I'd thoroughly recommend grabbing a wee picnic and some beers and parking up for the evening to watch some cricket in the sun and generally feel very smug about how good life can be sometimes....

It's like a magical walled little respite away from the busy road and bustling bridge traffic just nearby. They denied this as it is not their policy to refund. Whilst I understand a policy, I explained it was a genuine oversight and I would not benefit from a credit as I don't live nearby to use this. One kind manager did contact the owner about this but they refused to give me a refund. My five year old was left in tears as we were unable to then afford an alternative place to book. What an awful money grabbing business!!!! Please don't give them any more of your money!!!

It also has bumper cars and another roundabout type ride. Best to go in the mornings if you can as the weekend afternoons are very busy, although most people like it so much they are okay with it. The other problem is that adults should be with their children in the bumper car queue because other children queue jump and the Gambado staff do not sort this out. This is of course very upsetting for children and parents alike. They should have a better queueing system or at least one staff member operating the ride and a second controlling the queue. The clever thing would be a proper queueing system which actually lines people up properly. However today there was a great staff member who actually stopped the queue jumpers and he should be applauded, he also really cared and was great with the children. It is also expensive however it is so good they can happily get away with it.

Wandsworth Park, it's nothing special…read more There's one tennis court. There's one field for bowls. There's a little cafe. There's a playground. There's a big open green space. There's a tree-lined promenade that hugs the Thames and overlooks another foliage-filled green space across the river in Fulham. But that's about it.

The coffee and food are decently priced and home made. The staff is lovely. The atmosphere is nice but as someone who suffers from allergies, the upstairs area with all its flowers is a bit too heady for me. Downstairs (with gates both at the top and bottom of the stairs and staff that will help you carry buggies) there's a large soft play area with slides, a swing, a climbing wall, a ball pit and a plethora of toys. There's also a little play house, a large wall painted with blackboard paint with chalks at the ready. On the far side there's a book shelf and reading corner as well as a sensory room fully darkened with just a few colour changing light sources. Absolutely love this place and £5 entry for children is very reasonable for hours of fun!

Came here for the MINT Polo in the Park event in June 2011 to watch polo for the first time…read more Turned out to be more of a drinking event than actually watching the horses, but I managed to do a little bit of both. ;) We ordered a lovely picnic hamper from Harrods and quenched our thirst with Pimm's. The open area around the field had patchy areas of grass, and with all the people walking around, my feet were soon covered in dust. This venue would be a lot nicer if there was more lush grass around to have picnics on.

Hurlingham Park.... it's just on the Thames. Between Putney Bridge and Parsons Green stations. "Never knew it existed" Seriously people, go and check out Hurlingham Park. It's right on the river and it's inlcusion in a walk along the Thames makes for a lovely day. Not much in the way of facilities admittedly, but you don't get your normal chavvy park youths causing havoc... it's in Fulham dahhhhling. Check out Polo in the Park during June of each year, it's a great excuse to get dressed up, drink pimms and pretend you know the rules of the game. You can even stand next to a speedboat. Or steal a Cartier watch? (Don't do that actually). And if you're really haven't been paying attention, it's the home of the might Hammersmith and Fulham Rugby Football Club.

The park itself was opened by the London County Council in 1893, on land given by the Ecclesiastical Commissioners. It is listed at Grade II on english Heritage's Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest. At the Putney Bridge end, adjacent to All Saints church (also worth a look) are Pryors Bank gardens, which contain a small cafe. The park then runs along the north bank of the River Thames, essentially as a broad green avenue with an embankment walkway along the river, before splitting into two arms: one follows the river and has lakes and formal planted beds, whereas the other, along Bishop's Park Road, contains tennis courts and bowling greens, with another small park area fronting Fulham Palace Road. It also contains the Bishop's Park Moat Trail, which follows the line of the mediaeval moat of Fulham Palace. Alas, this was filled in, between 1921 and 1924. It is said to have been the largest mediaeval moat in the UK, and parts of it may even have dated back to Neolithic times. As others have said, it's a great place for recreation, and a busy thoroughfare with lots of cyclists using its dedicated cycle paths. It's very popular during the Boat Race, due to the great views along the river, but it's nice to stroll on any sunny day. There are plans to revamp the park, restoring a number of Victorian features, Fulham Beach and the pitch and putt course.

LONG-TIME MEMBER, NOW DEEPLY DISAPPOINTED…read more I've been a loyal David Lloyd member for years, but today I feel angry, hurt, and unsafe. Two weeks ago, my husband's racing bike was stolen from right outside the entrance of David Lloyd Finchley. We reported it immediately. Managers promised to check CCTV and follow up but we've had zero contact since. No updates, no accountability. This isn't a one-off. Friends have had wallets stolen, lockers broken into, even cars targeted. Every year, our membership price increases we now pay over £300/month yet basic security is ignored and the gyms are overcrowded and oversubscribed. I never thought I'd say this, but I no longer feel safe in a space I once loved. I'm seriously considering cancelling. If this can happen to my husband, it can happen to anyone. We deserve better. I paused my membership some time ago due to having life-saving surgery. Despite some time having…read morepassed, I am unable to return to the gym. I emailed them months ago to cancel my membership. I waited over a month to receive a reply. The reply was not acceptance of my cancellation, but rather a demand for medical notes to prove my surgery. My membership length was well over the 12 month contract, so I do not actually need permission to cancel. I assumed it was an oversight, and maybe they just didn't check. I replied advising as such. Another month goes by, and I finally get a reply. Again, not confirmation of cancellation, but a demand for three months' worth of payments. In this time, I was also advised by a third party that their prices had increased significantly. At no point was this communicated to me, nor was I given any opportunity to cancel my membership before said increases took effect. A clear failure in process that, judging from the other reviews here, is a running problem for them. At this point, some three months after my request to cancel, my membership remains active. Avoid!

It's a sizable park and feels more like being in a jungle vs. the more manicured London green spaces like Kensington Gardens or Hyde Park. So after our visit to the Japanese Garden, we enjoyed just wandering around and kind of getting lost. We also appreciated the peace and quiet that comes with the relative lack of crowds.

It didn't hurt that the weather was absolutely perfect. Oh yeah, and there are sizable playgrounds for kids, some for toddlers and smaller kiddos, and an adventure park for older kids. This park has been one of the highlights of our visit to the UK.
