Very bad have stayed their numerous times but our last stay they claimed we smoked in the room which is not the truth. want to bill us 500 dollars . We took an executive suite for the weekend. It was 142.00 with taxes and fees...which isn't what I would say super cheap but for a big jacuzzi tub and comfortable king size bed, pretty decent. Staff were helpful and friendly. Next time, I might go to one of the bars to try a local beer. Pretty dated rooms though and really dark hallways...they could use a reno. I am curious on what the Camrose casino charges a night for their executive suites...I think they would be really the only competition in Camrose. read more

2018-May-28: I stayed for one night. Uncomfortable, old, sagging mattress. I used to think that the Norseman was a good hotel, but not anymore. To me, the most important thing about a hotel room and the stay is a comfortable bed. They failed at this. The old and old-style mattress sagged several inches in the middle and the bed skirt had a large rip in it. I felt prickles on my back, so I pulled back the sheet and brushed out various debris. I didn't sleep well, and had an aching back in the morning. The bed looked and felt shabby, thus in my mind, the hotel is shabby. Sure, the check-in and check-out people were friendly. With the exception of the bed, the room looked good. I won't stay at the Norseman again. ---- 2015-Dec-06: I stayed for one night. Positive: + Fairly quiet once the traffic on Highway 13 reduces. + Comfortable bed + three pillows of different thickness and softness. + Clean. + Good price. + Microwave & mini-fridge in the room, though I didn't use either. Negative: - Too hot (middle of 4th floor); I had to turn on cooling and set thermostat to its lowest, and eventually in the middle of the night it finally became a comfortable temperature. - Unsecured wireless Internet. This is a computer security issue for anyone who uses it. Hackers could use this to invade guest's computers. - The lamp in the corner over the table didn't work or the light bulb was burned out. Neutral or Positive & Negative: +- TV was old cathode ray tube type, but I didn't use it, so I didn't care. +- I forgot my event tickets and needed to print them out again. There are no computers or printers available for guest to use, but the front desk clerk printed out my tickets for me when I e-mailed them to her. +- Both check-in and check-out front desk staff were not very communicative, enthusiastic or friendly (they were not busy when I checked in or checked out). I can't blame them for that, though, because I am ugly and reserved. Yet I've experienced better at other hotels. read more

This is the second year in a row that we've stayed at the Norsemen for a hockey tournament. I'm not sure what their regular rate is but I would be pretty choked paying more than their corporate rate of $99. It's clean, but it's definitely no frills. The beds are super soft so if you prefer a more firm mattress (like me) you're in for a rough sleep. They haven't upgraded to LCD TVs yet, or key cards for that matter, but they do have free wifi. The hotel restaurant has been really slow each time we've been there so make sure you're not going there when you're in a hurry. read more

I got married at the Norsemen in 2013 -- the staff was incredible in helping me execute an absolutely perfect day. The food was beyond amazing. We served beer that was brewed onsite at the Norsemen Brewery and everyone loved it. When an elderly guest of ours took a tumble management was very involved in ensuring that person's comfort and making sure they were okay. The hotel rooms are dated, but they are clean, if a bit well loved. I wouldn't have changed a thing. read more

Our family stayed at this hotel for one night and had an excellent experience. The room itself was very spacious and clean. The one negative comment would be regarding the sofa-bed because you could feel the springs everywhere and the bars would dig into your back which is why I gave four stars. I can guarantee nobody would have a good sleep on that thing and it definitely needs to be replaced. We went to the Gravity Lounge for dinner and all of us thought the food was absolutely amazing! Not only that, it was my brother's birthday and they brought an incredibly generous slab of cake for all of us to enjoy. It was also delicious! We had lunch in the hotel join checkout and once again the food was amazing. I'll definitely stay at this hotel again! read more

TLDR: I go to a place for the beer, not because certain people or a 'scene' is there or not. I don't concern myself if a place is empty. The only thing I'm concerned about is the quality of the beer. I attended the Camrose BVJ in summer 2011 (for work marketing gig, not because I wanted to actually go, and rub shoulders with gaptoothed country bumpkins, rednecks and bud lite drinking, country music lovin domestic truck owning good 'ol boys with truck nuts, icky.) and myself and my collegues discovered this pub called the Norsemen Inn, after much harranging, I got my collegues to come with me. Once inside, I swear, we were the only ones in there. Everyrone else it seems, were at the mainstream bars. It was, however, nice and mellow, music at a nice ambient level. But the difference? They brew their own beer on site and I'll be damned, the beer actually wasnt bad! Beautiful colour, very lively, I could tell the beer lines were clean as a whistle, and the beer very fresh. (but still pasturised) Still a little thin in body and mouthfeel, but still a valiant effort, and 100x more flavour than anything the macro guys can make. Norseman brewmen, if you can put the stuff in casks instead of kegs, and serve it with the finings still 'alive' I think you might be onto something! My collegues complained that the place was dead, but after being hassled to try the microbrews, and initially complaining that it was too 'bitter' (Shock horror, a beer with an actual FINISH) they ended up liking it, and stayed. We had a whale of a time. read more

This hotel looks like nothing in it has changed since the ages of Norsemen. Paper-thin walls. I could hear the conversations of neighbors on either side of me. No gym, but they have an arcade. Seems like a necessary commodity. Smells like a nursing home. No key cards either. read more

I read the reviews before staying there and I think those people had shares in the hotel. Old, old, noisy. The first room had worn out beds and someone else's dirty underwear hanging in it, hotel was accommodating and switched out rooms. Next room cleaner but old. Tub needed an overhaul, carpets gross. The service and location were good. Sure there is better in camrose. Save your $100 and sleep in your van. read more
