Beautiful library with open spaces, free Wi-Fi, cute children's area, clean restrooms, plenty of computers for use by patrons and so much more. They do have a story time during the week for the kidlets. Parking is difficult, and I have noticed the ticket ladies in front stalking the area for the slightest of parking infractions, and ticketing people. I would suggest that if you can not find parking in the super small parking lot, not to park in front, but on one of the side streets.
During tax season, there are volunteers from AARP doing income taxes twice a week through VITA, a volunteer tax preparation service for low income people. They are not employees of the library, the library can not force them to work, or accept any ones tax return to prepare. They get overwhelmed during the tax season, so be nice to them, they are not paid at all.
The employees who work for the actual library are nice for the most part. Come and check this library out if you live in the area. You can check out books if you live in the Orleans parish or the neighboring parishes. read more
