The vibe of this restaurant was amazing! The tables are inside pools of water for the inside seating and the outside seating is on the beach (on the sand). If you're paying the price to come here you're probably wanting to sit inside since it's so unique. You can also sit near the Malecon boardwalk if you want to people watch. The coco Noroc looked cooked inside of the coconut but it was very light in the alcohol. The Tom yum red curry seafood soup was an interesting twist on the traditional Thai soup. The Thai version is sweet and sour and they seemed to have missed that. I would've liked a bit more curry seasoning as well to add a richer flavor. The salmon was cooked well and was fresh. This place is getting a lot of buzz on the gram/tok. However, would recommend going here if you're only interested in ambience, and only at night. We visited on a hot summer afternoon, the place is on the busy downtown street so there's literally spots to park and the cobblestone roads on the incline make it impossible to find parking. You can reserve ahead on OpenTable but if it's for noon/Early evening don't bother since the place was empty. Called to let them know we were running late and the maitre d wasn't too hospitable and said we needed to get in there within 15 mins for the reservation to hold. We reached and saw the place was empty, not even one table was filled and they gave us the far end spot, close to the shore but out in sun so we were hot and parched. We were basically stopping there for a few drinks since their food offerings do not look interesting and diverse and also don't have many vegetarian options. It took the staff a while to assign us a server and then to get just the two beverages we ordered. They're really big on the tipping culture there and very pushy about it, even w lack of any service. Noroc, Let's start with the positive. The table set up is blow your mind. Amazing. You definitely come here knowing that you're going to take pictures and have an experience so I would say you're definitely paying for the experience and the ambience of the restaurant because it's picture perfect. The cocktail menu is extensive. The drinks were good, but the prices are high even from Mexico. I got the salmon Caesar salad, which was amazing. I would order it and eat it again. The beef steak was just pretty average and the prawns were cold and overcooked. Again I feel like you don't particularly come to this restaurant for the food however, I do recommend the duck and the salmon if you are coming here but just know that it is touristy. Upon reading the other reviews I will weigh in and say that I agree but disagree on a few of the points. The food temperature I would agree was warm not hot but to their credit, it was warm enough to where you can eat it right away. I wasn't too bothered by the temperature, for me, I thought it was just right. The quality of the food was fantastic, especially for the presentation and price. We ordered the filet, which is $20. Being from Las Vegas, having the quality of steak and flavors, this was definitely not expensive (but on par for PV prices). All of us in the party thought that our meals was great. The service was very attentive. Someone was right there to clean a plate once they saw you were finished, which I love not having to move dishes around, after you're done. The waiter was the perfect amount of attentive without hovering. He was always making sure the needs were met with giving us space to enjoy our experience. The setting is lovely, the design is interesting, it's sort of a 'scene' - a place to see and be seen and all of that... very Los Angeles or Miami or even Vegas type energy (for you Americans for whom that means something). 3.5/5 stars I recommend coming here solely for the atmosphere and experience. Food is good but for its value I'd say there's definitely better and more affordable options around downtown. The shrimp tostada and Peruvian ceviche are the closest to authentic Mexican foods from here the rest of the menus are suited to American palates so options were personally limited for me since I wanted good Mexican food. The ladybug cocktail was sooo yummy I downed it in a few minutes and had to get another one. Service was top notch. If you are in Puerto Vallarta and are looking for a spot with ambiance all around, this is the place. The restaurant tables are all styled to be circular pods that sit "inside" water so that alone provides a unique environment. The service is top notch, incredibly attentive servers. I ordered the lobster which was one of the biggest I've ever been served and certainly bigger than anything caught locally. I had to ask where they brought their lobster from and the server immediately went to ask the chef and came back to share it was from Baja California. The food is pretty good but I wouldn't say incredible which is the only reason I didn't give this spot 5 stars. The mescal margarita was delicious and the chocolate volcano desert had incredible presentation but not spectacular taste and small portion (though by then I was stuffed an unbothered). I wouldn't bring kids here and not necessarily romantic but a great spot for family groups or friend groups. read more

One of our main dishes (the shrimp) was so salty that no one ate the table could stomach it and there were 7 of us! However the worst part of the experience was that the food took 90 minutes to come out. If we didn't order appetizers and drinks right when we sat down, we could have easily been there for 3+ hours. The restaurant wasn't busy at but it seemed like that only had 3 cooks in the kitchen in a Friday night at 7pm. If you really need to go here - go at sunset for drinks, pictures and an appetizer. Noroc is a modern, contempory restaurant with sleek and sharp edges. All tables are rounded booths that sit inside basins of water which really make for a nice ambiance. On top of that, you have the view of the ocean. It's not too high above ground level, but its high enough where you don't see most people walking by on the boardwalk. After we were seated, we were provided a fresh coconut drink that was made right in front of our table. This was really light and refreshing and very welcoming. I couldn't really understand the cusine of the menu as there were a variety of dishes; I would say a mix of classic/french/mediterranean. We ordered a bottle of wine, the Arugula Salad and French Onion Soup Au Gratin; a bread basket with butter was also served at our table. Staff and servers were friendly and attentive. We stumbled upon this restaurant without intention and decided to stop and eat after seeing the menu. The whole experience was so lovely, the host was so nice to our toddler and there's a bartender who made us each a small mocktail. The view from the gorgeous booth was stunning and the whole ambiance of the restaurant is notable. We ordered the Caesar salad (highly recommend), the pork belly entree, the salmon entree, and the pasta for our toddler. It all came with a bread basket and small cup of soup (both were unexpected, the soup was soooo good). The entrees were also so delicious! The service was absolutely fantastic, the best we've had since coming to Mexico a week ago. They really pay attention to the whole room and make sure each guest has a great experience, even for our toddler. Can't recommend this place enough and do not understand why it only has an average of 3.5 stars. Place was almost empty with the main edge tables full as that's were you get the views for great photos. We wanted a bottle of Lambrusco but the server noted they may not have it. He then recommended a Prosecco, at that point it felt like up selling so we figured what the "recommendations" would be like Prosecco bottle wasn't cold enough so he let it rest in the chiller. Not a good impression for up selling. A few gestures like opening the bottle let us know this was not fine dining as we expected. We had to request a stopper to make sure the wine stayed chilled instead of left opened. Chef sent a small soup appetizer, was warm, I would've preferred either cold or hot. The server said it was Pumpkin but tasted more like broccoli. It was tasty. We then got the Arugula, beet and cheese salad with nuts. Delicious and refreshing. I didn't expect it chopped but it had lots of flavor. We got the Stuffed chicken and Filet mignon, chicken was tasty the presentation was not. Steak was also tasty with its own cherry sauce but was dry. We ordered medium. Overall both dishes were filling as they came with sautéed veggies and potato purée. We had no room for dessert. Service was not as attentive. There seemed to be no manager present, or attention to detail from the front of house staff. The cooked did their part as the kitchen is open. But often our server would not come or clear the table or silverware. For these prices you would expect top notch service. Lastly the tip option was only 20% and above. I seriously would've given 15% but that was not an option. 1 star for the food temps and -1 for the staff service which barely was there. If you have the bucks to spend sure get the main platters and wine and call it a night. If you want a romantic night dinner go elsewhere for half the price and better customer service. Food was below mid. Service was incredibly slow, doesn't even look understaff, some are just chilling while we're waiting for our check. Wasted like 2-3 hrs of our time when we couldn't ate and done so many things else on our vacation while saving money. There was 8 of us and we tried many different appetizer and entree and none of them was good except for the cooked salmon entree. People said the shrimp taste good so we order two do them and it was incredibly salty. Weird for a place to be so invested in money already but can't hire better chefs or carry better service and reputation. Waiter messed up our bill too and even ask for 15%, 18%, 20% tip on card before we even get to look at the bill. Most of us worked at food service n restaurants before so we had patience for everything but that way pushing it. They even charged for water that's not even bottle and didn't inform us until the bill. Picture worthy, but not worthy to waste all that time and money for a picture. It's also on the beach with an amazing view. The best part is you sit in little enclosed booths with lilly pads and water surrounding you. My husband and I stumbled upon Noroc one evening while looking for a place with beautiful views to have a romantic dinner at and we are so happy we did! Noroc was everything we were looking for and then some. The food and cocktails were so beautifully presented and tasted amazing! I did the tasting menu and it was very comparable to a French Laundry meal but for a fraction of the cost. The service is out of this world!
