My kids and I love Dr. Martin. I'm really disappointed that I will have to take them to another pediatrician due to the negligence in that office. I have been trying to get my daughter cleared for pre-school for 2 months. I sent over a release of records auth form when I first took my daughter there, then another one on 8/27/2019. Here we are 2 months later and I finally got an appointment for my daughter to be seen.
I have talked to staff in the office a few times in the past 2 months... mainly in the past week. I spoke with one staff member last week who wanted to confirm if I still have Cigna. Yes, I do. Simple. Done.
My daughter's appt was scheduled for Thursday 10/24. I cancelled first thing that morning due to unexpected illness and I rescheduled for today, Monday 10/28. Just to make sure, since I am familiar with how unorganized that office is, I mentioned to the receptionist at the time that yes, my Cigna is still an active policy.
Apparently, (although I've talked to a few different people in that office over the past couple of months), there's an issue with my daughter's SECONDARY coverage. They do not accept it. Could that have been brought to my attention sooner? Yes. Was it? No. When was it brought to my attention? The business day prior to my daughter's appt.
To top it off, Sharon, in their admin office is absolutely horrible. I was transferred to her and once Sharon answered, she just started talking. NO professional greeting like, "thank you for holding, this is Sharon...." or anything, she went STRAIGHT into why they are refusing to see my daughter today. Then when I said, "excuse me, hello?" because I literally could NOT GET A SINGLE WORD IN, I was conveniently hung-up on. When I called back, the disconnection was blamed on the power outages in the area. I started to explain my concerns again and guess what?? Disconnected. AGAIN. Coincidence? Hell no.
I called back and once again, Sharon answered the phone and I said, "I was speaking with someone and we got disconnected." When I asked her name, she said, "That was me, I'm Sharon, you can go ahead and write that down if you want."
All I simply wanted to know was one thing.
I asked, "why can't my primary insurance be billed instead, and why wasn't this brought to my attention sooner? I've been trying to get my daughter cleared for pre-school for 2 months now?"
Sharon said, "Well this is my first time hearing about this... "
I said, "exactly my point. There is a major lack of communication in that office."
Her reply: "Well then, I guess this isn't the practice for you, is it?"
Wow. Just wow. I really was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt because of their transition last year into a new office/new system. But, I'm giving up now and will be letting my friends and family know of these challenges. read more
