For a small museum that shows the local history of sardine canning, this is very well done. Nothing I have seen in Monterey, California museums gives the process of the original canning industry like this one does. There is a small gift shop that will sell sardines and associated copies of vintage ephemera. I think this would be best visited for families, when there is a tour. Why? Because there is a bit of hands on demonstration that kids could join. And because of this, I would do the visit without a tour and take your time. With children, I'd make sure to join an available tour. Takes anywhere from 45 minutes to a couple of hours if you get start watching films or join a demonstration or two. read more
