This bed and breakfast is run by a couple named Ramona and Wayne who take very good care of the property. The big white barn is excellent for scrapbookers, wedding receptions and family reunions. With plenty of windows for lighting and fresh air, two washrooms, a fridge, stove, microwave, coffee, tv and lots of tables and chairs, it can accommodate any crowd up to 130 people. The bedrooms are located upstairs of the barn. There are four spacious rooms each with a queen bed and a hide-a-bed, single bed or cots to fit four to five people in each. Each room has a bath tub and shower, mini fridge and tv. The facilities are very clean and well maintained. The area has space for RV parking and nature trails. It is quiet and peaceful so also great for a weekend getaway. They have an outside dog and a few cats who come say hi once in a while. Just off the Yellowhead Highway and very easy to get to. Ramona is wonderful and will make sure you have an enjoyable stay.

The house is a gorgeous 1910 heritage home. It is carefully decorated for a feeling of comfort and elegance. The hosts are friendly and professional ensuring that your stay is relaxing and pleasant. They go into so much detail - custom made salts for the bath, wine and cheese for your arrival, classical music playing in the sitting area for breakfast, and slippers to put on your feet if you are cold. Our room was lovely. Huge heart shaped tub, sauna and fireplace. We come here to unwind and relax. The breakfast is always delicious. From home made lavender scones, to fresh fruit and home made yogurt, as well as a hearty main meal I always leave stuffed. I love how they grow as much as they can on their own and in the summer I was able to eat some delicious herbs and sun ripened tomatoes. I wonderful place to recharge and rejuvenate. It is a short drive from Edmonton and much more personable than a hotel for roughly the same price. Totally recommend it.

I have so far run four yoga retreats at River Lodge - a wilderness lodge located off a gravel road…read morein the country surrounding Stony Plain. It's situated in a beautiful setting with access to hiking trails that lead to a meditation area and look-out over the North Saskatchewan River. There's a cozy lodge where you can stay in dorms, single or double rooms. There are several common bathrooms and showers. If having a private bathroom is more your style, you can rent one of two cabins located just outside the lodge. One of the two cabins has a king-sized bed and canopy that's beautiful and rustic. Cabins have kitchenettes. There's a communal kitchen in the lodge, saunas and a big room downstairs where I can run my yoga classes, but which is often used for meditation retreats and other conferences and gatherings. I like doing business with River Lodge. They are very accommodating and and a friendly couple who you usually see out-and-about on the property. They live in a house next door to the lodge. This place is charming and rustic. Make sure that's your schtick and cup of tea, so you're not disappointed! You will breathe easier here and I always leave my worries and unfinished business at the front gate ... where it's waiting for me when I leave;)
