delivered. COMPUTERS -- I noticed less than 10 computers to use at the library. STUDY ROOMS -- I counted about 6 study rooms but there might be more. The door was locked when I tried to open the door so you will probably have to get the key from the front desk. I peaked inside one of the study rooms and there is a round table inside with 4 chairs. It is a small space but it gets the job done. I don't know how the noise level will be with the kids section a few feet away but at least the study room has a door. KIDS SECTION -- It is small but they have some play area activities for your kids including comfortable sofas and chairs to sit on which is at the back by the family restroom. I don't have any kids so the face that this area is small doesn't bother me. CAFE -- There is an area as you walk in (to your right) for you to eat and drink. They have vending machines there which is nice but this is not a traditional cafe with hot food. NOISE LEVEL -- It was quiet when I arrived (Sunday afternoon - 30 June 2019) and there were only about 3 other people inside. I'm not sure how noisy it will get when the kids are around because there is no wall to block off the noise since the whole library is on one floor. You could also book a study room if you need peace and quiet. PARKING -- There is plenty of parking outside on the lot. Overall, I didn't stay here long but my first impression is that this is a very clean library with friendly staff. I haven't checked out any books from this library but they have plenty to choose from. I enjoyed how it wasn't sectioned off by age so all the kids could play together and easier to watch as a parent. Lots of activities and interactive games. The kids were easily entertained.

There's also a big conference room available to reserve for meetings and what have you. They have a private study room if you need a quiet place to prepare for exams too. They have an amazing selection of Blu-rays, DVDs, and even video games! They have Wii, Wii U, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One games. I haven't seen any Nintendo Switch games yet though. Lately I've been taking advantage of their TV series DVDs. It's nice to finally be able to binge watch Breaking Bad! The Sopranos or Game of Thrones is probably next! There's 6 public computers available for internet browsing or working in MS Office and it's only 10 cents per page to print in black and white. Double-sided pages are 15 cents. The librarians and staff have been always friendly and always willing to help. If you put items on hold, they keep them on a separate shelf and they're arranged by last name. That makes it easy to grab and go! Check out is quick and easy. You can use one of the two check out machines or just go to the desk and have one of the ladies assist you. Books. Check 'em out!

While I hate to complain about anything to do with libraries, I have to with this one. The video game console and TV area is just weird. Like setup weird and in such a weird place. The staff is some of the unfriendliest batch of library people I have ever encountered. There were two very helpful ones though! You two, keep on being great because your co-workers are grumbling Greta's. The one lady in the children's section...man I hope she was just having a bad/off day. I also had a heck of a time finding certain books I was looking for as they weren't where they should have been.
