    Jazz bowl
    Matthew N.

Just came for the Cowan pottery displays and I wasn't disappointed! Jazz bowl, happiness! Lots of other pieces as well. Some were unimpressive. The jazz bowl just makes me happy when I see it. It's a historical piece of Cleveland and also to ceramics lovers. I was obsessed with Viktor Schrekengost.

There's usually someone greeting people at the door. Everyone I've encountered has been polite and helpful.

When I discovered this library years ago... I was impressed with the large volume of books/…read moremagazines and even the media room is huge ( such a variety of music , movies etc). It was quite busy with patrons. Often visited children area was great also.. the number of kids have decreased so empty now I had stopped going for a bit yesterday, the climate here has changed... not very friendly staff... in fact I can come in after a long night of work to stay awake studying for exam. I'm I aesthetically pleasing... probably not. However, I did not come for that. I notice many people of walks of life at their lowest, few teens from school and many seniors. When I do sit at table to study with my own laptop. I notice the first librarian coming around pending to look for magazine or book then another it actually became comical.not sure why?!?!. This library has been so unfriendly and judgmental that they have driven a lot patrons away. Sad. However, with recent news and activities. I can see this may heightened responses and antagonizing situations. One may get the snub from patron along with the weird sitting at table turning chair to claim her facing the clock Sir so many places to sit.. go there. I don't care.... Then to get up and come back to stand so close, ( I was waiting for the touch) just to agitate I presume... didn't give him the satisfaction. Then to come back claim " where is my..." ok this recent events really got people trueness and craziness and violent tendencies to come out. The actions of this patron yesterday does not define the library. However I do wonder about the staff as well.... The library is older and the building itself was always cool. Oh well.. change is inevitable, so I will adapt or go elsewhere

THE BEST LIBRARY!!!…read more I visited the Bay Village library for the first time in early May 2026. The two-story library is a beautiful gray and white colour on the outside and has a rooftop patio. It's a very beautiful library that still looks and feels brand new as it was built 4 years ago in 2022, opening on April 30th of that year. This review is being written in Spring 2026 so ignore the old reviews because the library is different now. The library is no longer at a school and it is now next to Cahoon Memorial Park. The staff I encountered were friendly and helpful in directing me to seats upstairs. BOOKS -- Plenty of books to choose from ranging from children's, young adults, and adults. As I walked in, I noticed a book that I would love to read and I browsed it for about a minute. I didn't borrow any books for my first visit because I have many books at home that I still need to read. I also visited the library not to browse books but I came to do some things on my personal laptop. I'm excited to borrow books here soon. TABLES/CHAIRS -- There are lots of spots to sit down to read or work on a laptop. I found a table and chair upstairs that had plenty of outlets to choose from to plug in my laptop. There is a quiet study room upstairs with a door. There is a balcony/terrace upstairs that has tables and chairs which is perfect so it at during the nice summer months. Downstairs has tables and chairs plus a few comfortable sofa's. Elevators are available for those who need them but there are stairs as well. I can't wait to visit again to check out a book or two. **** GOAL of 250 reviews in 2026 - 73/250 total reviews in 2026 - 914 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 11 May 2026

I'm not from the area but I happened to be around visiting my friend In Berea so I stopped in to work on my laptop for a little bit. The building is big from the outside but there is actually only one level (one floor) inside. They close early on Sundays so by the time I arrived (around 4:10pm), they were almost closed. I still had time to walk around for a little bit even though I was only inside for less than an hour. They close at 5pm on Sundays. BOOKS -- You will find a varied selection of books here just like any other library. There is also a teenager section. If you can't find a copy of a book here, the librarians can search the other locations for you to get the book delivered. COMPUTERS -- I noticed less than 10 computers to use at the library. STUDY ROOMS -- I counted about 6 study rooms but there might be more. The door was locked when I tried to open the door so you will probably have to get the key from the front desk. I peaked inside one of the study rooms and there is a round table inside with 4 chairs. It is a small space but it gets the job done. I don't know how the noise level will be with the kids section a few feet away but at least the study room has a door. KIDS SECTION -- It is small but they have some play area activities for your kids including comfortable sofas and chairs to sit on which is at the back by the family restroom. I don't have any kids so the face that this area is small doesn't bother me. CAFE -- There is an area as you walk in (to your right) for you to eat and drink. They have vending machines there which is nice but this is not a traditional cafe with hot food. NOISE LEVEL -- It was quiet when I arrived (Sunday afternoon - 30 June 2019) and there were only about 3 other people inside. I'm not sure how noisy it will get when the kids are around because there is no wall to block off the noise since the whole library is on one floor. You could also book a study room if you need peace and quiet. PARKING -- There is plenty of parking outside on the lot. Overall, I didn't stay here long but my first impression is that this is a very clean library with friendly staff. The size is smaller than most libraries and the noise level may be high when kids hang around in the kids section. **** - 87 total reviews in 2019 - 296 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 30 June 2019

This is the smaller branch of the main Lakewood Library. I came here hoping to sit down to work but…read morethe vibe was quiet (only one other patron was there minus the 2 staff members and police officer) so I went to the main branch instead. This library is located east of the main library and a great option for Lakewood residents who live south of Franklin Ave or west of 117th Ave. There is only one floor for Patrons to use with tables and chairs scattered throughout. The stairs that you see inside lead up to a staff only area which I was told is used for staff offices. The elevator goes down to a basement floor which is used for storing books and other library items. There is also a security guard who stands by the entrance so you will feel safe I suppose. I remember visiting this location back in November 2017 and the staff members were super helpful in locating a book for me. Even though the library ended up not having the book (they were all checked out and there was a waitlist too - others had the book on hold), they still searched other libraries for me. I was very happy to know that staff here truly have a customer service outlook. Overall, I recommend this library for the service and ease of use (it is small enough where you can find books/videos easily). 4 stars only because the Lakewood library do not allow anyone to bring their own water bottle inside. *** This is my 82nd Yelp review overall. 36th review for 2018.

The library has a Reading Fountain! You can sit there with your book and unwind, how amazing! There is also a lovely outdoor area with a mini alley that also just offers serene place to sit with your books. The facility is bright, clean, and thoughtfully organized, with plenty of comfortable seating and quiet corners perfect for reading or studying. I have to say that the library is small but very well designed and separated into - Children, Teens, Adults, and so on offering something unique to each group. The staff are consistently friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, ready to assist with finding materials or using library services. I interacted with one of their programs (culinary - pierogi making), librarians (to sign up for a program), and circulation desk (to get a library card). All were cordial and pleasant to chat with. Their collection is well-curated, with a solid range of books, media, and digital resources, and the technology offerings - like public computers and Wi-Fi are reliable and easy to access. They have a lot of international literature gems and international cookbooks. They have new books like Onyx Storm! The reads are easily found upfront. They have a huge area for large print books (event Fourth Wing). There's a big section for audio books. This library is super easy to navigate in terms of sections. I was very pleasantly surprised by all the choices. This library has a lot of very cool programs. I attended pierogi making class. My next endeavor is Dinner & A Book where we read a book and meet at a local restaurant to discuss. The read for next month is based locally (Fairview Park). This program seems to set this library apart. It's an amazing way to support local restaurants and have a local book club. I was super excited about it! If you're signing up for any programs, start early! They fill up fast. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful, resource-rich environment to read, learn, or simply recharge.
