Located on the Naperville / Oswego border where 95th St dead-ends into Wolf's Crossing Rd, this public park incorporates 33 acres of carefully planned and meticulously maintained space. It's the perfect answer when asked by your kid for the umpteenth time "wHaT aRe wE dOoOiNg ToDaY?" This complex features a playground, splash pad, covered pavilion, basketball courts, sand volleyball, tennis/pickleball courts, a lookout point with sledding hill and a ninja warrior obstacle course. It connects to various biking trails and there's onsite public bathrooms with plenty of parking. The ~100ft zipline is a standout feature and draws a considerable line on busier days. Watching kids nearly get yeeted off into the bushes makes for great theater! I assume the weight limit is 200lbs so next time I'ma have a go at it (get outta my way, kids!) The only thing missing is concessions, as the lone pop machine near the restrooms didn't appear to work. I think there's enough people here on a routine basis to warrant building a snack shop! I'd love to serve nachos and root beer to hungry peeps, as long as I got paid $25/hr. * TL;DR * This idyllic, multi-faceted rec area is fully deserving of its perfect rating. Wolf's Crossing Community Park was built with young children and special accommodations in mind, easily accessible to all ages & abilities. The fam spent several hours here (granted, most of them were confined to the splash pad) and we barely scratched the surface. I can't wait to beast through that legit obstacle course some day when I remember to wear close-toed shoes. Ain't no way my clumsy ass is making it through there in flip flops. WCCP has tons of what we in the gaming realm refer to as "replayability", essentially, is there enough stuff to do on repeat visits? You bet there is! You are come right up the Fox River and there is a rocky area where kayaks were constantly coming and going. I brought the kids over there to find seashells and skip rocks. There were a lot of people walking their dogs - some dogs were going for a swim! There are a lot of mature trees so there is plenty of shade. I will try to come to this park more often!

River is high but still nice place to walk with a play ground, benches, picnic tables, and a gazebo to sit under.

Check the website for a trail map, but most of them intersect (even though it is not always clearly marked). Sitting by the river and looking at the blind on the island we saw a bald eagle fly right overhead. So cool! I didn't believe my friend when he said they were here around the fox. There are 2 lots at each end of the park, the Northeastern one featuring a boat launch that is kayak & raft capable (though I'm not sure where you'd get off. Maybe Silver Springs state park? The way the high trail is set up it definitely looks like it could be a mosquito breeding ground next to it during the appropriate months. Bring DEET if you think it'll be an issue, but in early October it was mostly a non-issue. There is a tick warning as well, but we didn't find any. The only thing you need to watch out for is mountain bikers (and I guess the occasional horse / horse apple). They will be coming, and some of them can move pretty fast. You'll hear them on a hike, but be courteous and step to the side of the trail and everyone can enjoy this location.

This lake is also one that has motorboat access with a ramp, which is not common for the area. When the trees are filled with leaves, it's quite pleasant to sit around and enjoy nature with some shade as well.

Enter at Lindenwood off of Jericho and take Bryn Mawr to Westgate -- you'll be driving through a neighborhood to get there. Go and enjoy and support a local farm on Aurora's West Side!!! P.S. Not to mention most of the animals were kept in VERY small enclosures (a 3' by 5' pen for two full grown sheep, and two young piglets - under 8" tall- in a rabbit pen) and some were clearly underfed; I could see the ribs on both of the piglets and the ribs and hip bones on both of the horses. One of the sheep had green mucous coming out of its nose. No sanitizer anywhere to be seen. No one greeted us, although when we did find out who worked there they were very nice. I wouldn't recommend this place and we won't be going back.

Best thing is there's no admission price. This makes it even more worth it for looking around once, and you can come back as often as you want if planning to come more times. Even though it's kind of small, it feels there's a lot inside and you can be here awhile. It's got an interesting history. The beginnings of the zoo started when it was established in 1915, and a birdhouse was built the next year. Over the following few years the animal collection grew. There were birds, black bears, buffalo, deer, elk, foxes, monkeys, and wolves. In 1933 the birdhouse was destroyed in a hailstorm, and the following year the Brookfield Zoo opened. They chose to refocus on native animals after this. A few years after this, mastodon bones and tusks were found in the park. These were put on display in the zoo. In 1950 a barn was built. The following years included the addition of a water wheel. Farm animals such as goats, as well as birds like swans have their exhibits around these. The more recent additions include cougars, as well as improvements to exhibits for reptiles and wolves. Also the zoo has a few resources for education. The ZooCiety has various activities and programs. Have to say it's a good zoo for the city. It's located in the middle of the park. This is particularly a good one for young children, but it's open for everyone, so it's also okay for adults or whoever.

Admission is free. Parking is free and has more than adequate space available. The zoo is closed on Wednesdays. During the summer months, the hours are extended until 5 pm. Fall-Spring, the zoo is closed at 4 pm. Besides the zoo, they have a visitor center, sunken garden, veterans waterfall, etc. Inside the visitor center, they have mastodon bones along with information to read. They also have bathrooms that are clean and well kept.

As for the Lifeguards, they do a good job which was evident on Friday night when their job was put to the test and a child's life was saved shortly after we left for the evening. For those who say, Guards are a waste of money, I for one as a parent, grandparent and former swim team member appreciate their service. We can't always have our eyes everywhere when it comes to our kids, of any age! There are still adults out there that don't know how to swim and some of then have children. It only takes a tablespoon of water to drown, a wrong move in a game of catch or whatever to lose your balance and be the victim. Lifeguards are money well spent!
