My dogs Murphy and Chico
Nicole R.

I've been taking my dogs to Dr. Fulton and her RVT's Ashley and Bridgit for years! My dog Chico, who has a neurologic condition got a dental last week and they were able to manage his condition with exceptional knowledge and care! I genuinely feel that oral health in pets is often overlooked and mismanaged. It's been life changing for my dogs who have had proper dental care. Thanks to the team at North Bay Veterinary Dentistry for helping us!

Welcome sign for the days patients featuring Bubbles!

North Bay Vet Dentistry was the only clinic that I called (out of 9) that was able to see my dog really quickly -- I was able to schedule an appointment for the following week while all of the other dental clinics had around 2-3 month waitlists. This is because this clinic is extremely new. After talking to the clinic at UC Davis they recommended I give this place a try and I'm really glad I did! If her pre-op appointment was any indication of how good of a clinic this is, then it's definitely 5+ stars. The appointment started out with a sign at the front that greeted all of the day's patients by name which I thought was a really nice and personal touch. After getting the physical examination, the doctor sat with me for 10-15 minutes explaining the different possible procedures and why they think a root canal would be best for my dog. They were even able to schedule a next-day appointment for the procedure itself! My insurance unfortunately only covers tooth extractions and lists root canals as an exclusion. One of the vet techs told me she would gladly hop on the phone with my insurance and advocate + explain to them why they should cover my dog's root canal. This was really the icing on the cake for me and it made me feel like this clinic really cares about pet care and would go above and beyond for their patients! The pricing was upfront and as expected for this type of procedure. One of my friends actually had a similar procedure done for their dog a few months ago at a clinic in Santa Cruz, and the procedures were similarly priced. Overall I would say that the staff is really nice as well as knowledgeable. Don't let the lack of reviews scare you out of considering this place for your dental emergencies, I'm positive it'll quickly become as busy as the other vet dental clinics in the bay!

I wish I could give this business more than just five stars. I am so grateful for the team here and the help they gave us. Our dog had been in need of immediate dental attention and they knew right away how to help us. I was able to go online after hours and send them information for them to contact me, I even was able to send pictures so they knew a little about our situation ahead of time. I can't express to you how scary it is to have your pet in need of medical attention right away and not knowing what direction to go in and who can help, but we were recommended this Vet Dentist and it was seriously a blessing from above. From the beginning to end the staff here worked so well together and made our pup feel right at home. Informed us right away what was needed to be done and just the professionalism here to take all the steps necessary for my dog I didn't feel overwhelmed or like I was getting taking advantage of. They sincerely care for animals here and this has to be the best animal facility I've ever walked into. Thank you to whoever runs the ship here, during a emergency moment with a pet you made this experience one of the easiest. Our dog loved it here, they communicate with you and let you know everything they do for your pet while being under there care. It's the extra mile this place takes that truly can't go unnoticed so it led me here to Yelp. We are so grateful for the teamwork you've created and the skill set and love you have for animals goes beyond measures.

Northbay Veterinary Dentistry saved my dog Scrappy's life! I can't thank them enough! He is also a 14 year old senior dog too. I was so scared to take my pup in to get his teeth clean for 3-4 years because of his heart murmur and having him go under at a general veterinarian's practice. His teeth were horrible and his breath was so bad that I knew it was starting to affect him. It had gotten so bad to a point where my dog was getting so sick and his quality of life was terrible and had an infection. I had no choice but to get his teeth cleaned. I searched and searched... so many couldn't see him till 3-4 months out. Scrappy didn't have time. Time was his enemy. Northbay team came to the rescue and took him in right away. I had so much fears and tears for weeks before the appointment. Whet I arrived in their office I was immediately greeted with warmth and care by everyone. They will treat your fur baby like your own. Scrappy was given the upmost love and attentiveness. They answered all my questions and spoke to me in a way where I felt at ease. I felt safe leaving him with them. They updated me with constant pictures and information while I waited for him before, during, and after his procedure. Because of Dr Fulton and her amazing team Francesca, Bridgit, and Ashley, Scrappy is alive today! His quality of life has improved so much and he is so happy and has so much more life and happiness! He is playing more now and we found out more root causes to his problems. If it weren't for them and their professionalism, care, skills, and timely manner in taking him in; I honestly don't know if Scrappy would be here today or had another Christmas! I am forever grateful for them! I highly recommend if you worries like I did! They will help you and ease your mind!! Your puppies, kitties, and fur babies will be in excellent hands and care with these amazing ladies! I can't speak more highly of them!!!

She is always a wealth of knowledge and I really appreciate her attitude and perspective. I never feel rushed or like any single one of my concerns isn't addressed. When she sees you and your pet she offers you her full attention, and you can tell she actually cares. She has given me some great suggestions and advice, and she offers helpful insight and a kind approach to helping you care for your pet's health and wellness. Everyone in this office is friendly and helpful, every single person who's worked the front desk or helped me on the phone, all of the techs, and every veterinarian who has helped us in the past. They are really great with my dog and always kind to me no matter how busy they are. I really appreciate the entire staff because no one wants to take their pet to the vet, but they make it less of a drag here and they run a smooth operation from online bookings to the online pharmacy and offering me digital invoices/receipts after each visit that I always receive immediately. There's almost never a wait and the appointments start on time. So they also respect your time as well and I personally don't think I've ever waited more than five minutes even on the absolute busiest and most crowded days. My dog hasn't always been the easiest for them to work with but with their help, she has become so much less fearful of the vet's office. She's really shown so much growth coming here over the years. Thank you to Washington Square Vet for always being available for any of our pup's health concerns, and I feel lucky to have you as our trusted vet's office for many years and for many more years to come.

They would do nice things like leaving special diet cat food on the porch so that I could pick it up after work, and they would add the cost to our next bill. They would also make a point to us that they appreciated that we paid our bills in a timely fashion. Nice. All that has changed. I just got off the phone with them. I was trying to make an appointment for a check up so they could resend Leo's prescription. They found an opening for us for the very next day. Cool. Well, apparently they have a new policy that they need a $50 deposit just to make the appointment. I don't at this moment have $50 to spare but I explained to them that I just deposited a large check and that funds would be available tomorrow. I also reminded them that we have been long time customers and that we have a good record paying our bill and asked them that since this was a new policy and we were all paid up if they could just give me a pass this time and I would bring them cash tomorrow at the appointment. The receptionist put me on hold. The second woman I spoke with said to me, a good customer for 14 years, no. She said she wanted to backup her receptionist rather than accommodating a long time customer. I then told her that she was forcing me to go to another vet and that I would rather stay with them as my cats have been going there almost their whole lives. (They are 18) She then told me, that was fine with her. Over the years we have spent thousands of dollars at PCH. No more. I fired them and now we go to another vet. It didn't have to be that way.

Anyway, Dr Dotti was shocked and told me "Crystals are in the bladder and have nothing to do with weight gain!" Furthermore she exclaimed in no uncertain terms, "Shilo had NO right to give you that diagnosis since she is not a doctor!" Knowing she and Dr Wood are a team, I knew he had to approve and told her so. Dr, Dotti just shook her head. It cost me $564 to have them do two exams on my two cats, one set of shots, and flea medication. This is much higher than any vet I've used in the area. On top of that, this bill is after fending off constant upselling on the part of the vet. She couldn't tell me what was wrong with my elderly cat because, despite a $90+ exam, she needed to do a full panel of blood work to even guess why the cat is acting a little low-energy (he's 17 years old). Despite being unable to diagnose anything with my cat, she suggested I get him a monthly shot that "some people" feel helps elderly animals with arthritis. When she told me that, I watched her write $170 on my chart, as if she was calculating how much money she could get from these shots every month. Also, she said she couldn't tell for sure if the cat has arthritis or not. Likewise, when she learned my younger cat's vaccines were out of date, she told me she would have to start the whole thing over and that I would have to take the cat in AGAIN in 6 weeks for boosters. When I pushed back on this, she dropped it and gave the cat his shots. This isn't the first time she has done this. When my cat had an abscess in the past, she used it as an excuse to send me home with bags of medications, bandages, a cat collar... all for a fairly routine and not serious injury. It truly feels like a car salesman trying to add expensive seat warmers or stereo upgrades I don't want. It makes it so I can't trust anything she says. I was also shamed by this woman. She scolded me repeatedly for letting vaccines lapse and not coming to see her sooner, even though the last few years have been really hard on my family (unemployment, deaths in the family etc) and bringing healthy cats into the vet wasn't a priority. Here I was trying to catch up on the lapse and I was told how negligent I am as a pet owner. She also discovered one of my cats had a flea and acted like it was the most disgusting thing she'd ever seen and told me *three times* how I was going to have to clean my whole house. She was in the middle of telling my how quickly fleas breed before I asked her to please stop. It was way over the top and felt designed to make me feel like a filthy person because the cat had a flea. This is ironic because the office is feeling really dingy these days. There was also a toxic atmosphere between this vet and her underlings, and they passive-aggressively bickered in front of me. The assistant also gripped my cat in such an uncomfortable, harsh way during the exam that I intervened and told her I would hold the cat instead. It wasn't hurting the cat, but it was intrusive and was adding stress to an already upsetting situation for the animal. Overall I think this is a vet to avoid.
