Few days ago, although I was so exhausted but my little ones needed to borrow books no matter how tired I had to put on that mommy energy and get them here. I sat next to the window, watched through the window cars passing and enjoyed the outdoor lush beauty. There was a magic, no phones, library silence, row of books that stand like silent companions and each holding a world within the spine of books. At least the books are silent not like manager's, they don't ask how fast can you work on this. I feel library is a safe space, read, wander with imaginations, crave for more and eager to read next book from the series and let your brain learn new words or emotions through the book. Growing up, I was happy whenever the library trailer book bus came to our school. We never had library while growing up, so I looked forward to borrow book's when the library bus came. I clearly remember one time, my favorite book was dinosaur book. I renewed twice because the story was my favorite. And I'm glad my kids enjoy reading and thanks to the public library, we've borrowed thousands of books. And without the library, this wouldn't be possible without breaking the bank. And thanks to the library, we can borrow from different branches. They make it possible for kids to read and grow. All I want to say, thank you! You are making a big difference in our lives.

On this lovely Sunday that we visited, we came not long before closing, but it's opened from 1-5 on Sundays so that's still pretty good, plenty of time to enjoy this library. Although it's not a very big library, it has everything you'd expect from one. Upstairs is the teens and adult sections, pretty typical areas with lots of fiction and non fiction books, but there's also nice views of the lake and greenery outside the library from this upper floor. The main floor downstairs consist of the children's section and it's bright, clean, and colorful. On this floor, you'd also find that the space is pretty big and has lots of books for kids of all ages, as well as bathrooms, meeting rooms, a Friends of the Library book sales store, the main info desk with friendly library staff, and has all the comprehensive resources you'd expect at a library. Overall, we enjoyed visiting this library again even though it's not our first time, but it's still as nice as before, with a calming palette of colors inside and nice natural landscaping outside, making this a truly quiet and peaceful retreat in the middle of the bustling little bedroom community of Rocklin, CA in Placer County.

Our daughter currently reads the Level 2 Easy Reader books to help better her reading and they have a really nice Kids Space! This includes a working play register our daughter has a blast playing store with play food, tote bag, tables, 4 computers and children's books! Located inside the library, the Friends of the Orangevale Library store sells DVDs, CDs, Magazines, Audio Books, Books and Puzzles for quite a bargain! Donations are accepted as well! I would HIGHLY recommend this location that's been here since 2001! We'll continue to come back! This is one of the oldest branches of the Sacramento Public Library system if I recall correctly…read more We're not out this way much, but I've been here back when I was a child, and recently visited again. It's a nice library set in a quiet part of the older part of Rancho Cordova. There's a derth of public libraries out here. The next closest one is like in Folsom or East Elk Grove, that's pretty far. So this location definitely serves its purpose for the community out this way. I came on a Saturday morning after dropping off my kid at an activity. I needed a hang out place, so what better place than a quiet library. This morning there were not many people, I found the book my big kid asked my wife to ask me to check out for her and got it all checked out with the self checkout kiosk. After that, I found a quiet spot in the library and started to read and also watch some videos on my phone using the Wi-Fi provided by the library. From my several pictures, you can see the front entrance and yard area are nicely maintained and clean, and although the library itself is older, it's still open and bright inside. Could it use some updating? Probably, but it's not necessary. It looks like they've definitely changed out the carpet and updated some furniture. I hung out for a few hours and then it was time to go. Overall, it was a good time. I enjoy using the public facilities and services I pay for with my tax dollars. You should check out this library and see how they put your tax dollars at work too. ;)

It has seating nooks & a life-sized fake tree in the kids section that adds whimsy. STEAM bins can be checked out for in-library use. They also have sensory kits, adventure packs, & storytime kits available. An arts & crafts table offers changing simple activities like coloring. Though some of the seating is worn, the space always seems tidy. Staff at the front desk are welcoming, friendly, approachable, & helpful. The DIY check out & return systems are convenient & user friendly. There is a section of books & media for purchase. It's located at Mahany Park, next door to the Utility Exploration Center, which expands a nice family experience. There's plenty of parking for everyone using all the other parks & recreation facilities in the complex as well.

I typically frequented academic libraries for studying purposes so perhaps this is normal in a community library, but finding a quiet space was difficult. The designated "study" rooms upstairs are often used for group classes and the "quiet areas" upstairs would still have periods of lengthy conversation.
