First of all do not trust Angie's list. Contractors pay to get reviews on that site which is why there was a lawsuit. We hired Glen and his crew to do major construction to our house and we had to sue them to get the entire job torn out and done over. He never obtained proper permits and the construction was done out of code. They even brought in used insulation. They are a complete joke. They have been sued by a number of people and we have no idea why Glen and his wife still have a license to work in Connecticut. If we could give them -5 stars we would especially for the stress and damage that was done. They are also protected by the LLC and our retribution had to come from the state which did not come anywhere near what we spent in the end. read more

Glenn just finished a huge renovation project including an addition with a kick butt master suite . This is 3rd major renovation we have done with Glenn, but he has also helped us with a lot of small day jobs and we always feel we can count on him. He has a great crew and they get the job done as expected and agreed. Glenn is very good at helping with planning and materials and provides very professional quotes and plans. Glenn and his crew renovated my kitchen and combined the space with the dining room, opening a wall, switching the places of a door and window, adding a desk area and small bar, installing cabinetry, new sink/faucet/garbage disposal, new counter and appliances and replacing the kitchen floor. I couldn't be happier with the results. Personable guy, good people. Left the work area tidy and as usable as possible every day. Hung dust sheets, minimizing dust/debris outside the work area I had the use of my kitchen sink every day except two isolated days throughout the whole project. He took the time to greet my pet(s) daily. I liked that. read more

We hired Glenn to do a bathroom remodel in our home in early 2018 and we still dealing with the issues caused by the bad electrical work completed by Glenn's team. After months and months of trying to get a solution from Glenn, we are now left to take him to court for failure to meet our contractual agreement and for all of the additional costs that we have incurred trying to repair the damage that his team created. If you are thinking about hiring Glenn, please read the entirety of this review. We contacted Glenn for a small bathroom renovation, floor replacement in two small bathrooms, as well as a few loose odd and end jobs around the house like replacing a ceiling fan and front porch lanterns. We had a great first impression, felt like we were on the same page, and looked forward to getting started. As the job got started, it felt like things were moving in the right direction. We were getting progress photos and no bad news, so that seemed like a good sign. We returned home from a trip to open our front door to an absolute mess. It took me 4+ hours of cleaning up saw dust and debris, dents were put in our expensive dining room table, caulk was left to dry on shelving (pulling up paint). I was in shock a "professional" would leave a site like that. It looked like they hadn't finished the job to be honest. I sent him a text letting him know that we were home, thinking that he still had work to complete. We didn't hear from him for a week and a half. In fact, one of his workers showed up to pick up a saw that he had left at our house and I had to tell him Glenn needed to contact us. Sure enough we hear from Glenn that night. "Sorry for the radio silence", he said. During this time we had no hot water in the bath he had installed for us, gaping holes in the grout, and numerous other questionable jobs he had completed throughout our house. We were infuriated. We asked for a walk through with him. This is where things went from bad to DON'T HIRE GLENN. I do a walk through with him and point out the things that weren't ok. For instance, he cut an outlet cover for a light switch in half instead of moving an outlet over an inch or two. Like with scissors. Or there's a hole in the wall above the shower faucet. Or all of the trim and crown molding he was supposed to install was either not touched at all, or he used beat up, marked up molding that was already in place. When I confronted him about it he laughed at each thing, like what silly things to be upset over. The language in his contract is soft, so it can be read numerous ways. However, in the state of CT, the contractor has the legal upper-hand. Please protect yourself and have an attorney review any contract you sign for whatever contractor you do hire. Please don't hire Glenn. All of sudden, Glenn becomes a straight up nightmare. He takes me down to the basement and points at piping and says it was a preexisting issue, that's why we don't have hot water. That's when we learned that Glenn did not hire out any of the plumbing or electrical work that we hired him to do. HE DID IT. Then he makes it sound like he's doing us a favor hiring a plumber to look at his work. Plumber comes and looks at it. Says he'll talk to Glenn. We don't hear from Glenn for days. Still don't have hot water. Eventually he says that he's trying to get a hold of the plumber. I call the plumber and said plumber arrives in 20 min, says the faucet was installed incorrectly, fixes it in 5, and voila, hot water. He sends one of his workers (really his only one, besides his sons that work for him). Still holes in grout. The crown molding and base boards look like we tried to do it instead of a professional. Glenn does the absolute minimum he has to per his contract. Then he will go back to the 15% rule of his contract and try to get every last cent of it. So not only will you have a job that will make you want to cry when you look at it, but you're going to be shelling out hundreds of more dollars than what you expected. He charged us time and gas for picking up a anchor pole to a ceiling fan at Home Depot. He will nickel and dime you over everything. Then, when you get frustrated and ask for a bill of materials and labor, he laughs at you, and makes it sound like he did you a favor. No Glenn, you screwed over a hard working family. read more

The North American Building team added a mudroom and deck addition to the front of our house. They were fantastic. The work is excellent and we would not hesitate to recommend them (or to contact them again for future projects). Though the weather caused a few time delays, once the work was started it was completed in a timely manner and communication flowed freely.
